With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
For once it was her day off and Eva had found herself on the other side of the bar. The bar was quite empty and Finn was in the back doing the stock while Eva kept an eye out for him out here. Truth be told business was going to hell with the biggest source of income not being able to come back here. Tons of butterbeer went to waste, Eva couldn't even stand the sweet drink making her teeth sore by the pure thought of it alone.
Eva hummed a bit as she heard the little bell of the door ring as someone entered and turned to look who it is. "Well look at that." she commented and got up. "If it isn't my favorite asshole!" she said and walked over to Ciar to hug him. God she missed this goofball, in school they were quite close even when she was slightly younger than him.
"How have you been? Want a drink?" she asked and headed over to the bar. "No one is looking. I might steal one for myself."
Ciar had been doing some traveling in his spare time when he isn’t playing or at practice with his team. The male hadn’t been in the best headspace lately because of all that had happened over the holidays, and he needed some cheering up. Maybe Finn would brighten his day a bit, knowing that it could be a slow day due to the Hogwarts students not being able to come to Hogsmeade because of an unfortunate incident. It upsets him because he wasn’t able to see his kid sister until the summer holidays came, and even though she writes to him every now and then, it wasn’t the same.
Once he had arrived at The Three Broomsicks, he had stopped as he looked toward the castle with a tiny smile. He knew she was doing okay, and that she was safe there. Sure, the incident at the ball happened but he had heard that she wasn’t there when it happened.
A sigh had left him before he opened the door and headed inside. Okay, this was not good for business. When Eva had greeted him, it caused him to smile a bit more and he had hugged her back. ”My favorite bitch.” he said with a grin and looked at her. ”I’ve been well. Just doing the same shit.” he said and looked her over. ”Of course I do. You’re not working are you? How are you doing?”
Eva didn't expect to see Ciar here but yet here he was. The guy was a sight for sore eyes and she wouldn't mind sitting on his lap all night. The woman gave him a tired smile as he greeted her as his favorite bitch, now that's the Ciar she remembers. Eva started pouring drinks for them both not caring that she wasn't working and handed Ciar the glass before moving around the bar to sit with him somewhere.
"Just the same shit eh? So how many women are now so happy to have slept with the infamous Ciar Stevens." she teased and sipped from her drink. She would've done anything to be on his team but she fucked up for herself a while back. "I am not, just helping out here out of boredom." she said with a grin and eyed Ciar. "I've been.. well... decent." she said and frowned. "Trying to get back on the broom but it's been tough." she admitted.
If Ciar was a few years younger, he would have tried to get into his friends pants but he had learned to respect her over the few years they had known each other. He was there when the news of Ava dying, something that would never leave his mind. He hated how this world was destroying lives, it made him want to pull all his friends close to him and never let go. ”Well, I haven’t done much of sleeping around lately.” he admitted sadly, taking his glass and took a sip of it. He was trying to cool it, trying to become a better man rather than using someone. Maybe it was time to move on, like his family had been telling him for a while.
The male had glanced at Eva for a moment when she told him she was trying to get back on the broom. ”Need help? I have a lot of spare time.” he told her with a tiny smile, cocking his head to the side.
”Eh, it’s treating me very well. Great pay. Just trying to hide on the days I have off. Avoid the cameras.”
The pro life wasn't easy, neither was the single life. Her dark locks were tied up in a bun because she knew at some point she had to actually do her job rather than drinking her job. Sure she was here only to help but eh she was bored and it needed to be done. The woman arched her brow a little and just started cleaning a bit more while she listened to Ciar. She could do more things at once whether people believed her or not was a whole other tale.
Her blue eyes moved to look at her friend, her nose wiggled a little because of the chemicals. "Mmm oh really? What's stopping you?" she asked him and cocked her head a little at it. "The women ran out?" she teased and let out a small sigh as she continued cleaning. "If you don't mind getting those golden hands dirty, grab some cleaning materials." she said with a chuckle and shook her head. She'd had to do it all over again by the end of the day because she doubted Ciar could actually clean anything.
"I'm glad to hear that." she said though she envied him she knew she was never getting back on the broom.
Many people knew Ciar as the attention whore, the guy who loved the cameras flashing at him when he and his team would walk off the Quidditch pitch after a win or loss. But that season they were doing good, something he wasn’t surprised one bit because he wanted to believe both her and his brother were the dream team. They weren’t afraid to play rough, a thing people learned from the Stevens brothers when they played at Hogwarts. He wasn’t ashamed of himself, but lately he had been hiding and not wanting to face the drama outside of work.
There was a chuckle from Ciar at his friend’s joke about the woman running out and he shook his head. ”Nah. I...just haven’t been in the mood? I might have a brain tumor, I know. It’s weird that I don’t have a lady or guy in my bed.” he said and looked around the pub for a moment. Well, if someone wanted to report that Ciar pretty much admitted he liked to bed both men and women, he was screwed on the family front. He had no idea what it would do to his fame.
”You know, you’re the only woman I’ve seen all week that hadn’t thrown themselves at me.” he said and grabbed some cleaning materials to start cleaning.
These days reputations could either make you or break you. The fact that Ciar had the reputation of a ladies man made him quite popular among the ladies but also the gossip sections of the newspaper. After all, that's what gossip was hunting for, people with a desire to be close to someone even when it's in their own silly ways. Eva's sister was a headliner and only because Eva was her sister. She was certain her sister's death wouldn't even have made the front page if Eva wasn't famous around here. Yet there had never been a person caught for the crime.
"Well as long as you're happy, I'm happy for you." Eva wasn't going to judge Ciar for being bi and honestly it shouldn't even be big news if he was. Sometimes people really tended to overreact when it came down to the sexuality of people in the spotlight position. It shouldn't matter anymore and Nothing could make Eva stop believing that. "Well don't take it as an insult but you're not my type." she said with a wink and cleaned some more glasses.
"I am sure there will be enough change in that whenever you walk out into the streets.. on a busy day." she didn't want to offend Ciar because he was a handsome man but he just wasn't the type she'd sleep with.
