With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
Riley had wanted go out and get himself a drink, as he had been rather stressed. Since he had been having a ton of matches, and he knew a good drink could just make everything feel better. And dealing with his brother had not been easy. The man entered The Three Broomsticks with a smirk on his face, and he went up to the bar where he ordered himself a drink. "Could I have a glass of your finest whiskey." he said with a smile. And he watched as the bartender poured him a glass.
He said with a smile, "Put it on a tab." he said as the bartender nodded. The man took a sip of his drink and the man had walked over to table. Where he took a seat and took some more sips of his drink. Hoping that someone might stop and talk.
Blake was bored that day and she had off that day from work, she didn't get a lot hours but she did get a good amount of hours to pay her bills. As she walked into the three broomsticks and looked around. She seen that there was someone by himself and she definitely did get curious when it came to seeing people alone. Blake walked over and she stood next to the table a little nervous. "Hi, do you mind if I join you?" Blake asked curiously, she could always go find another seat if he said no.
Riley took a sip of his drink as he sat back in his seat. He had looked around the tavern and watched everyone walk in and out. The man needed a drink there was no denying it. He didn't get why he even bothered to stress himself, because he put so much energy into his brother only for him not to do anything.
His thoughts were soon interrupted by a girl's voice, that caused him to avert his attention to her. And she had been asking if she could join him, the twenty-four year old gave a nod. "Not at all" even if he was in a way lost in his thoughts.
Before she sat down, he said "I'm Riley by the way." he said with a smirk on his face.
Blake watched as the mysterious man looked up at her and she smiled when he said that she could. Blake took a seat across from him and watched as a server brought her the drink she had ordered before looking for a seat. "Thank you, I really do appreciate it" Blake was honestly thankful that he had accepted her request.
When he had introduced himself as Riley she smiled. "Nice to meet you Riley, my name is Blake" she introduced to him. "So Riley what brings you here today?" Blake asked curiously.
Riley wanted someone to talk that was his family, and see if someone could reason with him on certain things. When the girl told him that she had appreciated that he let her sit with him. "I need someone to talk to anyway if were being honest." he said with a smile. Taking a sip of his drink and listened to her introduce herself. "Pleasure is mine, Blake." he said giving her a small smile.
"I came here to get a drink, and take a breather." he said taking a sip of his drink, "How about you? What brings you here?" he asked giving her a charming smirk, "Is it to get a drink or do you got a reason?" Riley asked hoping to learn something about her. Hoping that tonight he could make himself a friend and be able to talk.
Blake could tell that something was going on in that head of his. It sucked when she got lost in thought or if she had something on her mind and was itching to talk but couldn't talk exactly. "Well I am always going to be all ears if you want to talk about it. I can always be of assistance in that department" Blake offered her ears if he wanted to talk about anything.
When he asked what brought her here, she simply just shrugged a little bit. "Well I came here for both a drink and to get away from all the stress that the world throws at me. Sometimes I think life will get easier and simply doesn't" Blake briefly explained.
Riley knew it could really help him to have a second opinion in regards to how Toby lives his life, "Well if you are all ears, do you know how to convince a twenty-two year old male, how to be a dad to his three year old son?" he asked taking a sip of his drink. "Because I apparently am a bad person for trying to encourage my brother to be there for his son, when he wants to be accepted. But how can you accept someone who abandons a three year old, and leaves him for his mother to raise?" he asked the girl. "Do you have any siblings?"
"That's a feeling I know all to well. But it's just so hard to try and be a good brother, and also be a father-figure for my nephew." he said taking another sip of his drink, "As well as balancing my career as a Quidditch player, and it's like I have no time for myself." he said looking at Blake, and he decided to ask, "What do you do for a living?" he asked.
Blake was a little stunned when Riley asked about if she had advice on how to get a twenty-two year old to step up and be a dad. A father actually did that to their son? And then let the mother raise the child all by herself? She felt so sorry for whoever that mother was and Blake thought about it and processed what Riley has said. "Well in all honesty if you keep trying to convince him to step up and he won't, the only thing you can do really is to either let him and leave him alone or you can try reverse psychology and make him believe that what he is doing and has did is okay and pretend to support him and it can make him see the error of his ways? Believe me that works on a lot of people who think they're right when they're actually wrong" she's tried it on her friend and she thought it was a miracle. It took three months but it worked. When he asked if she had siblings she nodded. "I have a younger brother that I take care of yes. He is currently in Hogwarts" Blake replied.
Blake took a sip of her drink and nodded. "Oh you play Quidditch? That's awesome, for what team?" the blonde asked. "Believe me the only thing you can do is roll whatever life throws at you, it's all you can do for now" Blake then took a little longer sip when he asked what she did. "I work at the spiny serpent, it's one of the only places that will hire me really" Blake nodded before sighing, she hated being a damn werewolf, it took away her life and her good paying job.
Riley needed the advice and he listened intently to the words in which Blake told him about what he could do. And when she mentioned saying the reverse psychology and he thought that could actually work. "I honestly have never thought of reverse psychology way, because right now I am pretty sure I am at a crossroad. I mean it's not like they're both innocent it's just hard knowing that someone could do that." he said with a simple sigh when he thought of his brother. And when she spoke about how she had a younger brother, "So you know exactly how I feel when it comes to try and deal with trying to have your brother make a good decision with his life?" he had asked with his eyebrow raised.
He gave the girl a soft nod when she asked him if he played, "I just so happen to be the captain for Pride of Portree? Do you like Quidditch if so do you got a favorite team?" he asked with a smile And he raised an eyebrow and asked, "Why is that the only place that hire you? Are you a werewolf or something. If so how do you feel about it?" he asked with his eyebrow raised.
Blake only had a little brother and she wasn't really keen on his love life but she always told him that if he was to date someone be faithful and treat them and love them in the way he would like to be treated back. She didn't understand the whole cheating and what not. "I don't honestly know your situation fully with your brother but the best thing to do is to not give up on him. Yes he may want you to but I believe there is hope for him and he'll see that eventually as well" Blake didn't want to get in Riley's business but she did offer some advice. Blake simply nodded. "My brother isn't as bad but yes I understand" Blake replied.
When he told her how he was apart of a Quidditch team she had to admit that was really exciting. She could never professionally play but she loved to watch it. "Wow that is amazing, I wish you the best of luck and yes I love Quidditch and my favorite team is The kenmare kestrels" she answered happily and when he brought up what she was, she frowned a little bit but nodded. "I am a werewolf, I was turned actually kind of recently in July. I was walking home from my good paying job when I was attacked and turned, then I lost my job and had to find a job that would actually hire someone like me. Believe me it is so new for me and it is horrible in ways mostly during the full moon but it's new having people who I once was friends with be kind of scared, some people stayed but not all" Blake explained.
