With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
Blake had off from work that day and decided that she needed to go out for a run before she lost all motive to stay in shape. She didn't particularly need to with her being a werewolf and all but she needed to keep herself going and herself healthy. She didn't want to have to go through anything else at the moment. With being a werewolf came the stress and the judgment, even though she was turned against her will there were others who thought it to be her fault and all the negativity. She was fine with being judged for a decision forced upon her but in life everyone should be thought of as equal. Blake was currently running in the woods where her "beast" felt more at home. As she was running she got distracted by birds flying when she tripped over a tree log and fell down and began to roll down a hill. When she finally came to a stop she groaned and just laid there looking at the sky for a moment. Yup her ponytail probably had leafs in it.
Running till his lungs gave out was what he wanted to do at the very least, or so Jonathan told himself. He had just had yet another run in with people who didn’t understand that don’t come any closer, means exactly that. The bludgeoning spell he send their way might have been a bit much, but having the back up from his boss made it a lot easier when he was asked by a passing auror why he went that far. His head was still messing with him, more often than not. Especially when it concerned people getting close or suggesting a bit too much intimacy than he was comfortable with.
Having already run his familiar route through the forest he was doing his hill run, rising and falling with the hills themselves. Taking a bit of a breather as he was at the bottom of one of the hills as he heard what sounded like someone being uncomfortable. Looking up he saw someone rolling down the hill, which Jonathan classified as uncomfortable, unless someone was into that sorta thing. Taking a step backwards as she started to come to a stop, but not far enough as she landed on his feet, making his lose his balance a bit.
Managing to stay upright, if only for the weight on his feet, he finally righted himself from finding his balance. ’’Well what do you know, it’s not only me falling on pretty girls, pretty girls also fall on me, though I think I’d go for the less natural look.’’ As Jonathan mentioned the last part he plucked a stick and some very early leaves out of the girl’s hair. ’’I have to say, I don’t meet many people running around these parts, aside from myself, Jonathan by the way, I’d say nice to meet you, but my feet disagree.’’ He said with a smirk, to let her know it wasn’t bad and extended a hand to help her up.
Blake was really hoping that no one had seen her fall and when she had let out a huff she knew she wasn't since apparently she landed on someone's feet. Blake looked up to see a boy standing above her and that she had definitely landed on his feet. Yup, she lost all her pride right about now. 'You're such an idiot Blake' she thought madly to herself. When he spoke about the pretty girls falling on him and not the other way around, she couldn't help but laugh. "Well Romeo, how many girls have you said that to? Because I most certainly feel honored if you ask me" she joked along with him.
She sighed but she took his hand and stood up on her feet. She brushed whatever dirt she had on herself before looking at him. "Sorry about that, I was running really fast and tripped and came down this hill. Also nice to meet you Jonathan, I'm Blake and are your feet okay?" The blonde asked curiously.
Chuckling as she responded to him as he pulled her up he replied. ’’Well that would be none, most are rather surprised.’’ Seeing her brush of the dirt that was on her he couldn’t help but grin as he heard what she had been doing to get to that point. ’’ Nice to meet you Blake, I have to say my feet are okay, but I guess it did mark the end of my running for the day, unless I sit down for a bit, stretch and you know the drill. What about your back and ribs though, after all my feet aren’t exactly the softest bits to land on’’
He found himself talking rather easily with the blonde in front of him, which was rather odd for him. On the other hand, he was doing one of the things he loved most and that was physical exercise to empty his mind of all other negative things and attributed it to that. ’’I guess we could run a bit more and sit down at my work place, my treat, reminds me I work at the Three Broomsticks.’’
Blake couldn't help but feel honored? She just simply shrugged it off but she did nod anyway, not everyone liked having conversations with strangers but Blake didn't mind it all that much, plus she could protect herself if something wrong happened here. "Well some probably are or they're just embarrassed that they fell or tripped in the first place" Blake simply shrugged nonchalantly. When he talked about how he is okay and that his feet weren't all damaged. "I'm sorry I ruined both of our running days, believe me I love to run but I feel bad that you had to stop to watch one of my most embarrassing moments come to life" Blake was kind of embarrassed since she definitely did bust her ass so bad and fell on his feet. "I'm also fine, nothing too damaging" she was a werewolf so pain wasn't really an issue.
