With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!

And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain
❧
It was the first morning back from home and Kaylie was covering her face with a hoodie. The bruises on her face weren't fully healed and this was not the time for her to go social with her girl who she wanted to impress not make her feel sorry for her.
Kaylie had given everyone so far a cold shoulder, not having seen Alana yet or her brother for that matter. The blonde groaned as she stretched her arm out to reach for toast.
"Fucking ribs.." she mumbled but then the toast appeared on her plate and she rolled her eyes. "Thank you invisible bud.." she whispered to herself, not wanting people to think she is nuts as well.
Despite this being Aiden’s second year as a prefect at the school, Alana still was not used to heading down to breakfast by herself. Every now and then her brother had the early morning patrol that meant the rather inflexible girl would have to get up before the sun or wait until almost brunch time should she desperately want her brother’s amiable companionship during breakfast. Granted, this whole morning ritual was more to keep up appearances as Alana no longer are solid food. In the quiet depths of her dormitory room the little witch had hidden an enchanted thermo-bag to keep her blood bags at a decent temperature and she’d already had her fill this particular morning.
Clad in the supple deep purple dragonhide boots, the young vampire finally came to a stop beside Kaylie. ”Aw you don’t need imaginary buddies, not when I’m here,” the girl purred as she took a seat. It didn’t take too long for the blonde to realise that Kaylie wasn’t OK though, ”Kaylie, what’s wrong?”

So far she was doing great at avoiding conversation about herself but of course her girlfriend would find her, for once her other half wasn't glued at her side and she wished right there to be dead. Kaylie took a deep breath which made her whine a bit in pain before taking off the hood.
"Don't be loud in your response." she said in a hushed tone and looked at her with a bruised eye, her skin still in a purple shade and her eye bloodshot.
A cut was in her lip but it was nearly healed, she managed to at least fix that.
"I am just a little sore that's all." she said softly and looked at Alana with a small smile. "You look like you just walked out of a fashion magazine, how do you do it?"
With no fresh blood in her wounds, Kaylie's beaten state would be a very unpleasant surprise for the young vampire. She nodded in agreement that she would keep quiet because.. well she wasn't exactly known for being outrageously loud like one of her younger classmates (-cough- Liam -cough-). Well, with a hand placed gently on Kaylie's lap, she waited rather impatiently as the girl removed her hood.
A small gasp left the girl as her dark eyes took in the sorry sight of her girl. She reached up her french-manicured hand up to the bruised eye and delicately ran a finger along the skin. "Merlin! Who did this to you?" she said in a hushed growl. "We need to get you to the healer. Don't fight me on this, I warn you. There's no need to be in such pain here... the healers will have most of this sorted out before second period." Alana could have sorted out quitea bit herself, but by the way Kaylie was moving there was probably a lot more that had to be dealt with.
"Thank you for the compliment; I believe it's just good genes and taste," she said with the smallest of smiles; she never smiled enough to show her pearly whites now. Her vampire fangs were strictly secret. "Come now, carina."

Kaylie was never loud about her abusive home situation but she also didn't hide it from the people who mattered. She refused to become an orphan and the beatings at home were getting worse which was a bad sign. Who knows she might not make it to Christmas.. mother always got worse at Christmas.
Kaylie sighed and looked at Alana with a slight frown, she hated coming off as a weakling when she wasn't.
"My mother.." she answered in a hushed tone, the last thing she needed was people eavesdropping. Thank god Alana took the compliment well, it took the attention away from her injuries.
"I won't fight you, just whine." she tried to joke a bit.
"Fine." she got up slowly with a groan. Fuck it hurt.

”Your mother?” Alana hissed in low tones as she gave Kaylie a helping hand to get up from the table. The young woman couldn’t comprehend how anyone would hurt their own child like this. Granted the Ravenclaw girl had vicious dreams that involved harm towards her own mother... but that was something very dark, very personal and not once yet acted upon. Besides, matricide was far more natural order of things than filicide. Alana was brought out of her thoughts as Kaylie attempted to joke and the girl let out a groan of her own.
”No whining; you’re not a dog, Kaylie. I will walk slowly for you, but one whine and I will put a silencing charm on those sweet lips of yours,” the vampire said with an angelic smile. The girl was many things but patient was not her best virtue. ”However did you manage the journey to Hogwarts like this?”

