With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
Having spoken to Ollie quite a lot in the last few weeks, Oscar had finally allowed himself to get persuaded that there was still hope. That he might still have a chance at getting Parker back. That she did in fact still want him and that it was all her family and his mind which had separated them before. It had taken Ollie quite a while to get it into his head and had taken him even longer to allow himself to believe it. He had always hoped, had even dreamed about it, but not actually thought it possible. Especially because he'd probably made it even worse himself by being so mean to her. But he couldn't help that. He'd just have to try and get her back now and everything would be forgotten.
However he understood how difficult it might be and how much it might cost so he had thought up an elaborate plan to try and win Parker back. The heart of the plan was asking her to go to the upcoming Winter Ball with him, which he knew was a risky move, but he'd have to try.
He had asked Ollie to make Parker leave the common room just before curfew and come to the entrance hall. Oscar wasn't sure how difficult it would be for Ollie to persuade her friend and what she would tell her, but he had learned to trust Ollie. She would come up with something.
So half an hour before curfew Oscar sat hidden behind a tapestry in the entrance hall. The double doors were open just wide enough to admit one slim person to slip outside. The torches were still lit and Oscar waited for the telltale sound of footsteps to kick off his plan.
Parker would have many questions to her best friend as to why she was sending her out to the Entrance Hall but something was up. She was suspicious enough to raise questions only to be told her to go find this item her lovely friend had dropped earlier that day, and she had fell for it. Sure, she was changed into her sweatpants and a oversize sweatshirt but not everyone was out of their common room a half hour before curfew so there were barely anyone around to judge her outfit. The girl was ready for bed, and wanted to call it early but she will get this item for Olivia as she promised.
At least she was in the company of her beloved cat, Jack and he walked with her. Once she had entered the Entrance Hall, she paused when she noticed the doors were open and Jack had ran off to the outdoors, making her squeal and go after her dumb cat. "Jack!" she said and went through the gap of the door before stopping as she pulled out her wand.
Goddamn she hated being alone outside in the cold. "Damn cat, get your ass back inside now before you become a happy meal." she hissed.
Oscar couldn't believe his luck when he dared to push the tapestry aside just enough to get a tiny glimpse of Parker. It was as if he had trained the cat to run outside the moment they arrived. Perfect. That was just were she needed to be. Once outside Oscar hoped that she wouldn't follow the cat much further but stop to look and see the little sparkling lights he had ignited in the snow - tiny glowing ice crystals. They were arranged in a circle in the untouched snow and in the middle there were imprints in the snow in the shape of a heart. Oscar was quite proud of the magic he had performed to make it look like this.
And then there was the centre piece. A sealed letter lay in the middle of it all. That had probably been the hardest part. It contained an apology for how he had treated her in the time they had been apart. Not for breaking up, for it had been only natural that he had done so, but for how he had acted afterwards in his pain and grief. Oscar very much hoped for her to find the letter there so he wouldn't actually have to say it, but he'd have to come out of hiding if she didn't.
Parker was in no mood to chase her feline across the school grounds to get the little brat inside the Castle, and the cat seemed to know that as the animal stopped, flicked his tail and eyed his human. The Hufflepuff girl had slowed her tracks as she noticed the setup, and for some reason she felt like she was going to interrupt some cheesy romantic thing and she didn't want to do that but instead she just froze in her spot, eyeing the setup and smiled a bit. No one else was around the area, or so it seemed. So instead of doing the wise thing, and go back inside she decided to investigate it and she slowly kept her wand at her side just in case someone tried to attack her with a hex.
Her head tilted when she eyed the centre piece, and she slowly picked it up, adjusting her reading glasses and read it. "Jack, buddy stay within eyesight..." she said as she read the apology and had felt tears in her eyes reading it. "Oscar?" she asked, looking around for a moment. The letter stayed between her fingers, and frowned as she looked around the general area.
I am truly sorry for how I treated you in the last few weeks. It's been really rough without you and it just hurt so much, but it always seemed like it was all the same to you. I know now that that wasn't true. I'm sorry for what I did. Most of all I shouldn't have hexed you and I feel terrible about it.
Parker, I wouldn't have thought possible how miserable these last few weeks have been and how hard it would be without you. I need you with me, not against me! I realized that I don't care anymore what other people think of it. I never should've let you go just because of what your family said.
Please forgive me, my angel. You still are the most important person in my life and I wish I could turn back time to make all of this undone.
Love,
Oscar
Just a few seconds more Oscar waited before he snuck towards the open door and looked outside, waiting for Parker to stop - and she did. She picked up the letter and Oscar's insides turned into a knot. What if Ollie had had it all wrong? Any second now she would start laughing, rip the letter to pieces and stalk back into the castle, break him. He just knew it. He'd had it coming. He'd done it all wrong.
But she did not. At least not immediately. Instead she called out to him. It was now or never.
It was hard to persuade his legs to move, putting one foot in front of the other, his head bowed, he stepped out into the snow. Only when he had reached the dim glow of the ice cristals did he stop and hesitantly raised his head, ready for his execution.
There were so many questions she wanted to ask, but knew it was wrong to ask all of them. Even if she was still hurt from the incident - the hex, she still wanted him back and a part of her wanted to make the first move but she had no willpower to do so. No, a part of her had wanted to hurt him like he hurt her. A part of her wanted to slap him every time she saw him but she didn't. Why? Because she still loved him, and she might be an idiot for considering on taking him back. Her family can shove it.
Her eyes had scanned the area before she spotted him, and at the sight of him looking like he was a puppy about to get punished for peeing on the floor. But no, even if the idiot deserved a good kick in between the legs, she wasn't going to do it. Instead, she moved toward him slowly, the letter between her fingers and she stopped a few feet away from him.
