With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!

Karaoke night! Lizzy was beyond excited for this because she really needed a moment to just let go of everything and release all the pressure she had been under in the past few days. Her hair was curly and draped on her shoulders as the woman waited in front of the bar for her friend. Of course she wasn't going to do karaoke all by herself and who best to do this with than one of her best friends? Who knows maybe they'd find some hot girls to sing with but Lizzy wasn't getting her hopes up.
The cold evening air didn't even bother her much, she enjoyed the weather like this. She liked it a bit cold where the only way to heat up is your own body making sure you stay warm. There were many, many ways to do that and Lizzy was excited to do it. With a grin on her lips she saw the handsome devil from a small distance coming closer and her arms spread to hug the man.
"Good to see you handsome!" she said and ruffled his hair because his hair was perfect for such action after she gave him a warm hug. "How have you been? Ready for karaoke?" she asked pointing at the sign behind her with a smirk on her face. Come on.. this was going to be fun!
Going out to a bar with an old classmate when he had a newborn baby at home probably wasn't the smartest idea Jēkabs had ever had, but then again, he'd never been known for impulse control. The benefit of being back in Britain was seeing the whole crew again, everyone who'd been on that awesome Hufflepuff team just a few years ago. He wasn't going to pass up the chance to hang out with Lizzy, whose Quidditch career was going even better than his own--she might even be able to buy some drinks, if he was lucky.
He was convinced that his girlfriend shouldn't care about him going out with her at all, having known for a long time that Lizzy swung the other way, and so he embraced her right back when he saw her sitting at the bar. "Tired, but when am I not? And how are you?" Every day he felt like he was more and more exhausted, but that was what going out was for--to get some relaxation, and his energy back.
But when Lizzy pointed at the sign behind her, drawing his attention to it for the first time, his eyebrows shot up, and he reacted before he could think. "Karaoke? But I can't sing!" There was only one solution to that, and while it also wasn't the smartest idea, Jēkabs hadn't acquired any more impulse control in the last few hours. "You'll have to get me drunker for that."
When Jānis had heard from his brother that he was going out for the evening with none other than their good ol' pal Lizzy, he'd pouted theatrically and demanded to know where his invitation was. In truth, he was a little bit hurt that she hadn't invited him directly, but he gave her the benefit of doubt -- maybe, just maybe she thought he'd stayed in Latvia? Whatever the reasons were, they weren't going to stop him from crashing their date. Tuuli will be able to enjoy some time alone to marinate in her hatred, and Jānis would enjoy some well deserved fun!
As they approached the meeting place,Jānis hid behind his brother's back, following his every step, trying to make sure that Lizzy wouldn't spot him until it was too late... It worked, as she proceeded to greet Jēkabs with a hug and a ruffle of his hair.
"And where is my hug, huh?" he asked, hands on his hips, the same theatrical pout on his lips once more. "Tsk, tsk, if you wanted karaoke, I should have been invited first! Jānis here can't even sing a lullaby right, whereas I..." His teasing was all in good nature, "If I wasn't busy trying to be a Quidditch player, I'd be a damn pop-star!"

Of course if Lizzy would've known that both her best friends were in the same country she would've invited Janis as well. Seeing Jekabs again after a while was really nice especially since the breakup she suffered not long ago. She loved Maggie and they broke it off.. staying friends but against all of Lizzy's will and wishes. Still even when Lizzy didn't swing the way men wanted her to, it was often delicious to see jealous girlfriends bitch about her presence in this world and more important, their boyfriend's world.
After hugging Jekabs her face lit up by the sight of Janis. "Hey handsome! Jekabs you didn't tell me your brother was in town!" she bumped his shoulder before hugging her pouty and dramatic friend. "Oh you both have to join me on karaoke! I mean come on it will be fun!" she rose her hand at the bartender ordering them all shots. "These are on me!" she said and downed a shot. She used to not drink the way she did now.. but that was before her heart was broken.
"Dude you will be a great quidditch player. I bet you can outfly Jekabs." she said with a teasing wink and groaned. "How have you been Janis? Where were the letters hmm?" she asked him with a small pout of her own. "I've been better but you know what solves problems? alcohol." she said and ordered another shot. Everyone who knew Lizzy knew she was quite self destructive once she gets hurt but she also taught her friends not to mention it without getting bitched at. Lizzy was a lady like that. "So what song are we doing first?"
"We're a package deal, what can I say?" Jēkabs answered, grinning at Lizzy. He wasn't sure what he would do if he had to live apart from his twin for a long time--not being able to play Quidditch with him anymore was bad enough. They'd been teammates for so long, from the second year of school to the World Cup! And besides, they were twins. Even if Jānis wasn't allowed to work, Jēkabs wasn't going to abandon him to live alone. Not in this country. "Don't worry, you'll get us both to sing. But we'll both need shots for that!" He picked up the second of the three drinks, swallowing it all in one go.
It had been a while since he'd gone out with anyone besides the team, and he was really looking forward to it, even if he knew it probably wasn't the smartest idea at this time. He'd missed Lizzy, really, even if they were opponents instead of teammates now on the Quidditch pitch.
"I'll pick a song, as long as one of you is going first. I'm a tall guy, I need at least one more shot before I can sing," Jēkabs said, amusement on his face. "What's on the list here?" he asked, peering over Lizzy's shoulder.
Jānis smiled and shut his eyes, scratching the back of his head, and his tone of was apologetic. "Sorry for the lack of letters, been having a bit of a rough patch in my life... But I couldn't agree more. Let's drink!" The twins were sat on both sides of the girl, and it didn't take long until he too had downed his first shot of the night. The alcohol burned his throat, making his face turn -- he had never been one for strong drinks, but he wasn't going to lag behind the other two.
"Pah, your height doesn't have anything to do with singing," Jānis snorted, "You're just afraid I'll out sing you. We both know I'm the better singer. I doubt they would, but does this joint have anything in Latvian on their list? Or, at least in Russian? Then the only one who'll know if you sing wrong, Jēkab, will be me." Grabbing another shot, he added, "Okay, if you sing in Russian, then everyone will know you're wrong."

