With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!

The dance ruined whatever Rose planned to tell Frankie. She was going to admit her feelings but of course some asshats had to destroy any chance she had to do so. The redhead was livid and if she saw any of them again she'd rip their eyes out for destroying her spotlight moment. With a sigh she waited for Frankie to wake up, her leg bouncing up and down as she was seated in a big armchair.
Rose looked around a bit, a christmas gift on the table while she was hung up on the time. tick tock, why did she need to sleep as long as she did? Of course it was early and Rose barely managed to sleep at all. If her cousins would see her like this they might think of her as a maniac but she wanted to tell Frankie how she felt and if Frankie didn't feel the same way, which was a thought that wasn't there, she might die inside.
There were footsteps and her heart skipped a beat. Rose grabbed the box and held onto it nervously.
The dance was a disaster and it had caused nightmares for Frankie Evans, and she barely slept for the past few nights because of it. The lack of sleep had put her in a sour mood, and she didn’t want to deal with idiots. The Christmas holidays are around the corner, and she was already planning on going home to her adopted parents. She had no idea what her adopted brother planned, but all she knew, she wanted to be home for Christmas because she hated Hogwarts right now. Part of her wanted to leave, but she didn’t want to leave Rose behind.
Frankie had been awake for no more than five minutes when she stumbled out of her dorm room, and had let out a yawn. BIG MISTAKE. The moment she had started to yawn was the moment when she reached the stairs, and she started to stumble her way down the stairs, trying to catch herself on anything but she ended up at the bottom of the stairs, flat on her back and her body spread out like a rag doll.
And it had taken her a few moments that she had made such a lovely entrance in front of her best friend, her date to the ball and the girl she liked.

Rose watched Charlie coming out of the dorm but she didn't just walk out of the dorm, she basically flew out. It was like it happened in slow motion, the girl just slipping and slowly falling to the ground. The redhead almost dropped the box as she watched her fall. It took her a bit to even respond to what was happening in front of her. Her eyes grew wider, her arms putting the box down on the coffee table before she finally managed to get up and head towards Frankie.
"Are you okay?" she asked as she slowly sank down on her knees to sit beside her. "You're not hurt are you? I am not that good with healing spells yet." she said and bit her lip as she looked at her best friend. "I mean I am good but the best thing I can fix is a broken nose.. or tiny bones." she rambled a little and held her hand out for Frankie.

It had taken Frankie a few moments to even feel the pain coursing through her body, and her cheeks were flushed with embarrassment. She did not just fall down the staircase in front of her crush. This was not happening. God, she wish this was a terrible dream and she’d wake up in her dorm room not feeling any pain her body was currently giving her. It hurt like hell, but she was going to put on a brave face because she didn’t want to show weakness in front of Rose. Her eyes had went onto the redhead in question, and she leaned up on her elbows.
”Well, I don’t need coffee now. I’m wide awake.” she had said, and looked at Rose before bringing a hand to her own eyes to wipe the sleep from them. ”I’m fine. Just give me a minute. Not every day I get a free ride down the staircase in front of my….best friend.” she said with a forced grin.

Honestly she would have noticed the shame if it wasn't for the fact that Frankie probably fell and hurt herself during the fall. The redhead had a worried expression as she looked at her best friend. Her eyes looked her over, wondering if she hurt anything specific. "Oh coffee? We could get some.." she suggested. "Or tea.." she wasn't much of a coffee person personally but if Frankie wanted to get coffee, Rose wasn't going to stop her.
Rose took her hand back and nodded. Right, best friend, act normal Rose. The redhead nodded with a chuckle. "You're an idiot sometimes." She told her and shook her head. "Well when you're ready have a seat with me." she cocked her head a bit. "You don't have a concussion right?"