Kaylie let out a small sigh. Yes, her mother was the big bad evil in this story. Truth be told she had it coming, Kaylie was leaving for Hogwarts and her mother needed her punching bag to know that she wasn't done with her. The woman basically thrived on alcohol and Kaylie just hoped her liver would give out before she did.
"She is insane really." she said softly and eyed her girlfriend as they walked out of the great hall. Kaylie ran a hand through her hair, wincing a bit.
"I thought you liked the noises I make." she teased and leaned in to kiss her cheek before walking a bit faster. She wasn't an old woman so she didn't need to walk slowly. The girl tried not to stand out with this.
"Lot of effort and painkillers." she assured her and smiled weakly. "It wasn't too bad really, if you flash a smile here and there though never as angelic as yours, others will do the heavy lifting." Kaylie wasn't really a flirt but it worked this time.
"Please tell me something I hadn't already deduced," Alana said with a wry smile as her girlfriend described her mother. "Many people are insane and still do not attempt to crush the skull of the child they birthed and raised," Alana paused a moment to squeeze Kaylie's hand gently after the girl had finished running it through her hair.
"Those are entirely different noises," Alana said with a smirk as she allowed Kaylie to press her lips against her cheek. She gently pulled Kaylie along a little faster still because Alana wanted the young woman to be fixed as soon as possible. "You should have visited the healing ward as soon as you arrived. Honestly, I don't want to sound like a nagging mother but it's very important that you look after youself," Alana said as they arrived at the doors. "I cannot explain why... but I can say that I am glad that, for the next 9 months at least... she cannot harm you. I will write to Mama e Papá so that you can come to ours for Christmas instead of home," Alana said with a determined nod.
"Aiden is fine - ah, here is the healer now," Alana said in a low tone as she watched the healer totter over. The little old, plump lady had a bright rose tint to her cheeks and her curly grey hair was only just kept in check with some kind of white linen cap. "Kaylie needs your assistance, please," she nodded and pushed her girlfriend forward a little bit.

Kaylie wasn't one to complain much but when it came to her mother she couldn't do much else than talk shit and put down the facts which was just as much shit as anything else. Kaylie didn't bother to lie about her situation, she often avoided talking about it with people who meant nothing to her but she sure as hell wasn't going to avoid talking about it with Alana who was like one of the few people she actually cared about.
"Well maybe if the healer is done patching me up, you can make me make some noise." she winked. Yes she had sex on the brain but it was Kaylie, when did she not? The blonde frowned for a moment as they headed for the hospital wing. Her least favorite hangout.
"I know, I'm sorry. I honestly thought it would go away." she also hated needles and nurses that were not sexy. "Me at your place for Christmas?" she didn't think she'd be welcomed there. "You sure they won't mind?" she knew Aiden was going to have to deal and that did make her smile a bit but the parents.
She was going to meet.. the parents. Well... shit? Kaylie was a bit lost in thought with inside panic but got snapped out of it by the word healer. "Oh hi." she said and was taken to a bed. She looked behind her at Alana before being seated down and frowned when the healer asked to take off her clothes.
"Well.. since you ask nicely." she grumbled and took off her hood and then her top. There were bruises covering most of her skin and some burn marks as well. For the first time she felt shame, she felt exposed and she couldn't even look at Alana without feeling like shit. Her bruises were there for the world to see and her world was only a little over five feet tall.
"Please make them go away.." she whispered to the nurse.
"Your appetite is nearly as veracious as my own," Alana mused, her thin lips pulled into a smirk as she considered Kaylie's request for sex afterwards. "I am no healer, but I imagine even once Madame Pomfrey is done you'll no doubt require rest." As Alana had chided the girlfriend, who replied with 'I thought it would go away', the Ravenclaw arched her perfectly shaped, dark brow. That was quite possibly the most ridiculous thing she'd heard this morning; things don't just go away? Not unless they're vanished but wishful thinking was not the same. Not by a long shot. "Clearly you've suffered a prolonged concussion because... this... doesn't just go away. Not without help."
When asked about her invitation for the Christmas break, Alana sighed heavily. "Aiden will bitch and moan about it, no doubt," the vampire said, her tone clearly denoting the fact that she couldn't care less. "Luckily for us both, the mansion is large enough that we don't have to hear it if we don't want to. You'll be treated to la tombola, pannetone, fireworks and roasted chestnuts. Limoncello will take the nip out of air... and out of Aiden's bark," Alana joked as the little old lady waddled over to the pair.
With concern in her dark eyes, Alana watched as Kaylie sat down and began to take off her clothes for the healer. Thankfully there was no one else in the hospital wing at present, but still the young witch pulled out the privacy curtains as Kaylie began to expose her bruised and battered skin. "Merlin! Aren't there laws against this kind of thing in the muggle world?"

