With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!

Well so far the year didn't go the way Kaylie would've expected it to have gone. She thought that there was a chance that maybe for once the year wouldn't suck more than ginger Jones on a summer eve but instead it sucked even more. Werewolves and Vampires are targets of social conversations and the classes of O'Connor are poking at sleeping bears. Sometimes Kaylie thought she was a part of some horrible vampire and werewolf movie but these wolves aren't hot men and the vampires didn't sparkle.
Still with all of the shit going on there was one bright thing.. Christmas. Okay so Alana's parents have considered her dead and done which was wrong and Kaylie would gladly knock sense into them.. with a brick but her girlfriend needed her now more than ever to be there and not make shit worse. So Kaylie had made it clear she would stay in school, the last thing Alana needs to worry about is Kaylie being dead too.. but really dead.
Kaylie had two gifts for her girlfriend and she was just happily sitting at the breakfast table waiting for Alana to arrive and receive the beautiful gifts Kaylie had prepared for her.

It would have been very easy for Alana to stay in bed for the entire two weeks of Christmas break. She could just lay in the dorm room... except that this particular year all the other damned bitches she had to share a room with were also there. Of course, this might be normal for them, Alana had no way of knowing because all the other years she'd spent Christmas at home... where she should be now, curled up in front of the fire in her bedroom that was the size of the Ravenclaw Common Room with a crystal glass of warmed blood and running her fingers through the blonde locks of her girlfriend in their 'sleep over'.
Begrudgingly, Alana forced herself to keep her head high as she walked into the Great Hall. Everyone there was literally beneath her now; they were all cows, awaiting their slaughter and they all knew it now. Good. Alana let her dark eyes fall on a little first year that was chewing the cud and gave a pointed-tooth grin that was full of menace when the kid happened to look back. The sixteen year old could practically smell the result of the kid shitting their pants and it was glorious.
Alana finally caught sight of her girlfriend at the table and she made her way over. Unconsciously the vampire was fiddling with the ring on her finger; her only link to her twin brother these Christmas holidays. "Good morning, amore," Alana said as she slid into the seat next to the Slytherin girl. "I hope I have not kept you waiting too long - I ..." the edges of her thin lips twitched as she struggled to maintain her smile because the only reason she was late to breakfast was getting out of bed was hard for the first time in her life. "... was kept up all night with a certain dorm mate up to no good," she lied. "How are you this morning?"

It was logical in a way that the holidays were tough for many kids including Kaylie. Everyone here was a reminder of herself for the past six years. Ever since she was little she would stay here because her mother would hurt her and every year she lied about her reasons because she didn't want people's pity and neither did she care to share such information either. The thought of herself feeling lonely every Christmas was pushed aside now she was able to spend it with her girlfriend.
Now the circumstances on how they were spending it was not the same as they planned. Kaylie was going to be a friend sleeping over and well there were many ways to sound proof a bedroom. Kaylie let out a small sigh before curling her lips into a smile as her light eyes spotted Alana. "Mmm Good morning to you too gorgeous." She said with a smile of her own and watched her girlfriend.
Alana being presumed dead was well.. horrible and Kaylie really didn't think her gifts would be good enough to make it better but she tried, oh lord did she try. The blonde leaned in to kiss her cheek and handed her the first gift. "Maybe this will cheer you up a little bit." she said softly. The gift contained a white gold necklace and had a small heart shaped charm on it with K & A engraved on the back.
Kaylie sold some of her mother's things to pay for it.. not that the drunk would know the difference. The second gift was the password to the prefect's bathroom Kaylie aquired in her charming ways. "I've been fine really, the girl dorms are nice and quiet in the hole that is the slytherin dungeon." she said and grinned a bit. "Want something to eat?"

That smile on Kaylie's lips was enough to warm the dead girl's still heart. Alana did a sneaky move when Kaylie leaned in to kiss her cheek, making sure that those lips connected with her own in a kiss. "What's this?" she asked as her French manicured fingers wrapped around the gift that Kaylie passed to her. She held it up so that she could look it over carefully and her thin lips curled into a sweet smile. "Oh Kay... this is beautiful," Alana gushed, turning the tiny heart in her hand and looking at the initials inscribed, "ti amo per sempre, lo sai?" the vampire said, looking into the beautiful eyes of her girlfriend for a good, long moment. "You are all the gift I need, though, you know that right?"
On the subject of girl's dorms, Alana sighed wistfully because she wished that her own dorm was vacant. "I should be so lucky. Apparently this year no one wants to go home to their families," Alana was bitter and it showed in the bite of her words. A house elf came to Alana and passed her a blood bag, which Alana accepted without thanking the lowly creature. "Mmm breakfast," Alana grumbled as she undid the bag and began to sip at the top like a straw.

