With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
Erik had owled his sister and asked her to meet him for a drink, he wanted to catch up with her as he was in town for work before he went to where his worked called for him to go. He always tried to come home to his roots before going on a mission for his job and in all honesty he didn't mind, he got to travel the world for his work and got to see a lot of things and even tried to bring souvenirs home for his family so they had something to remember him when he was gone. As he got to the pub he ordered himself a beer and a plate of fries since he hadn't eaten that day yet and didn't want to drink on an empty stomach because that was not good. He waited at the table for his sister.
Ava was a bit surprised when her brother Erik had owled to her. She didn't really expect this from him anymore but he wanted to get a drink together. She knew that having few drinks won't be such bad idea so she said yes. She also kind of missed her mother even if she would never admit it really.
The young woman walked into to the Leaky and looked then for her brother, Erik, who she soon found too sitting alone one of the tables there. She slowly approched to him and hoped that she won't regret this decision later. "Hey, Erik," she said with a smile when she sat down across him.
Erik sat there wondering if this meeting would go well, he knows that he hasn't been around a lot since of his line of work but he always did try to keep in touch especially when he was in town. He looked to the door in time to see his sister walking through the door and when she spotted him she definitely took a seat across from him. He popped a fry into his mouth and pushed them to the middle in case she wanted some. "Hi Ava, how've you been?" He asked curiously. Something Erik always tried to do was stay in the loop with his siblings in case a family event came up and something was mentioned and he had no idea what it was or what not. That and because he tried to be as involved as possible, he was legally a Jones.
Ava smiled at her brother and took one fry too from Erik's plate. Basically he had offered them when he pushed it middle of the table. "I have been same as always. Nothing much hasn't happened in my life," she said with a small smile on her face. She tried to be involved too in her siblings as much she can even if none of them wasn't blood related. She still wondered where her blood siblings were. Noone still knew nothing about them. "What about you?" she asked back after eating one more fry.
Erik knew that his sister worked at St. Mungos and also knew that she worked hard as hell, it was something that she cherished just like Erik did his work. He also knew her to be very curious when it came to life and her job, as he was eating fries he was nodding in all the right places. Erik understood her, he to was doing the same old thing, work, work, and more work. It made him his money and it also helped him become more experienced then he was the day before. "I get that, been doing the same old thing too" he added.
"I've been busy that is for sure, get new dragons in a lot but they're fascinating creatures I absolutely love them. I honestly don't know what I would be doing if I wasn't a dragon breeder. It's insane to think about but it's true" Erik replied.
Ava knew that Erik did understood her when it came to work. The healer tried her best to do her work and he loved it. She might not have been the best at the start but by now she still has so much to learn. The learning never stops. She would never changes her job for something else. Even yeah she always works and barely has any time for other things.
"Yes I understand you. It's same for me being the healer. I wouldn't know who or what I would do with out it," she agreed with Erik there now. Even if they weren't blood related they often had so much in common.
Erik tried to be close with his siblings, in the end no matter what they were his family even if they weren't blood related. Blood didn't make a family, love did and he loved his siblings and his parents and couldn't ask for anything more. Erik could relate more with his siblings that had jobs more then the ones in school since he worked to survive and make a name for himself where as his younger siblings in school were trying to graduate and learn as much as their minds could hold. "Exactly, this is our chance to prove that we're mature to be adults and to live on our own. I know mom and dad are saints and I love them to death but I could never live with them again, visit and stay for a few days? Yes of course, but not like before. I felt like I had no privacy at times and besides I have my own bathroom in my home" Erik really loved having his own bathroom and not having to share.
Ava loved her family too even if none of them wasn't really blood related. They had always been there for her and helped her when she needed ever since she was adopted. She couldn't have asked for better family. Even yeah she at times missed her real siblings and still this day wondered where they were. She listened her brother to explain and she just nodded her head.
