With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
Nothing was going to stop Elijah from going to the Quidditch Pitch for a simple fly around without a serious practice, not even the cold winter air. To be fair, Elijah was never bothered about winter weather and would sometimes go outside with a t-shirt on. But this day he wasn't going to mess around, and risk himself getting sick. He had decided to put on his beloved leather jacket with his gloves, scarf and a beanie following. He wasn't going to be sick during the winter holidays when they would let the kids go home to their parents, but he had different plans. He had plans on joining his sister into the trip to the Reid cabin, and they'll be able to see their long lost baby sister.
The male was still surprised when he heard from Mara in that owl, and he had continued to write to her every chance he got. He also wrote to his father, saying that he won't be joining the family for the Christmas holiday, and his father was understanding in a way. It was their mother he was worried about, how she'd just tell him to come home anyway. He will make an appearance, wish her a happy Christmas but that's it.
A sigh had left him when he walked into the middle of the pitch, looking around and seeing someone else. One of the Ravenclaw players, and he couldn't help but chuckle. "Guess we both have the same thought." he said as he put his broom on his shoulder as he eyed her.
I will tiptoe down that line but I will feel unstable
There was a glow on Mavican's face as she had made her way to the quidditch pitch. The redhead was standing on the field, her eyes looking over the stands. Her mind imagining it being very crowded, many people screaming her names, cheering her on while a woman was leaning over to touch her and almost fall down the stand as Mavican raced by.
Mavican smiled a bit but quickly brought out of her daydream by a voice. She turned around slowly to look at who the voice belonged to and noticed it was one of the Gryffindor players. The redhead cocked her head and smiled a bit.
"I just felt like coming here to clear my head." she told him and shrugged a bit. Mavican assumed he came to practice which was fine, she'd get out of his way if he wanted her to. "Came to practice?"
A lot had happened in the past couple of days, and Elijah just needed to fly around, be free of the drama that’s happening around the castle. There was no way he was going to get himself involved with whatever was happening to his classmates now. Been there, done that and didn’t want to do it again. He had fixed things for some, and made things worse for others. So, being outside made him feel safer than he already was. He needed the fresh air, needed to be left alone. But he wasn’t going to complain that one of the Ravenclaw players were on the field too.
”Nah. No major practice. Just need a break from people.” he admitted as he shifted in his spot. He moved to put his broom down on the ground beside, rolling his shoulders. ”What’s up with you?”
Mavican was so lost in her own mind she truly didn't notice Elijah there. She thought he was a nice guy and they fooled around once probably but nothing really had lead to a friendship. Mavican watched him and chewed on her lip. The last thing she wanted was to bother a way too tall giant of a guy. Still he approached her, talked to her so she decided to stick around and actually talk to someone.
"I know those feelings all too well." she told him and sat down on the grass, using her cloak as a seat. The redhead girl had been through a lot of changes, she couldn't even captivate most of them. She was dating someone which was most uncommon coming from her and now she was actually going to have a roof over her head offered by professor O'connor like it was no big deal.
"I just went through a lot of changes in a short period of time, still can't really process it all." she said and smiled a bit. "How about you? What's on your mind?" she asked and looked around the pitch. "Are you going to miss this?"
Elijah knew going through major changes in a short amount of time can change a person, and he wasn’t one to judge. He had been through it too, with his sister going missing during the summer holidays with the Tyrell boy. But recently he had heard from her, and he was still wrapping his head around that she wasn’t really missing. Instead, she was at the Reid cabin. The very cabin that his twin was going to visit, and now he was coming along because he needed to see Mara. She was his baby sister after all. It was up to him to make sure she was okay, possibly report back to their father.
The male sighed softly as he shifted a bit, and moved to sit down on the ground next to her. ”Just dealing with family stuff. Figuring out my Christmas holiday.” he said softly and looked up at the Quidditch goal posts with a tiny smile. Was he going to miss playing? Yes. ”Oh, yes. I’m going to miss the game, and my teammates most of all. Might miss playing against you.”

Christmas holidays, yes the time where students left to get together with their families. For Mavican it was just another Christmas with no presents, no joy and no one to give a damn. Except that the professor gave enough to give her a roof over her head but she was terrified to go not going to lie. She loved the offer but she needed to prepare herself and she wasn't ready to go there this soon. The redhead wasn't going to bother Elijah with it, he was a good guy.
"Christmas with the fam? sounds fun." she said and smiled a bit. "Morgan told me your sister was found, are you going with Morgan to see her?" she asked and cocked her head to the side. "Don't be shocked that I know, Morgan tells me everything ever since we were toddlers." she told him and chuckled a bit. Mavican sure as hell was going to miss this school when she was done here.
"Miss playing against me? Well if you get into the pro's.. I am aiming for the same thing so you might not need to miss me kicking your ass that much." she teased with a wink. "Are you ready for our match soon? The winner gets to face Hufflepuff." she was still amused Slytherin lost against Hufflepuff. "Those poor snakes, they didn't stand a chance for once."
Elijah wasn’t surprised that Morgan had told Mavican that his sister had been found - he knew their friendship. He had seen their friendship in full view for the past few years and he didn’t have anything against it. Elijah had friendships just like that, ones that he didn’t crawl into bed with. The male had changed through the past several months, he rarely slept around anymore. He had a girl waiting for him in the village nearby, but he couldn’t see her at all because of the latest thing. Even though he understood that Hogwarts was looking out for its students, he was a little ticked off that they’re holding the students hostage.
A sigh left Elijah as he rested his arms on his knees, his eyes looking at the goal posts for a moment. ”I’m not surprised that Morgan told you.” he said with a tiny chuckle. ”Yeah, I’m going to the Reid cabin to see my sister for the first time in months.” he said with a tiny frown.
He grinned at Mavican and tilted his head. ”Yeah, we’re looking forward to kicking Ravenclaw’s ass.” he smirked. "Your seeker better watch out."
