With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?

It was late; past curfew, detention likely, midnight kind of late. The torches along the walls had long ago flickered out leaving the corridors dark and ice cold. Outside the winter wind was battering the windows causing random crashes to resonate around the castle.
Paxton was perhaps the only one thankful for the noise. Slipping to the edge of the corridor he quickly peered down the next aisle, checking for professors. Finding it empty he scrambled to the next corner and did the same. The clattering of the windows masked his footsteps perfectly making it easy to run across the normally loud stones without being detected.
In all fairness he would have been back long before curfew had it not been for a new corridor he'd found off of the second floor. It made for a great escape route if he ever needed a quick exit from a prank. Now, however, he was out after hours with little hope of making it back to Gryffindor tower without being caught.
A noise up ahead drew his attention. Stopping suddenly, his eyes widened as a voice drifted to his ears. Panic consumed him as he searched frantically, eyes darting around for a hiding spot. Grabbing the nearest door handle, Pax pulled it wildly and lurched in.
The room was empty save a few dusty tables and chairs. Backing away from the door, the boy waited anxious to see if anyone would follow. .
It was late, really late, but in all honesty... Greyson didn't really give two shits. It wasn't like he planned on going to class tomorrow, not with the way his head was starting to buzz from the firewhiskey in the flask he sipped at. It didn't take a seer to realise that he was gonna spend most of tomorrow in bed with a hangover, cradling a bucket that Wood had given to him out of pity because he was a 'good guy.' A good guy that was giving him the cold shoulder currently because Greyson had shared that little rumour tidbit Evan had told him with his twin. But what had Wood expected him to do? Keep it to himself? Shit, it was like the guy hadn't even met him.
Way too preoccupied with the firewhiskey that was warming his belly, Greyson didn't hear the voices in the halls, nor did the pitter patter of footsteps quickly approaching the empty register in his ears. So when he stuck his cigarette in his mouth, light it and stretched out across the table, the creak of the classroom door being opened came as a surprise. Squinting, Greyson only just managed to work out the person's face in thanks to the moonlight streaming in from the window. "Oi, Pax. You miss me in the dorms or something, mate? I would've come back soon. No reason to worry your pretty little head," he teased, sitting back up to wiggle his brows at his dorm mate.
Paxton felt his heart leap into his throat as a voice cut through the darkness. After a second his brain comprehend the words and his shoulders slumped in relief. He knew that voice. Focusing on the lit cigarette, he arched a eyebrow. "Bloody hell, Greyson! You gave me a heart attack."
Crossing the room, he jumped onto the table, letting his legs swing off the edge. "I heard you were out with some chick and I got jealous," he said putting on a pouty face. "I couldn't stand another minute without your beautiful face." Rolling his eyes he reached empty hand out expectantly. "You got an extra smoke?"
As he leaned closer a smell invaded his nostrils. After another cautious sniff he recognized the familiar smell of whisky. Resisting a sigh, he decided the best thing he could do was ignore it. He had nothing against drinking, but it wasn't for him. He knew all to well that he had little self control and the thought of what could happen if he drank to much scared him to death.

Paxton chastising him for giving him a 'heart attack' made Greyson snicker immediately because yeah, that was exactly the goddamn plan. "What did you expect me to do, man? Come and gently tap you on the shoulder, say ''scuse me, Mr. Williams, sorry to bother you,'" Greyson said, voice raising into a simper as he did his very best impersonation of a Hufflepuff, eyes growing big as saucers and all. It wasn't hard to mimic, given his own twin was a fluffy marshmallow 'puff.
Greyson raised his cigarette to his lips as he watched Paxton move to sit on a table opposite him, snort escaping him. Lips twisting into a smirk, he asked, "What, is Wood's face not pretty enough? Or is he giving you the cold shoulder too?" Reaching into his back pocket, Greyson pulled out another cigarette, slapping it into Paxton's hands. "Oh, but be careful. These will 'bring you to an early death,' says most the goddamn straight arrows in my life. Dying young? Merlin forbid. Wouldn't want that, would you?"
Except... in Greyson's mind, it wouldn't really be the worst thing in the world. Hell, maybe if he died he'd see all of his dead relatives - except Charlotte which wasn't a loss at all really because she was such a stupid bint. A bint who decided to become a ghost. Who the hell wanted to linger the halls of Hogwarts forever? He couldn't wait to escape the place, dead or alive.
Rolling his eyes, Paxton shook his head. "Better than hearing a voice in a room you thought was empty," he exclaimed. At the over exaggerated look on Greyson's face the boy couldn't help but laugh. "You'd make the perfect puff you know."
"Cold shoulder," Pax said jokingly at the mention of Wood. He wrapped his fingers around the thin cigarette and placed it between his lips. "Plus I'm starting to think I'm too good for him." Reaching out, he stole the lit fag between Greyson's lips and pressed it to the end of his own, drawing a long drag in. The end burst to life with a warm red glow and Pax handed Greyson's back. "Fuck you gotta die of something, right?"
Inhaling deeply, he let the cloud of smoke settle in his lungs before exhaling it out of his nose in a whirl of white. "What are you doing out this late anyway," he asked, letting the cigarette fall to the side of his mouth. Knowing Greyson, he was probably up to no good.

"Here I was, thinking you were a Gryffindor who could take a little fright. Silly me," Grey said mockingly, lips twitching with amusement. His smile soon turned into a laugh, however, as Paxton mentioned he'd make a 'perfect puff.' "Yeah, I'm sure they'd really appreciate having me in their house, smoking up in the dorms and stumbling in during the middle of the night. Bet they wouldn't get their knickers in a knot over that... or do anything with their knickers, really. The whole lot of Hufflepuff is bloody well frigid, I tell you that much. Never met one who didn't insist on a date before exchanging spit."
"Sounds like it's becoming his specialty," Grey said with a shrug before rolling his eyes over Pax's next word and the fact the dickhead saw fit to snitch his cigarette. "I don't think anyone is as good as Saint Wood, man. He talks to animals, like they can hear him or something. Thinks he's the reincarnation of Newt Scamander himself." He didn't even work with cool animals, at least as far as Grey knew. How badass would it be to have a dragon that Wood tended to in their dorm room? When Pax handed back his cigarette, Grey gave him a smile as sweet as honey, one that practically dripped with sarcasm. "If you wanted to share spit, you could have just asked. Would've made it more interesting for you than just sharing a smoke."
Raising his cigarette to his lips, Greyson inhaled and let it warm his lungs, the alcohol busy warming his belly in the process. Then Pax was asking what he was doing 'out this late' and he shrugged loosely. "Nothing to do in the dorms... and it's fun, I guess, playing a game of hide and go seek with those goody-two-shoes prefects, making them squirm when they realise they can't control me just 'cause they have a shiny badge." Letting his eyes sweep over the boy in front of him, Greyson's brows raised. "Why are you out so late?"