Once their lips met, Kaylie smiled even more. She for once had a Christmas without unwanted bruising, though her writer has in mind she would get a lot of wanted bruising (eyebrow wiggle), she was going to enjoy this no matter the circumstances. Whether it was a luxurious bed and pretending in front of parents or an entire prefect's bathroom, they would have their fun she was sure of it. The blonde watched Alana as she took the gifts.
Kaylie smiled and bit her lip. "I'm glad you like it." she said and though she had no clue what Alana asked in Italian, she did understand the English question and nodded. "But aside from me being delicious armcandy, you deserve something pretty to carry around." she said and grinned as she did so. She watched the elf give Alana blood and bit her lip.
"Grilled cheese, it's lame right but so good right now. It's spicy cheese as well." she said and held up the sandwiches. "Need help putting the chain on?" she asked and cocked her head. She was going to try to make this holiday season special for her girlfriend and herself. She took a quick bite from her sandwich as she waited for Alana to answer and looked around real quick. "I could sneak you into my dorm you know.."

Deserved something pretty. The words were like shards of ice striking her in the heart and her smile faltered for a moment. Alana was accustomed to many pretty expensive things; evidenced by the full carat of sollitaire diamonds that studded each of her ears. That's the worst part of her predicament, Alana was very attached to the finer things in life. Tucking a stray blonde lock behind her ear, Alana's fingertips brushed across the studs to remind herself they were still there and she turned her smile back to Kaylie. "And look, it will hang close to my heart, like you are. Even if it does not beat any longer," Alana tried to give a small chuckle, to let Kaylie know that she was doing OK. Not great, but OK.
"You look to be enjoying it," Alana replied, watching her girlfriend consume her breakfast with a half smile. "My preference was biscotti e cafe - coffee and biscuits. I've never had spicy cheese? Do they just put chili in it?" Alana was curious, which she showed by tilting her head a little. "You may - but make sure you clean your hands. Cheese is so greasy and this necklace is precious to me," the girl nodded, waiting to ensure that Kaylie did so before pivoting on the bench to put her back to Kaylie. With her left hand, she scooped her blonde locks up off her neck whilst her right hand brought the blood bag back to her lips to suck.
"Sneaking into the dorms does sound like an enticing idea. I guess it depends on how convincing you can be. I mean, a good girl like me going to a dungeon?" she turned her angelic smile over her shoulder to Kaylie.

Alana seemed to be okay, maybe not in the best mindset but okay at least. Kaylie had decided to believe her because she was not the type of girl to worry too much in the first place. The blonde had been trying to spoil Alana just to make her feel better but truth be told, she was not a romantic at all. The shit she did was because she felt it was right to do but she half of the time was winging it and hoping on good results. Kaylie suddenly felt like a failed scientist.
The blonde eyed the necklace with a nod. "And it looks beautiful on you." she assured her and took another bite of her sandwich as Alana described her human breakfast. "That's very light.." she said and smiled. "Mm they do, add red pepper to the cheese and let it rest for years before it gets even served. I once went to this cheese farm when I was a little rebel, it was very cool actually, even made me try their homemade ice cream." she said and hummed.
Kaylie cleaned her hands before turning to put the necklace around Alana's neck, once she closed the clasp, Kaylie grinned a little more. "It looks perfect on you.." what didn't? God sometimes she felt like she was Alana's worst choice for a lover and yet here they were. "Mmmm.. I can be very convincing you know that.." she licked her lips before kissing the back of Alana's neck.
"I mean have you spent the night with me? I'm pretty great." Kaylie had a cocky smirk on her face and turned to take a sip of her juice.

Looking straight ahead, Alana couldn't help the small smirk that crossed her face when her girlfriend complimented how she looked with the pretty pendant. Of course it looked good on her. Most everything did. "You have beautiful taste, Kaylie," came the much more humble reply of a vampire skilled in keeping her thoughts to herself. "Mmm, yes breakfast is not a big meal in Italia. I do not know how the English manage alll those... eggs, bacon, sausages, beans... Honestly, that is far more a lunch time meal," she said with a shake of her head as she turned back around to the Slytherin girl.
"A cheese fattoria? That's pretty cool. It's always very interesting to see where our food comes from," Alana said.. but then made a bit of a face because, "well... where food comes from. We don't really share a common source of nutrients any longer," she corrected herself in a low voice. Her food didn't come from a farm... although that would be a nice idea, wouldn't it? A human farm for vampires? Humans of different vintages, some grain fed and perhaps some only beer-fed? Alana's stomach growled and she had to hurriedly suck down a very long portion of the blood-bag.
"Speaking of convincing - Aiden has said that my parents have been the very picture of a grieving family as the condolences come and visit. Apparently they're arranging a beautiful funeral and so kindly have my empty casket to be in a horse drawn carriage to the same church in which I was baptised. Lots of purple flowers have been ordered; lavender and wisteria and roses dyed purple. Almost makes me wish I could go to my own funeral," Alana sighed and folded the empty bag up and cast a charm to disappear it. "That said, I'm not terribly sure I can be convinced of much more than simply getting out of bed each morning, tesoro mio."