"So true," she said with a small smile there. Ava have thought to move out too lately. She hasn't really done it yet. "Even yeah I still live at the parents house but I'm looking for apartment my own. I haven't found yet one I can either afford or really like. Sharing the bathrooms has been something I have never liked too," she said and looked at the fries. She stole some more. She waved waitress over. "Could I have some more fries and coffee with a milk but without sugar," she said with a small smile there now once waitress was there. The waitress soon after that left.
Erik nodded when it came to her still living at the parents house. He knew what it was like to live there and share things with the other family members. He loved his family but it was a pain and when he had saved enough money to live on his own that is exactly what he did. Erik loved having his own place to live, it was extremely freeing and a life learning experience. Everything that his mother did for him he had to do by himself, now in the beginning he sucked at it but now he had gotten the hang of it to where he was a master. "You'll find something one day, just try to save cash as well in case of anything, that's what I did" Erik advised.
Erik ate a fry when Ava ordered more fries and a coffee. Something he didn't like was coffee, he didn't feel awake when drinking it like everyone said, so he just stays away from that stuff in general.
Ava has some money her own by now but just she hasn't really figured out what she exactly she wants. She very picky about that she why she hasn't found something. Just the girl doesn't want anything very cheap and same time it needs to be cozy for her. So far nothing has been like that. She hasn't found the place what she could call her own. "Well yeah I hope that too. Just haven't yet found one I like. I do have some money saved up over the years of working as healer," she said with a small smile on her face.
She was aware that Erik didn't like the coffee but she did. "Over the years it has became habit to drink it. I didn't like the taste back old days too but now I do. Just something let's me get through some long days at work. Or else I will fall asleep easily," she said with smile. It was something what she has now been drinking a lot. At times she needed caffeine to function but tea didn't do the trick for her anymore at the end.
Erik took a sip of his beer and nodded, he was glad that Ava was at least saving up her money from working at Mungos, he knew he could never do that for a career, he wasn't the most patient person around but he did at least try when it came to his dragons, for them he had all the time in the world but people are assholes and he couldn't deal with them for a living. "Have you tried apartments instead of houses?" Erik asked curiously.
Erik simply nodded, she did have a lot more hours of work then him but their stress of the job is just the same since they both had a lot of energy taken from their line of work. "Well good for you, me I'll stick to more different approaches of staying awake during my shifts" Erik nodded.
Ava smiled and nodded her head there now. "Yes I have tried to find both by now. Just never felt so far anywhere what could be like my home. I guess I'm just picky," she said with giggles now. She really was picky at times when it came about things what she wanted.
Coffee wasn't all that good for you but Ava still liked it and she couldn't really deny it. "Well I don't usually have much time during my breaks. I usually just have time for one of the cup of coffee and that's it," she explained and it was true. Her work kept her often very busy and there was days when she didn't even have time to take break. She knew it wasn't probably good for her but she couldn't leave her patient hanging when they needed her help.
Erik knew that Ava was a picky human being, it was how she was from the very beginning and it would be like that until the very end. Erik sometimes got annoyed when she was picky in certain situations but it was just how she was wired, just like he was wired to be creative and smart when it comes to his dragons. "Well we all know you can be picky when it comes to life, it was the one thing I cannot stand when it comes to you. You're always nit picking" Erik teased her jokingly.
Erik nodded when it came to Ava saying she has one cup of coffee when it comes to work and not really having time during her breaks. "Why don't you ask to take a vacation or some time off? Gives you time to find a place you like, find a way to relax" Erik didn't want Ava to overwork herself.
Ava knew that people didn't like often this part of her but this was just who she was, picky one at times when it came to her life. She just had to choose thing what she wouldn't regret later on her life. There was a few things she regretted from her past. "Yeah that's who I am and I'm aware you hate that thing about me. So many do," she said with a small smile.
Ava smiled and shrugged her shoulders. "Not sure why. Even yeah I do have some days to ask for sure. I could actually do it," she said with a small smile on her face. This seemed like good idea and she had no clue why she hadn't thought about it herself now. Maybe it was because she loved her job and didn't wanna take many breaks for herself. She knew she was always too busy too to even look for her own place.