Frankie had used Rose’s help to get back onto her feet, and she bit her lip as her body had protested. Yep, she was going to feel all this now and later, maybe several days from now. But she needed a distraction, something to take her mind off the pain her body was giving her and she secretly wished she had died because that was honestly embarrassing, and she hated herself for being so clumsy in front of her friend. Now, if it was someone else, she’d laugh it off and whine all day in her dorm room. But nope, this had to happen when Rose was nearby.
”But I’m your idiot.” she said, and moved toward the chair, sitting down. Did she just call herself Rose’s idiot? Well, she can’t take it back now. She had to deal with whatever Rose had planned. ”I sure hope not.”

Rose didn't know what to say when Frankie called herself, her idiot. She knew that she loved her but did Frankie just slip she felt the same way? This was making things so much harder! The redhead helped her to her seat before grabbing the present she bought for her and handed it to Frankie with her cheeks flushed red. Rose held the box out with a new smile on her face, she taught herself a long time ago to smile through anything.
"Merry Christmas Frankie." she said and sat down in her own seat. "I hope you like it, It took me a while to get it and gosh I think it's worth it." A leather jacket, the right size, perfect right? The redhead smiled a bit and ran a hand through her red curls. This was going to be worth it, she had to tell herself that.
Frankie had been embarrassed the moment she took her trip down the staircase, but she was feeling better now that Rose didn’t question her slip up. Otherwise, she would die and go straight to Hell. The female was sure there was a place for her down there. Her thoughts were interrupted when Rose presented her with a box, and she smiled a bit as she took it. A little late, but it would never hurt, right? Frankie had been wanting to give her a present herself and it was currently up in her dorm room, and she sure as hell wasn’t going to go back up those stairs anytime soon.
”You didn’t have to get me anything…” she said as she unwrapped the box, opening it and setting the cover on the floor next to her seat. A small gasp had left the girl when she removed the tissue paper, and she took the jacket out slowly. ”You shouldn’t have…” she said and frowned a bit. This was not a cheap gift either.

Rose arched her brow for a moment, nervous what Frankie would think of her present and waited in suspense as she watched her unwrap. She felt her heart stuck in her throat and yet she managed to compose herself well enough to not show it bothered her. She didn't want to come off like some puppy girl to her best friend. Her eyes were on her friend as she watched her take the jacket out, her gasp sounding good. Like the surprise you feel when someone gives you something special.
"Of course I had to, what kind of friend would I be without giving you a present for Christmas?" she asked with a chuckle and cocked her head a bit. "It's specially made for you, there is no jacket like it." she added and grinned a bit. "Well put it on." she said nudging her with her foot. The girl watched Frankie closely, she just wanted to make her happy and she really wanted to tell her how she felt but she had no idea how to start.
"I feel bad we never finished our dance.." she said and bit her lip. "We should do it again.. the dance I mean.." she felt so nervous now when she shouldn't feel nervous at all.
Frankie stared in amazement at the jacket as she looked at it, and her fingers traced along the logo in the back. This was something she would keep close to her, and not let anyone else touch because the girl she loved gave it to her. This was the best gift she could ask for, and she was worried that Rose wouldn’t like her gift at all. Frankie didn’t come from a rich family, and only bought things that she needed, and well brought gifts to those that are her friends on a budget. It was a little embarrassing, but it was true and her friends would like the gifts nonetheless.
When she felt Rose nudge her leg, Frankie smiled as she stood up and put her arms through the sleeves. She didn’t care about her body was protesting, she cared about this jacket more. She wanted to make Rose happy, and this could be a start. ”I’m in love with it.” she told her friend as she adjusted her hair a bit and adjusted the jacket after. It was comfortable. ”It’s nice and warm.” she told her friend as she turned around to show off the back of it.
She then froze when Rose brought up the dance, and she looked up the staircase for a moment as she slowly turned back around. ”You want to dance? Now?” she asked. She wasn’t sure what Rose wanted.