Drinking with her two best buds was the most fun thing Lizzy could possibly think off so she was doing just fine at the moment. The woman downed shots like there was no tomorrow and while they were drinking their second, she had her fourth down, groaning as she did so because damn she missed this. Lizzy shivered for a moment before looking at the list once more, feeling Jekabs look over her shoulder like the little spy he was.
"So I don't know Russian but there is this french song I will kick your butts at. It's kind of unfair isn't it? being trilingual? Oh yes that's a thing now." she said with a smirk and tapped the bar for her fifth shot. "Mmm oh what does this mean, the name of the group sounds like an ambulance but i believe they're two hot lesbians." she said with a giggle. "You guys can sing that and I will sing whatever a luftballoon is." she said and got up, feeling a bit dizzy.
Nah she got this! "Hah he is just scared that I'll beat him Janis, you know it!"
"Hey, we're trilingual!" Not with French, of course, but Jēkabs didn't think it mattered. Latvians had skills! Or language classes since they were little kids, but hey, that didn't change the fact that he could speak three languages while most Brits couldn't. He was feeling a little bad about the number of shots that were going on Lizzy's tab at this point, but as she ordered another, he figured he needed something to keep up with both her and his brother, so he did the same. In seconds, another small colorful glass of liquid was in front of him, and he downed it, the flavor in the liquor complementing the burn of the alcohol.
At this point, Jēkabs definitely wasn't quite drunk yet, but he did feel pleasantly warm and fuzzy. Enough to make him push Lizzy gently toward the stage, grinning all the while. "You sing your balloons. By that time we'll be ready to be, uh, definitely not Russians or lesbians," he said, looking down at himself. He knew the song she was talking about from his childhood, and while he was pretty sure he couldn't sing high enough to actually match it, he could probably at least stay in tune most of the time, his shyness about singing forgotten. "We can win," he said, turning his grin to his brother.
"Fair? Life isn't fair, Lizzy," Jānis said, his hand reaching for another shot. He listened to his brother speak, not managing to keep an amused smirk off his face. Jēkabs really was a lightweight -- they'd been at the bar for what, 5 minutes? And Jēkabs was already starting to urge their mutual friend toward the stage.
"Excuse you, Jēkab, I always thought I'd make an exceptionally handsome lesbian," he said in a playfully offended tone before downing the shot he'd been holding in his hands. "Well, at least I'd make just as good of a lesbian as those Russians, which is to say they aren't lesbians at all. Marketing ploy... But we didn't come here to discuss that, did we? Ladies first! Go sing about those er, 99 balloons, Lizzy! You can do it!" and after a pause, "We'll still win, though!"

This song was very much not known to Lizzy, something about balloons and she had to sing in.. german? Was it german? She was nudged to go to the stage and Lizzy was ready. She made a little skip in her step and heard the boys behind her. "You're on!" she said turning around to point at them both with two fingers before getting on the stage and telling the guy with the power of the music what song she was going to sing. The melody was horrid and a part of her wanted to cry but she wasn't here to lose.
"Does this song come in English?" she asked the guy who nodded and set the lyrics to English. "Thank god!" she chuckled and eyed the screen for a moment. " Ninety-nine red balloons, Floating in the summer sky, Panic bells, it's red alert." she sang though she felt like her voice cracked because she couldn't take the song seriously and once she was done making a fool out of herself, she took a bow and almost tripped off the stage, reaching for a new shot.
"That was fun! And insane, you guys can pick my next song but its your turns now!"
