With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
Tonight the night was cold, there was even a sign of rain that wasn't predicted. Though was anyone ever really surprised by the sign of rain when it came to the united kingdom? Kiernan surely didn't feel surprised as he made his way through the rain into the pub that was supposed to show an amazing game. The Irish were to face the British in this magical event that is football. Sometimes something as simple as football was enough entertainment for Kiernan. He didn't need a woman on his arms every single day, he didn't need the attention of fans every single minute following up to it.
Kiernan ran his hand through his wet hair and laughed it off as he ordered a beer, taking a seat at the edge of the bar itself. He liked something to lean on and waited for his friend he invited to join him into an evening of entertainment and flat out fun. Sometimes he felt like he was getting disconnected from his friends, whether it's due to graduation or just simply because he was often touring all over Europe and barely had time to meet people these days. He didn't regret this job he chose but it had its downsides for sure.
Kiernan spotted his blonde friend from miles away and grinned. "MORGAN, OVER HERE." he called out over the shouts from the other Irish men who were hitting tables, waving flags as the game started. "Just in time mate! One beer for my friend, put it on a tab." he told the bartender and rose his glass in a cheers. "How have you been?"

Gabriel trudged through the wet streets of Muggle London, his tall boots keeping the rain from soaking through to his socks and the water repellent charmed coat didn't quite work well enough on his damp jeans. He should have learned that English weather was too unpredictable to just take a weather-proof jacket. He clicked his tongue and squinted to read the pub sign in the dim light. This certainly seemed to be the pub that they'd coordinated a meet-up in. Gabriel had been pleasantly surprised to get an owl from his old friend, but it was a welcome distraction from his currently jobless state. All he'd been useful for recently was housework. At least he supposed that was a life skill he'd improved in, he could use it once that stupid legislation was reversed...if it was ever reversed...or if anyone needed to hire him for menial tasks.
He stepped inside, blinking a few times to adjust to the lit up room. It was crowded, full of rowdy football fans. He scanned the large mass of people, but was a little disorientated by the sudden loudness as the game began. He swiveled towards his name, finally catching sight of Kiernan. He gave a bright smile and slipped through the crowd to join his mate, sitting on the spare chair. He was uncomfortably close to some guy behind him, but he didn't mind too much when he heard the beer being ordered for him.
"You know...the usual." He edged around the question, like an ungainly elephant attempting stealth. "What about you? Big quidditch star now, hey? How's the family?" Words: 270 Tags: @kiernan
The game was going to be a good one and for once just some old fashioned muggle night was something Kiernan surely needed. Ever since he met that girl, he had been trying to think about his life in a different way but he knew deep down he was never going to be able to give up the adrenaline rush he felt whenever a quidditch game started and the sound of people cheering his name. Kiernan worked hard to get where he is today and yet tonight he wanted to pretend it wasn't there just so he could have fun with a friend.
"The usual amount of ladies dropping their knickers for you eh mate?" he teased with a smirk and drank from his beer. "Oh I've been good! Glad to be back in England. Everything has seemed so different since I left but I'm glad to be back here." Sure he loved India, America, Africa and even Japan but he knew whenever he crossed the English border he was where he was supposed to be, home. Kiernan smirked and nodded a bit at Gabriel's question. "Big time sure." he didn't think he was that big of a deal.
"Got a good contract with the Kestrels with my brother." he told Gabriel before drinking from his beer again, letting out a satisfied groan. "The family? Well my father recently passed, may he rest in hell and my mother however is coping quite well." he said with a small shrug. "I believe everyone is doing just fine." he didn't know much about how much mourning his siblings went through, he himself thought it was a relief that the old man was gone but that might just be him. Kiernan never got along with his father, not even when he was younger.
"How about you? How is the ministry career going? Can't be that bad right?"

Gabriel laughed, "You'd know enough about women dropping their panties, I don't need to regale with my adventures. I'm glad you're back. It's nice to have a little company." He glanced up at the footy game playing, shaking his head with a grin. "Don't play fake modest with me Kiernan. I know you love it." Already, he was relaxing, the atmosphere giving him a sense of serene, of normality. This was good for him. It was good to be out and about with people…old friends too. Kiernan seemed happy, which Gabriel was a little relieved about. He knew that the stresses of Quidditch often got to people, they couldn’t hand the physicality of it all. Same reason that people had left the auror training after years of yearning.
Although Kiernan wasn’t the most devastated about his loss, it brought pangs to Gabriel’s chest as he thought about his own estranged father, killed in a muggle accident. His own mother had been pretty indifferent towards his father’s passing besides the odd condolence to him and an owl to Aurora to see if he’d got any inheritance. It’d had driven him closer to the brother he’d recently met, that was for sure. “You’re okay?” He asked, a little bemused. He’d never had a close relationship with his father, and part of his small ideas to get closer died with his father.
He closed his eyes, wincing at the question. His hand creeped up to move onto the small scar the peeked out from under his shirt. He rubbed it, obscuring it from view before he spoke again. “Not to well uh. Well. I uh got let off. Work injury and they decided it was better off if I didn’t work for them anymore. Can we not talk about it? Sorry, it’s just…” both hands moved up and waved vaguely. “Enough talking about stuff like that! Decided to settle down yet, find a girl?” Tags: @kiernan