"You did all this?" she gestured around them and smiled a tiny bit.
Parker approached him slowly and Oscar clenched his hands to fists, ready to take the punch that was coming. It was what he'd signed up for. But it wasn't coming. Instead she spoke calmly and Oscar could hardly believe his luck. They were definitely going in the right direction. But he wasn't all the way there yet. He didn't dare get his hopes up yet. "Well, I had to do something, right?" he replied helplessly, shrugging.
The Slytherin finally looked up. "Listen, I know I've been a huge dolt, but it's just not the same, you know... without you," he heard himself admitting and he had to swallow hard again. 'Just come back already', he begged in his mind, waiting for her judgement.
Parker was beyond surprised at his efforts to try, and win her back. Honestly, she thought they didn’t have a chance of getting back together, but he made a move she didn’t expect of him. This wasn’t the guy she thought she knew, and she believed that he was sorry for what had happened. How he broke her heart, tore it out of his chest and even insulted her a few times to try to get her to hate him. To be fair, she hated during the fights, during the insults but he was someone she couldn’t stay mad at forever. Despite her family being shits, and trying to scare him, she loved him and wanted him back too.
So, Parker just stood there looking at him and studying his movements. It took her several seconds to even answer him, to reach out to grab his hand but she did. She took his hand into hers, her thumb tracing circles on the back of it. ”Honestly, you were a jerk.” she said, still being calm. ”I missed you. I did.”
Oscar looked down to make sure he wasn't imagining things when Parker took his hand. His heart was pumping very fast now, he was so close. He held her hand firmly and took her reproach in a stride. But she had missed him. She wouldn't say that if it weren't the truth. But if she didn't release him soon, he would just burst. And probably make a run for it. He wasn't above begging anymore at this point. "Please, Parker," he implored her, trying to make sure she knew that he meant it. "Please forgive me?" He swallowed against the lump in his throat. "I want you back. I need you!" Taking a heart Oscar took another step towards Parker, then reached out to cup her cheek with his free hand, hoping she wouldn't end up slapping him in the face.
Did they have a chance to get back together? Sure. Was Parker scared of what her family would think? Yes. But did she care? No. She wanted to have him in her life as much as he wanted her to forgive him for the past couple of weeks, the heartbreak he had put them through. If Parker was honest, Oscar had brought it onto himself, but she wouldn’t even say a thing about that fact. So when he moved forward, Parker’s eyes went wide a bit when he said he needed her.
Sure, she could be cruel and back off, tell him to leave her alone but she loved him. She had no will to do that to him. Instead, she leaned in when he cupped her cheek and she closed her eyes for a moment. ”I forgive you.” she said softly, and frowned. God, she looked like crap.
Oscar closed his eyes and breathed out all the tension that had built up until now when Parker said that she forgave him. She still loved him, just like Ollie had said, and it would all turn out fine. "I love you too," he said with a smile at the teasing insult. Softly he caressed her cheek with his thumb before, now that he was sure he wouldn't earn himself a slap, he leaned in to finally kiss her again.
If his efforts had worked out so far, Oscar was willing to go a bit further. He had gotten Parker back now, but he wanted to keep her and he wanted everything to be back the way it was before. And he would show everyone that she was his girlfriend and whoever didn't like it could go screw themselves. He would show them. "You know... the school ball is coming up, so seeing as... Would you go to the ball with me?"

Truth be told, Parker wasn’t expecting for her evening to turn out like this. What she had expected was to find Olivia’s lost item, and return it to her without much of a thought about the Slytherin boy Parker was hung up with. But the events in the past five minutes had indeed happened, and was she going to complain? No. Even if she was one to complain about a lot of things, she wasn’t going to complain that Oscar had pulled this off. She was quite impressed with how far he had gone to get her back. You win an Oscar for this performance, Oscar.
Parker had kissed him back, smiling a bit more as she stood there, ignoring how cold it was becoming. The smile only grew when he asked her to the winter ball, which she had planned on skipping until now. If he wants to dance with her, he will dance with her. ”I would love too…” she said, giving him a nod.
A smile was spreading on Oscar's face and it was slowly turning into a grin when Parker agreed to go to the ball with him. He had never imagined that everything would work out perfectly like this. There was giddiness beginning to bubble in his stomach and he found it difficult to contain it. But he wouldn't start making a fool of himself now. Instead he did his best to remain somewhat calm, at least to the outside and gently kissed Parker's forehead before hugging her tightly to himself. If felt so good to have her back, breathing in the scent of her shampoo and feeling her and just hear her voice with something that wasn't insults.
"Let's go inside," he finally suggested. "Wouldn't like to have a reunion in detention," he joked, because his heart was feeling so light now. It had been a dark few weeks, but that was over now. Showing his happiness, he smiled at Parker and took her hand.

Did her best friend know about this little setup? Parker wanted to go question her but for now she just wanted to stay by her boyfriend’s side for the remainder of the evening, or well, until curfew came into play. Last thing they both needed was to be in detention even if it would mean to spend time with him, unless a professor had plans to separate them for the time being. It would suck, and Parker would want to hex anyone getting in the way of her love life. Watch out, Tyrell’s. She wasn’t going to let her family get between them again.
There was a huge smile on her face when Oscar suggested to go inside before they were caught by a professor or any of those teacher pet’s. ”Detention sounds so fun though…” she joked as he took her hand. ”Let’s go.” she said softly as she heard a cat meowing behind her. ”Get your ass inside, Jack.”
