With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?

Man, these holidays are going forever, aren't they? I love not having do blasted school work, but man, I've had just enough of seeing my parents and their gross PDA. They're always touching. Leo says it's just 'cause they love each other, but can't they do that somewhere else so I don't want to spray my eyes with loo cleaner?

Ha ha, very funny. Of course you're coming back to school. It's mandatory, dummy. Otherwise I wouldn't come back if my life depended on it. Although knowing mum and dad... they'd try and make me.
What? The Prophet? Rue, why would the most widespread newspaper in the wizarding world be mentioning you? I mean, you're cool and stuff but not cool enough that they splash your face on the front paper of the Prophet.

I was thinking my mum might have put something there about me but--I thought about it and I know how things are with her and the Squib thing. It's alright.
What the hell's going on, Rue? Do I need to kick somebody's arse? You know I'll do it if I need to. Where are you if you're not at home? Like... in London, or in a hospital other than St. Mungos, or... in Merlin forbid, Wales? Are you safe?

I'm in Scotland somewhere. In a forest. I think it's somewhere near Glasgow, from what people are telling me. I got attacked, but I think I'm fine now. Or at least mostly fine. They had some stuff to heal me with, but I'm not really totally healed.
I don't think you should come looking for me, though. At least not alone. It wouldn't be safe. It's cold and things are dangerous.
Maybe you can help sort things out, though. I can keep telling you where I am, if I know.
In a forest? What the hell? How'd you manage to get in a forest? That's weird. Dude, how bad were you attacked? Like... you still have both your eyes, right? Okay, so. Here's what happened.
I went out shopping before Christmas and I didn't know it was the full moon and someone bit me and then someone found me and put the healing stuff on but they brought me here and now I don't really have anywhere else I can go not school not anywhere but you can't come here either.
I still have both my eyes. And I'm not a ghost like Nick. It was more my shoulder.
...can you send them something? If they've been trying to write me then it hasn't reached me. Mum doesn't have an owl though because she doesn't like them. So maybe that's why.
What the fuck hell bit you, Rue?! A werewolf? Wait, are you a werewolf now? I'm not the Jordan who's scared of werewolves so you don't need to worry about that. I just want to know. Can't I meet you somewhere though? Like... if I figure out where you are over the Easter break, we could meet in the middle of where you are and where I am? I just want to see you.

Yes. Exactly that. Now you know I mean it when I say I'm not coming back. Even if I made it home it's not like I could go back to school with you.
And... thanks for letting my parents think I'm safe. I think my mum would lose her mind if she knew what happened to me and I can't do that to her, I can't. If she writes you back can you make up something? Or do you need me to come up with a story?
And I sort of am safe, anyway. I'm alive and I have food and all that. People always say to be thankful for what you have, so I'm going to try that.
If I keep telling you where I am, do you think you can get free to see me on the break? I don't know if we'll still be at this camp then. We have to move sometimes. But I'll do my best! Do you remember when Easter is? I'm not sure I do...
