With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!

Ariella remembered being in her last year only a few years ago. She said farewell to this school knowing she wouldn't want to come back and yet here she was about to off herself because she was back right where she didn't want to be. Her father had plans and this was a plan of his she didn't understand.
If it was one of his stupid sympathy and empathy lessons she soon would tell him off for that too without making her sound like a spoiled brat. Ariella just didn't do... feelings. She didn't like to let emotions get the best of her and she didn't want friends either.
They would just make her weaker. The woman was grading homework and let out a sigh as she tossed it all on a pile. She needed a drink, or ten. There was a knock on the door and with a wave of her hand the door opened. "Yes?" she asked not looking up at who it was.
It was drawing closer and closer to that time of the month, to the full moon, and Jack was feeling guilty. Guilty that he and his parents couldn't afford to buy wolfsbane potion for his sister, Maggie, with their money combined. Guilty that every time he saw Maggie, there was fear in her eyes, that she looked around frequently as though the Ministry would come and capture her at any given moment... which was a distinct possibility because the Ministry saw her as a danger to society, instead of a young woman who transformed and locked herself away three nights of the month to keep everyone around her safe. It made him feel terrible because he was her older brother, he wanted to protect her, but he couldn't do a thing, try as he may... and he did try. The letters that he shot off to the Ministry every single week showed that. But he was hitting a wall, getting nowhere despite his best efforts, and it frustrated the hell out of him.
Rounding the corner of the dungeons, Jack walked towards Ms. Tyrell's office. Maybe she could help somehow. He didn't expect her to do anything for him just because she was a Professor who technically worked for him, but it didn't hurt asking if she knew of an affordable way to buy wolfsbane, if there was a way of buying it in lots of payments instead of outright. Sighing as he reached her office, Jack combed his fingers through his hair before knocking. A 'yes' sounded in response and Jack walked in, over to her desk. "Ms. Tyrell, I'd like to talk to you about something, if that's alright? It's a personal matter."

Ariella wasn't one to help friends out because to be quite honest she had no friends. She remembered Jack as her own teacher and now here he was walking into her office. Like she was in a position of control which she was, she was in control of her own potions, her own poisons and now students. Maybe that is why her father told her to become a professor, to learn about control? Ariella moved her hand to close the door behind Jack and motioned for him to have a seat without saying a word.
There were cauldrons brewing potions, each liquid a different scent and yet she had it all contained so they wouldn't overlap. Ariella sat back in her chair and frowned. "I'm all ears." Ariella wasn't the type to be a shoulder to cry on so if he came to her sobbing and whining about how horrible his students were or his classes were going she would just as easily swing that door open and let him out.
If he wanted to gush about other professors she would also not be the one to listen. Ariella was quite honest when she said she didn't really like any of them anyway so she was not of opinion that whatever he thought of them mattered to her. But unless he said a word of his intentions she was only wasting thought assuming what he was going to tell her in the first place.
Ariella's cold eyes looked at Jack who seemed quite.. troubled. She saw that look on her siblings and it was worry. He was worried so she was sure that the personal matter would be quite important if he came running to her.

Ariella was quiet, not saying a single word except for 'I'm all ears' with that cold as ice look in her eyes, and Jack's leveled his gaze straight back on her. He wasn't quite sure if he was meant to find her intimidating, if that's the type of personality she was projecting towards him, but he wasn't cowered by her in the slightest. How could he be scared of somebody who he taught back when they were in first year?
"I was hoping that you could tell me if there is a cheaper way of sourcing wolfsbane. My younger sister, Maggie, is in dire need of it, and on a professor's salary, I don't earn enough to be buying it for her monthly," Jack said, straight to the point. "If you know of anybody trusthworthy selling it at a cheaper rate or a place that would be open to an agreement where I can pay it off in sums, I would be 'all ears.'"