When Jonathan asked if she wanted to run a bit more and then go to his job, she thought about out before she looked at the woods and then him. "Well Jonathan.. I'll race you to the entrance.. Starting now!" Blake then bolted in the direction of the main entrance to the woods. She didn't even look to see if he was coming, she just ran.
Copying her shrug about people feeling embarrassed about things like that, he really couldn’t help himself. The reason was not that she was shrugging it off, no the reason was far less friendly than that. The reason was that people almost seem to make a point of embarrassing him, which he sometimes liked when it got returned. Waving away her apology of the ruining of their running days he sized her up a bit more. Without being creepy about it he hoped at the very least. Smiling as she said she was fine he knew what he had just asked her. Almost expecting her to decline he braced his feet anyway.
She’d race him to the entrance…starting, the only words in his mind were ‘Oh damn.’ As he bolted after her. Low blow Blake, very low blow. Then again you didn’t get past my feet before.’’ With that the fit young man poured on the speed and caught up to her, if his thoughts were correct pulling slightly ahead. ’’Come on, slowpoke.’’ Jonathan couldn’t help it, he had to laugh. Knowing he had to run, really run if he wanted to either stay ahead or keep up. She was just that fast. ’’Loser gives the other one their floo address? In case of wanting more races?’’
Okay the young broomsticks employee might have asked that with a bit of labored breath, but he finally had found decent competition. Well competition for now, who knew if he’d get a regular training companion out of it? Probably only the girl next to him. So far Jonathan was impressed even though he had only just started the catch up and keep level. With all the others said that they ran he had pulled far ahead. With him running for the last 5 or six years, but this was new to him and he liked it.
Blake heard him running behind her trying to catch up with her, she wasn't as fast as she knew she could be but she was fast enough, she saw that he was next to her running to keep up with her, he seemed fast but with her being the werewolf she had her advantage when it came to running. The blonde fake gasped. "I am not that slow Johnny boy, maybe you are and you're too afraid to admit it" Blake teased him, she didn't think he was slow at all, he seemed to be fast for being a non-werewolf. When he talked about the loser giving the other their floo address and she grinned and nodded. "Your on, I hope you know you'll be the one losing" Blake grinned before taking off once more.
Blake ran faster then she did but not really fast to show who she really was. It took her about five minutes before she got to the entrance and she turned around to grin at Jonathan.
Jonathan was a lot of things, but one thing he was not, afraid to admit when he was wrong. The thing was that he knew he was fast and kept going. ’’Even if I am the one losing, I will get something out of it Blakey.’’ Putting on one final burst of speed he wasn’t able to keep up, but he had miscalculated a bit in his speed. He was going so fast that he had no chance of standing still without either falling over, or a slip and slide. Seeing Blake turn only a few steps literally in front of him he squeezed his eyes shut and gave a rather frightened excuse. ’’Sorry.’’
His heels were digging in the ground, but with the snow still lightly on the pathways it turned into a slide. Only half missing Blake he slammed bodily into her and into the Broomsticks door. ’’Floo address is Young’s solace. Also drinks were on me, after I pick myself up’’ Grunting a bit in pain as he plucked a splinter the size of his pink out of his leg. Jonathan limped to get the drinks.
Blake couldn't help but laugh at the nickname that he had given her. Her brother Bailey called her Blakey from time to time but hearing it from Jonathan's mouth was funny since the two had just met. "Yeah and what will that be charmer?" She asked as she kept running full speed. When Blake got to the door before him, she saw that he was going to fast and that it could end in disaster. Blake tried to catch him but he still got hurt. "Are you okay?" She asked kind of worried.
When he limped to go get the drinks she felt bad, that looked like it really hurt and she felt so guilty because she felt like she was the cause of it.
Coming back from getting the drinks with a pain shooting up his leg that wasn’t funny in any way shape or form he came back to her earlier comment, or should he say question. ’’What I get out of this is simple. At the very least a conversation while we drink, Maybe a training partner and just maybe a friend. More specifically a female friend. As to if I am okay or not, well we’ll see. All I know for now is that splinters as big as my pink hurt like you wouldn’t believe when being removed.’’
Putting the drink to his lips he studied her a bit more. Not a drop of sweat, hell she didn’t even look winded from the run they had just had. ’’So are you like a professional athlete I mean I know I am not slow, not by a long shot, but that was something else?’’ Taking the third bottle he had and laying it in his neck to cool down a bit.