The word everyone should be looking for was disgust. Kaylie was disgusted by her own reflection as much as the nurse probably was deep down inside. Fake concern wasn't something Kaylie was asking for neither was pity or any of it. She was stronger than that, she might be blonde but it didn't affect her intelligence, not even with Alana's jokes.
"We can give him something to moan about, how about earplugs as a present?" she tried to joke only to hide the exposed disgust that was surrounding them. The nurse started to work on her bruises and injuries, she had to drink some potion and watched her put cream on her body.
"There are love, but my mother calls this my clumsyness." she said and eyed Alana. "I didn't really wanted you to see me like this... not attractive at all." she said and looked away in shame, she was ashamed and felt like a little girl.
Once the nurse was done she could put her shirt back on, bandages making sure the cream didn't get on her clothes.
"I'd really rather not give my brother anything to moan about," Alana said with a crinkled nose because that was disgusting. Far worse, in Alana's eyes, than the patchwork of colours and burns on Kaylie's body. The healer made very quick work of the battered body, and Alana had barely enough time to realise that she probably should have attempted to comfort the young Slytherin with a caring touch or... or something. Yet, Alana felt that she'd have just gotten in the way and what could stroking Kaylie's arm really do?
"Muggles really must be stupid if they buy that story," Alana said with a growl, shaking her head. Her loose golden curls bopped about her shoulders as she did so. "You clumsily fall on small fires over and over again also?" she asked with a raised brow. "Stop fussing about me seeing you beaten bloody, Kaylie. You're beautiful, ok?" Alana said with a kind smile, careful not to show her vampire fangs as she reached a gently hand to caress the healing cheek of her girlfriend with the back of her knuckles. "Thank you, Madame, for looking after her." The healer gave the students specific instructions to return the following morning to re-evaluate and apply the healing balms. Alana nodded slowly and looked for Kaylie's agreeing gesture also.
"We... we won't need to report this to the Headmaster, will we, Madame?"

Kaylie's shame was rooted deeply at this moment, she was often very strong and carefree when it came about her body and her appearance. Kaylie was confident that she was sexy as hell but now she felt gross and the cream was not quite comfortable either. This must be how a stick note feels.
"I never said they were intelligent love." she reminded Alana and grunted a bit. "Well the pain is less. That's good?" she eyed the nurse who nodded and then her girlfriend. She would like some distraction from all of this but sex was quite off the table.
"Well if you think I look beautiful now I must be really gorgeous all healed up." she winked at Alana before turning to the nurse and the instructions. "Thanks ma'am." she said with a nod of her own and zipped up her hoodie a bit, she might be bruised but that didn't mean she was warm.
"Please don't.." reports would go to her mom and that meant.. nothing good. She eyed Alana almost looking for her to convince the woman not to and then the nurse who just shook her head and told them next time she would. "There won't be a next time ma'am.." she assured her. Kaylie sighed and turned to her girlfriend.
Alana’s thin lips clamped even tighter when her girlfriend confirmed the bleeding obvious; that muggles were just as stupid as toads. ”Thank Merlin the closest I’ve ever gotten to muggles in my life time is the mudbloods this institute allow to roam the halls like rats,” the venom behind the sentiment was real and palpable. She had waited to reply when the nurse was away from them getting some kind of salve from a shelf so that she didn’t ruffle any pathetic sympathiser feathers.
”Just imagine how good it would have been if you’d been seen by the healers before now, huh? Instead of waddling your way to the Slytherin dungeons and then up to the Great Hall you could’ve been right-as-rain by now,” Alana shook her head and helped Kaylie off the bed as the healer began the care instructions. ”Thank you.”
”Shall we, cara?” Alana repeated with an elegant raise of her brow. Once they were out of sight anyone, Alana paused. ”Baciarmi,” she said as she pulled the collar of Kaylie’s uniform closer to her and brushed her lips against those of her girlfriend for a moment. Then, surprisingly tenderly, she deepened that kiss.

Alright, she got it. She was stupid not to see a bloody healer but truth be told Kaylie had hated doctors and healers alike all her life. They always failed to be of help because they were blind as hell but she wasn't going to bitch and complain out loud to Alana. Honestly her girlfriend had a point and god knew what kind of injuries could've ended her miserable life?
Kaylie just nodded in agreement to Alana's words and gave her a small smile. The moment they were out of the sight of the nurse she felt Alana pull at her collar and into a deep kiss. Now that was a distraction Kaylie could get used to forever.
The blonde returned the kiss and grinned as she did so. Alana was even hotter when she went all Italian on Kaylie's ass. For all she knew she could be purring death threats and make it sound hot enough for Kaylie to just say yes and amen.
"God you sound hot when you speak Italian to me." she purred against Alana's lips and licked them before kissing her again.
