With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!

Samantha was more stressed than ever. The Trossachs had launched one of their attacks right in the middle of London--in the hospital, right in the place where everyone should be safest. And if that wasn't bad enough, the reports said that Teddy had been seen among them. She didn't want to believe it, had read the words over and over again, as if that would change what they were saying. Lupin with the Trossachs.
And to tell the truth, she didn't believe it. She knew Teddy, had been working with him for years at this point, thought of him as family. Nothing he had ever said or done in her presence would indicate working with their worst enemies. But she couldn't let it go without knowing what was happening--without knowing if Aurors had found him and questioned him, without knowing if his safety, and the safety of all the Cotswolds, had been compromised.
But it looked like he had made it to her house safely, so while she was still nervous to find out what this conversation would reveal, she couldn't help but breath a sigh of relief to see Teddy's face. "Come in, please," she said, closing the door behind him. "Some tea, perhaps? Or would you like food? I've had these Russian meat buns recently, I've been trying to figure out how to make them." None of them had turned out perfectly, but she'd had to busy her hands with something to avoid wringing them while waiting to find out what would happen to Teddy.
"And then--I hate to make you anxious, but we have a lot to talk about today, you know."
It was the morning after the night before (isn’t it always? What a weird saying) and Edward “Teddy” Lupin looked the worse for wear. His clothes were the same as those he’d been wearing yesterday morning, though if a person looked closer they would note a few less buttons than button holes. If the metamorphmagus had time enough to check himself in the mirror, he might have known to correct for the dark circles under his eyes or redness in them, he’d have made his five-o’clock shadow disappear and adjusted the collar of his shirt so it wasn’t skew-whiff.
So, why was Teddy such a mess?
He’d spent an unpleasant evening being ”questioned” by two ambitious Aurors when they found him in Diagon Alley that evening. It was the first he had heard about the attack at St Mungo’s involving him. According to eyewitness reports, Teddy had casually walked into the hospital to break free the offending students from their Ministry mandated stay in hospital. Already injured people were hurt even worse in the chaos and where were the kids? how did he think he’d get away with it? if he tells them who was involved, maybe Potter can cut him a deal?
It was in fact Potter that had found the little interrogation and dismissed the aurors that morning. He’d given Teddy a warm cup of coffee and explained the evidence that had been gathered so far was not... favourable. For the first time in Lupin’s life, he could see Potter’s worry that he wouldn’t be able to shield him from this particularly bad turn of events. It was devastating. It made his journey home, via Sam’s feel like he was wading through molasses.
Like a naughty puppy, Teddy rapped on the door of his leader for a moment, uncharacteristically silent when Sam opened the door and ordered him through. He shuffled in, the coffee that had given him enough energy to arrive now woefully depleted in his system. ”Hey Sam...” Ted’s voice cracked and he attempted a small smile as he made his way to an available chair. ”If you have chamomile tea? ... a meat bun sounds good too.” Though the moment she passed him one, Teddy was completely confused. He was expecting a bread bun filled with taste lunch meat or perhaps a steak. Caramelised onions if he was lucky. What he got was more like... a sausage roll.
”I didn’t do it, Sam,” Teddy said preemptively, reluctantly catching her eyes so that she knew he was telling the truth. ”I wanted the kids out just as much as any other compassionate person but I wouldn’t hurt anyone else to do it. I wouldn’t make things harder for us all... I wouldn’t risk breaking the paw because... I’m going to be a father and I have to be here for the pack, for Scarlett, for the kid.”

"Of course. This is my house, there's always chamomile tea. I can't believe you'd have to ask, Teddy." Through the serious mood of the day, Samantha was still able to make the smallest of jokes. Setting the bun in front of him, she set about flicking her wand at the stove to start warming the kettle and collecting two teacups from her cupboard. Leaning against the counter as she waited for the water to boil, she watched Teddy carefully, considering his words.
With all her heart, she wanted to believe he hadn't done it. It was so out of character for him. Sure, she hadn't known him for more than a couple years, but she knew he'd been Head Boy, was organized, was passionate, had thrown his whole self into working for the pack. She decided not to mention anything about whether the kids should've been able to leave or not--they were certainly old enough to know that attacking a school full of their peers was never an appropriate action--but this was about Teddy, and what he did and didn't do.
"Now, there's nothing you've done that would make me believe you were there that day," Samantha said, just as the kettle whistled. She paused to pour the water into the teacups before continuing. "It's not like you at all. And I've asked; people said you were at camp, and although that could mean nothing since you can Apparate, I still doubt you were able to organize a clearly detailed attack plan without letting anyone know." Bringing over the teacups, she set them down on the table before settling into her own chair, sighing.
"But what we do have to know, what I have to know, is who did, because we need to plug whatever leak led someone to be able to impersonate you." Samantha knew she was strict about security, but that was, she thought, because it was of the utmost importance. None of the pack should ever get so much as a scratch under her watch, not even from each other. "You need to be able to focus on your family, without worrying about someone running around getting into trouble under your name." Just as Samantha herself focused on Teddy.