Admitting how she felt was like admitting to all the flaws she had. Rose was beyond nervous and really didn't need her best friend to turn away from her. She didn't need Frankie to tell her there was someone else, that she went out with Rose to the ball as just friends. Rose's eyes were on Frankie as she put on the jacket, she knew she was spoiling her and Rose didn't care if Frankie didn't get her a single thing. She wanted Frankie to be happy and Rose just really wanted to show Frankie how she felt.
"It looks amazing on you, I knew I wouldn't fail giving you the perfect gift." she said with a smirk. There was at least pride found in that. With a hum she looked at Frankie, she really tried to sound clear about what she wanted but Frankie seemed confused, wondering for them to dance right now. "Of course not, you are still hurt silly." Rose said quickly and fiddled with her shirt a bit more. "No I meant.." she tried to find the right words for it, tried to make sense out of it. How was she going to tell Frankie she wanted another date?
"I was hoping we could go out again.." she said, her cheeks flushing red. "On a date.."

The nerves were settling in as she thought about how the dance had gone to hell and she was afraid she’d never have that chance to be close to Rose again. All she wanted was to be close to Rose, hand in hand. God, she had caught the feelings bad and she kinda hated it. It was bad enough that Felix knew about her feelings for Rose, remembering her little slip up. At least he wasn’t going to blab it out to others because he would be a dead man walking. Frankie trusted Felix with her life, she knew he wouldn’t betray her trust.
Frankie looked at her best friend, her head tilting to the side when she thought about what Rose had said. A date? Did she just admit her feelings? At first there was confusion on her face before she relaxed and she nodded. ”I would love that.” she said with a tiny smile.

There, she did it. She said it. There was no turning back and the panic inside Rose's head was setting in hard and deep. The redhead was sitting there, wondering if the panic was visible on her features which was bad so she adjusted herself real quick, as elegant as she possibly could be and looked at Frankie as she awaited her response. What if Frankie didn't like her that way? What if she imagined the smiles, the looks and everything she thought was real.. what if she was just seeing things and going crazy?
Oh god she was going crazy wasn't she?
It was then that Frankie spoke, the moment where Rose felt like she might have to run and hide. "Really?" she asked not even sure if she believed the words out of Frankie's mouth. Did she really want to go out on a date with her? Rose didn't even think it all through and now she said yes? The redhead had to improvise at best, she had to come up with something and pretend she had made the right preparations. Always be prepared was something her mother told her and now here she was, lacking preparations.
"How about a picnic on the grounds? or at the lake?" she needed to be out of sight though.. she didn't need people to blab about her. "I mean we can do whatever you want really.. even stay indoors and just.. have a late dinner.." she offered. Truth be told she wasn't really well known with dating, she read romantic novels sure but they were novels.

Frankie had taken a seat on the chair nearby, looking at Rose and noting the nervousness she seemed to be having in that moment. Did Rose just ask her out? Yes, she did. The thought made her want to squeal but she kept herself composed, looking at her friend - her long time crush as she listened to her ideas for a date. Sure, she’d love to go to the village for something like this but that was out of the question due to what had happened in Hogsmeade. Her eyes went toward the window when Rose offered a picnic on the grounds or near the lake, making her frown for a moment. In dead winter? Maybe that would be a date for another time.
”A picnic sounds nice for a warm day. A late dinner sounds like a wise idea for now.” she said with a sweet smile, looking toward the stairs as she heard a noise, her eyebrows raising when she noticed one of the fifth years walking with a grumbling tired look.

Truth be told, Rose was beyond scared. She was naturally very confident but when it came to Frankie her knees would turn jelly and her mind would blank like there was nothing in her head. What if Frankie saw the moments of panic? How could she even like a girl experiencing that. The redhead turned her brown eyes towards Frankie and chewed on her lip as her idea was as stupid as she felt in that moment. Of course it wasn't warm enough for a damn picnic.. where was your head in this Rose? Rose felt like facepalming but instead just used one of her charming smiles as if she was aware of the problem all along.
"Well of course it's too cold silly. I meant for a future thing for sure." she said so convincing she even convinced herself of it. "Dinner it is then, we could sneak to the kitchens and let the elves prepare us something nice." she said with a small nod of her own head and smiled at Frankie. She was totally rocking the confidence thing right? Rose moved her hair from one side to her other side with a swift movement, it was something she did quite often, and just thought about what else they could do.
"So you're okay with going out for dinner? I never did this before so I'm not quite sure how to approach this."
