With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
Leo had never before been so glad that his skin was not as pale as that of some of his classmates. Otherwise it would be far too obvious that the furious blush had not left Leo's face for the last two days. He'd never been targeted by any gossip in all those years at Hogwarts. He had enough classmates in his year who drew so much more attention than he did. But now it was him and the reason was so very stupid and the whole thing incredibly embarrassing!
Even quidditch practice was ruined by the ridiculous rumour. People had actually taken it upon themselves to sit in the stands - which they sometimes did - apparently only to torment him. "How can you even fly? Doesn't it hurt?" they teased him, "He probably should've stuck to using his broom, then he wouldn't be itching now" they stage-whispered so that he could hear it. One girl had even asked him in the corridor if Matheus was as good as he said he was.
After two days of this he'd had just about enough. He entered the locker room after quidditch practice in an especially foul mood, slamming down his protective gear on the bench and tore his sweaty shirt off over his head. Didn't people have anything else to talk about? And it wasn't even true at that! Leo was so annoyed that he didn't hear the door open but he just continued on to get into the showers as quickly as possible. Maybe some hot water would relax him some.
Elijah had heard of the rumors flying around, heard that people had been teasing his friend and teammate, which honestly, pissed him off. Even if he didn’t dare to say anything to Leo, knowing that he could ruin his own reputation if someone saw him alone with the boy in question, and things wouldn’t end well for the both of them. Especially if Eli loses his shit on anyone who dares to harm his reputation. So when the day’s Quidditch practice was over, he went into the locker room a few seconds after his friend did. He wanted to make sure he was okay, but he knew damn well that his friend was far from that by the slam of the gear after he had entered the locker room. No one would be okay if this was a rumor against them.
The Beater had stood there for a second before he had taken off his gear, and sat on the bench, hearing the showers. Part of him wanted to go tell those people in the stands off, but it wasn’t his fight. But then again, Leo was one of his closest friends and he shouldn’t let him suffer alone.
”I would ask if you’re okay…” he stated as he took off his shirt and stood up, heading for the showers too. ”But by the way you were during practice, I take it you’re not. Do you want to talk about it?”
Leo dropped the towel on the shelf next to him before stepping into the shower and turning on the hot water. He gasped when the heat hit his back but after a few moments he tilted his head back, letting the water run over his scalp and his face, scrubbing vigorously with his hands until his skin was burning and had the same shade of red as his eyes. Did these people even have to ruin quidditch for him? His passion? The thing he was good at? Which he enjoyed? He really felt like crying, about how unfair it all was. He had not way of proving the rumour wrong. It was just so far from the truth. How long would this go on?
He was suddenly startled out of his own thoughts when he heard someone speaking. "Eli?" he asked, recognizing the voice, before the other entered the showers a moment later. Startled Leo turned around hastily, shut off the water and made a grab for his towel. "Eli! You're making it worse right now. Can you back off?!" he called out, wrapping the towel around his waist. "And no, I don't want to talk about it. Ask those people in the stands. They seem to know everything you need to know," he replied scathingly
As soon as Leo freaked out, Elijah had raised his hands, backing out of the general area. He should have expected it from his friend, seeing how the rumor was going around Hogwarts rather quickly. Some stuff seemed to blow over fast, but this whole deal with both his dorm mates was even bothering him a tiny bit. People talked shit in front of him, made his friend’s life a living hell, and he wanted to make sure that Leo was okay. It was the least he can do despite just being snapped at to back the hell off. The male wasn’t even close, but okay, he’ll let Leo go off on him if it made him feel better.
So he had stood there, concern on his features and he nodded softly. ”Right. Sorry.” he said. ”I just wanted to see how you were doing. I rather not go out there and ask those morons in the stands.”
‘Cause then Elijah would get into some trouble, and no one needed that.