Ariella's cold nature came with the territory in her family. If she was warm and open she'd be open to getting hurt or getting her family hurt and she refused to ever let that happen again. Ever since Peter's disappearance she refused to open herself up to new people, to make friends. Her coldness got colder over time from when she was in school to now.
Sure she wasn't intimidating people unless she wanted to and with Jack she didn't need to intimidate him. She saw no reason as Jack was not a threat to her or her family. He was like the dog you want to pet but knows it has a bite coming with the bark.
As he explained his situation she motioned to one of her cauldrons. "Fill up a vial.." she sighed and got up. It was in her personal interest to have wolfsbane potions around and her eyebrow rose slightly. "I am not just a teacher here, I studied potions ever since I was a little girl and not many can do what I can do." she assured Jack.
"I brew it every month because..." she said and frowned. "Because of personal reasons." she said and grabbed a vial. She started pouring some of the potion in and hummed. "So your sister is a werewolf?" Ariella wasn't one for small talk but maybe she knew if Peter was alive.
The fact that Ariella was so easily gesturing to a cauldron, telling him to fill up a vial, caught Jack off guard because... was it truly that easy? Apparently not, because he found himself shaking his head. It wouldn't be... right. Just taking something from one of his colleagues who was technically lower than him in the power pyramid. "I... I have to pay, Professor Tyrell, or give you something in return. I can't just take it. It's not right, given that you would have bought these ingredients out of your own salary," Jack insisted. He wanted to help his sister, desperately so, but... he didn't want to ever be accused of taking advantage of his position of Deputy Headmaster. His reputation meant a lot to him, more than anything in fact. He'd worked hard, very hard, to get where he was.
When Ariella revealed that she brewed it every month for personal reasons... well, it wasn't that hard to deduce why. He'd taught Peter Tyrell before the boy had essentially been kicked out by Hogwarts, thanks to the Ministry legislation and officials that hadn't given them any damn choice. "Your brother... how is he doing?" he asked quietly, trying to gauge if this is a conversation she felt comfortable with. "My sister got attacked in 2010... she was 18, had just graduated Hogwarts. We'd had a night out, celebrating the fact that I'd just become Head of Gryffindor and she was starting her traineeship at St. Mungos. When we were walking home, I watched her climb up her stairs to make sure she was got inside nice and safe. It was very... very sudden. I subdued the werewolf who attacked her, but it was too late. She'd already been bit."

Ariella never talked about Peter, truth be told she was sure that he was one of the sore subjects no one in the family mentioned without either being stupid or trying to hurt feelings. Parker was suffering the loss of her brother the most and Ozzy was being tortured by their father, blamed like it was something he did.
In result her family of assholes only got more cruel and Ariella preferred to think she always had been cruel in the first place. "Like you said, it's not cheap. These ingredients I buy because my family comes from money that only keeps coming." she said and frowned for a moment as she leaned back against the desk.
"I wish I knew, he's been missing for two years now." she said and sighed. "I brew these potions, get them to my boyfriend for Christmas.. hoping he'd find my brother and give him this." she said and nodded. She didn't brew this for bloody charity, she didn't just give it away and she made this for her brother.
"My brother was out camping, with friends." she said and shook her head. "Ozzy was supposed to go with him but he didn't like camping so he didn't go. Then a wolf attacked Peter and his friends.. they never found his body." Ariella frowned and grabbed some vials, filling them up.
"Look I know that it's expensive and I studied potions ever since I was a little girl. I remember telling my father to use his wand so he could do the stirring so I have the knowledge and skill to brew anything. You can have a vial for your sister but please take one to Donovan. I do hope he can bring Peter home." Ariella needed to stay behind, she needed to look after Ozzy and Parker.
"Remind me again what your father does?" Jack said with a furrowed brow. He wasn't quite sure if she had told him but he knew that the name Tyrell wasn't a ministry name and despite being regularly featured in the Daily Prophet, he couldn't recall the family's job ever being mentioned. On top of that, Ariella said that the money kept on coming which implied that her family wasn't rich from just inherited wealth passed on from previous generations. All of those things, they sparked Jack's curiousity.
Jack nodded politely, though he had no suggestions to offer up to Ariella or her boyfriend on how to locate the witch's younger brother, and he was quite certain that they would have exhausted all options in order to find Peter. "Hopefully your boyfriend will find him soon," he replied with a nod. "I... for everyone's sake, I hope that they find him soon. The Ministry... they couldn't locate him with the trace?"
"I'm staying at Hogwarts over the holidays, but if I run into him in Hogsmeade, I'll pass it along," Jack told Ariella, before cracking a small smile as she shared her story of telling her father to stir a potion with his wand. "Did your father take well to that? You telling him what to do?"
