With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
Things were hard when I could only see you on the Hogsmeade visits and now that cannot happen... let's just say that Christmas cannot come fast enough.
Debbie has been preparing the Christmas cake since December 1st, so if we don't get drunk off that then there'll be the mulled wine shared about the kitchen tent with a yule log and some of the kids have already begun to 'make' Miss Scarlett some presents because they're just a little excited.
The full moon is on December 23, so we should be able to spend Christmas Eve together safely. I've saved a restorative draught to take so that I'm not too much of a grumpy guts the morning after.
How is school? Tell me everything... also should I write to your father and formally request we spend Christmas together? I don't... I don't really know what the protocol is. I know he's not too fond of you dating a werewolf so I have a bad feeling he will say no... maybe I should just kidnap you like those ancient stories of the evil Santa Claus?
But I guess then the papers would get ahold of that story and totally twist it into the deep, dark horror story of big bad wolf kidnaps little Red Riding Hood. Isn't it ironic that my name is Lupin, almost like wolf and you're Scarlett being another word for Red. Bet the journalists would have a field day with that word play.

Christmas cannot come fast enough indeed. The ban is understandable perhaps but it's ruining my good mood in this castle. The thought of staying here a day longer is probably going to make me some super villain.
Debbie is a gem, I can't wait to see the kids and be there with you. I can't wait to see what the kids made me, everything they can make is going to be precious. Kids are making me weak what is happening to me?
School is school my love, it's the endless war between humanity and the unknown I'm afraid. A vampire girl was so close to losing herself and now she will be a victim of a witch hunt. Not literally but the murderous looks in classes speak more than a thousand words sometimes.
My father won't say yes even when you ask gently and bribe him with his favorite drink but it's a nice gesture my mother would appreciate and if anyone would let me go it's my mother. She might sound like someone who doesn't do anything for her kids but she stood up for me more than I can count. I'll be there my criminal Santa.. if you wear a red outfit I must sit in your lap no?
Don't worry too much about the papers and what they will say Teddy. They don't know the truth and you know the only thing those vultures feed on is fear. How are the children? How are you despite of all of this?
Just out of curiosity, do you see yourself as a mentor or more like a father to the children? They seem to look up to you a lot.
Love,
Scarlett

Every day this past two weeks has been filled with visits from aurors as they try to hunt down the wolf that attacked the MacMillian boy. despite my protests and telling them that they should spend more time with the Trossachs... well I fear that our pack needs to go into deeper hiding, like they are. Perhaps being so transparent with the Ministry is not working too well in our favour. They're abusing the Cotswolds' good will and I've about had enough.
Anyway, sorry for venting to you my love.
A vampire? In class? In school, even? Wow, I'm surprised they're allowed - though I guess I've only really been focused on werewolf business to be quite frank. Is she ok? Are you safe? My heart goes out to the girl - it's horrible to be persecuted for being different... and I certainly know what it feels like to be out of control. Is she getting help?
Ok so it's a plan. I'm going to steal you away, you have to sit on my lap... I have to admit I rather quite enjoy when you do that... I'll leave a note for your mother just so she doesn't fret.
The kids are OK despite the intrusive aurors. Luckily they're too excited about Christmas to worry too much about anything else. When I have free time, I like to play around with them - at the camp fire I tell them ghost stories but I'm so busy lately I can't spend as much time with them as I'd like to. They particularly enjoy when I do my impression of an ugly duckling. Most of the younger ones quack at me as a hello.

Don't worry about it, I have been dealing with... things here as well. Can't those aurors give it a rest? Your kids did nothing wrong did they? I sometimes hate the system but they're only doing what they're told too. I keep reminding myself of that. Aurors are puppets whether they like to hear it or not. I am terribly sorry to hear that you're having a hard time with this, if I can do anything do let me know. I will do whatever I can to help.
Alana will be fine, she's a good friend and I know she is a strong girl. Her life has turned upside down and inside out, all I can do is be there for her but knowing her she doesn't need it. I hope she's getting help.
Being stolen by the man of my dreams, it's like a fairytale. You do have a very comfortable lap, I won't even hesitate to spend time in it.
You are so good to these kids, have you ever thought about fatherhood? I think you'd be amazing at it. Christmas is so close, I can almost taste it.
Love and miss you more,
Scarlett