Compliments, whether they were obivious or not were sometimes needed to make anyone feel a lot better about themselves. Kaylie remembered getting her first compliment out of nowhere from a stranger and at that time, that moment where someone didn't yell, hit her or were trying to ruin her life, that moment was something that gave her hope that some people were better than what she knew. That there were people out there knowing what kindness and maybe even just caring could do to a girl.
"I know I do. Maybe I am not the biggest supporter of the latest fashion but I know what a girl likes..." she said with a cheeky grin as she finished her breakfast. "Mmm no breakfast in Italy? So what do you eat in the morning there?" she asked and cleaned herself up a bit before sneaking in one last piece of bacon. GOD BACON. Kaylie would've gotten a food related orgasm right there if she could.
Kaylie saw the smile fade from Alana when she talked about food for a moment. "Can I ask something.. about your food source?" she asked and frowned for a moment. "Do people.. taste.. different? Like.. Do I taste like bacon? Or maybe booze?" she asked feeling stupid for asking but bacon flavored humans? She'd not say no. The subject then changed to the one thing she didn't see coming, Alana's funeral.
Kaylie was always highly convinced her own mother was the biggest douchebag anyone could produce but she was proven wrong. The blonde nodded slowly and frowned. God it sounded awful, Alana was sitting here living and breathing and yet they were discussing her bloody funeral. "Hey.." she reached for Alana's hand and though the funeral sounded lovely and disturbing at the same time, it wasn't something Alana deserved.
"I will break into that Ravenclaw tower if I have to to entertain you in bed." she said and looked at her. "Can't get rid of me that easily, especially during the holidays." She said and stole a kiss. "Let's go do something, anything! We can go for a walk.. whatever you want to do."

Shivers ran down the vampire's back as Kaylie spoke of knowing what a girl likes because, "mmhmm, yes, yes you do." There was a rare, actually genuinely happy smile that crept onto the girl's face as memories of what she liked pleasantly flashing into the forefront of her mind. "Breakfast in Italia last time? It was sinking my fangs into Aiden just before I realised that I'd died and become a monster," Alana was thankful that her brother was strong enough to stop her because she remembered that she hadn't wanted to. The person she loved most in the world in that moment was nothing more than a good drop of blood.
Then of course the question of what different people tasted like. Other than Aiden and the blood bags, the only two other people she'd feasted upon shared a love of alcohol and cigarettes. "I feel drunk when the person I feed from is drunk, but otherwise I haven't tasted anything different," of course there was a dark part of Alana that wanted to test the theory out. In another life, Alana revelled in the taste of the different people and she'd have been able to give her girlfriend a much better answer. For now, she was just sweet and innocent little Alana that lived off of willing donors.
She smiled sadly as Kaylie said that she'd come and break her out of the Ravenclaw tower. "You're lucky Aiden's not at school at the moment else you know he'd enjoy catching you before you even made it into the dorms," she laughed a little at the thought. "Any reason he has to deduct points from Slytherin," she shook her head and let her blonde locks bounce on her shoulders. "You know what I would really enjoy doing? I would give anything to go for a ride. That's part of my favourite Christmas holidays... getting a chance to ride. There's honestly nothing more amazing than feeling in control of a five hundred pound beast at a gallop."

Kaylie was quite sure the smile on Alana's face was a reminder of the fun things they did together when they were alone. Kaylie was very much a proud person and that smile just boosted her ego and pride. With a smile she grabbed some mints and popped them in her mouth before downing some water. She didn't like to have a bacon flavored tongue whenever she was kissing her girlfriend.. just like she didn't like a blood flavored tongue in her own mouth. It was a thing... a valid thing.
"You're not a monster." she said and reached out to stroke her lips. "The fangs are just a huge turn on so what is there to be afraid off?" she asked in a hushed tone, almost a whisper. It was a thrill she felt whenever Alana showed her fangs, the thought of becoming a vampire had crossed her mind and she wanted it, she wanted to be like Alana one day. The blonde was quite sure it was either that or death in her future. How was she going to survive her mother else?
"Mmmm so when I am buzzed.. you feel buzzed?" she asked and smiled. "Does that mean you're addicted to me?" she asked with a grin on her face and a sparkle in her eyes. Kaylie was actually intrigued by all of this and she wanted to know more, become more. "That means this is the perfect time for me to do it so he can't bust me." she replied and took a sip of her water.
"Let's go to the room of requirement. If you want to ride a horse and that room is supposed to give you what you want... shouldn't it give you a horse? I can give you a ride but that is something I would do in private. These idiots don't deserve a show." she teased and got up on her feet. The blonde held her hand out to her girlfriend and gave her a charming smile. "Let's find out?"
