With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!

HISTORY
The family had a reputation for strangeness. Somewhere in between changing their last name to claim an Ancient Roman connection, weird magical science experiments in the basement of their mansion, and that one guy who tried to “breed a better wizard” by having children with people with all sorts of magical powers?
Yeah, that’s the family Zoë Valeria was born into.
She grew up as an only child with only her mother Florence for company. Her grandparents were dead, an accident when Florence had been a child, and Zoë never knew her father, though her mother assured her that he was definitely a pureblood wizard.
That was why, Florence explained, Zoë was supposed to like life in the mansion better than outside it. She was supposed to enjoy the dinner parties thrown in a desperate attempt to maintain the family reputation over meeting the children in town to play with. But there was nothing Zoë hated more than itchy dress robes and getting her long brown hair brushed and curled (because, of course, she was never allowed to cut it short).
And that was how she became best friends with the house-elf. She chatted to him about anything and everything, swearing him to secrecy since she was just as much his master as her mother was. The friendship kept Zoë sane when she felt like she was all alone. When she took her mother’s broomstick out for a spin in the garden and fell into a giant rosebush, he helped her patch herself up before Florence could notice.
But the real freedom came when Zoë went to Hogwarts. It was barely a few weeks into her first term when she’d convinced a third-year to bring her some hair bleach from Hogsmeade--mundane or magical, she hadn’t cared or remembered. What she did remember was standing hunched over the dorm bathroom sink with scissors and gloves, chopping her hair to her chin and turning it bright blonde. She remembered looking in the mirror and realizing that she had chosen how she looked for the first time. It was glorious.
The summer before her sixth year, though, was when the worst clash of all between Zoë and her mother began. Without consulting her--probably because she knew exactly what Zoë’s reaction would be--Florence set up an arranged engagement à la some medieval royalty to one of her classmates. At least Rodrik was already a friend, but Zoë made it clear to him--and her mother--in no uncertain terms: Never. I’m gay and even if I wasn’t… I would never be humiliated like that.
Mia-Rose was searching for her cat around the castle again. Like her owner, Maisie was determined to do whatever she wanted at any time, and the little calico seemed to be bored of being carried around for the day. Mia-Rose had been fine with her jumping out of her backpack and playing until the cat had run out of the library, forcing her to chase after. She knew the cat was smart and independent, but she was a cat, not a witch. Mia-Rose didn't want to think about what would happen if she got into one of the many dangerous situations around the castle.
Pulling open the slightly ajar door of the trophy room, she poked her head in, scanning the shelves for a flash of white, orange, and black. "My cat," she said, finding a curly-haired boy instead, "have you seen her? Small and calico. The door was open enough for her to come in here, so--" She trailed off, shrugging, not knowing exactly how to continue the sentence.
And so she was surprised when the boy jumped up nervously, nearly yelling at her. She almost jumped back herself, but steadied herself, readjusting her green tie. "Hey, chill. I'll just look around, and leave you alone, alright?" Stepping inside, she began to look inside the cups of the trophies near the door, knowing that they were the perfect size for a cat to sleep in. Unfortunately, she was having no luck with that, but just as she was about to leave, she saw a little paw batting at something on the floor.
"Maisie!" she said, her voice immediately becoming softer. She scooped up the cat, whose claws had caught on a bit of yarn attached to some needles. "Whose is this?" she asked, picking up the project in her other hand and freeing it from Maisie's paws. It wasn't hers--she'd have known if she lost one of her own projects in the trophy room.
