With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
After a long day at work Jonathan really could use a strong drink. If it didn’t get better after four years, with one spending quite a lot of time in a bar he didn’t know what it would take. Okay it had had some progress. After all at first he didn’t go near a bar in a mile radius, so some progress had been made. Not that Jonathan thought it was enough, not at all. That day a female customer had squeezed his bum and he had calmly walked to the kitchen only to slightly freak out there, more like thy and keep it at slightly.
Now he was sorting through the rest of the day, knowing that he would either need a strong drink or a good long run around town. He did keep in shape with it after all and it cleared his head. He got called a muggle because of it, but he did find that manual labour or a good work out cleared his mind from whatever he didn’t wish to be in there. Right now it were memories of that summer and the subsequent terrors that came back regularly.
Putting two glasses on the counter he went back for the booze. He would try to get Eva to drink with him, not because things might turn in his favour with her, more because she wasn’t too overly happy bouncy. Pouring the firewhiskey in the two glasses he hollered down the pub for Eva. ’’Yo Eva, care for a drink tonight, or are you heading straight home?’’ Personally he downed his first glass in two gulps to have the burn take his thoughts back to the then and there, he was no alcoholic though. He was quite sure of that as he poured his second one.
Today was a long day and Eva wished it would end a lot faster. There was a bottle of scotch and a comfy couch with her name on it just waiting for her to pass out on. The brunette was cleaning in the back of the bar making sure it wasn't a complete mess and grabbed some peanut oil for the floor. Wooden floors always looked a lot better once oiled with peanut oil. She always thought the western bars had a good idea with tossing peanut shells on the floor.
Eva looked up when her co worker called her name and asked her about a drink and she just nodded. "Thanks man." She said and downed the glass with a groan. "Another." she was not even drunk enough to deal with the rest of her evening. Sure she was told to stop drinking many times but what was one more night before she would jump on the sober train? Again?
"What drove you to drink anyway?" She asked with a frown and headed over to the bar. "Someone slipping you a quick one?"
Gulping down his second drink he shrugged as he poured her another as well. There was no reason why he would refuse her a few drinks, in fact he intended to get drunk himself. Jonathan couldn’t remember if he had ever told her what had happened back then. He did try to keep it to himself, even though some people had connected the dots that he had never been the same after that summer at all. All he knew was that he needed more, with that he poured his third, downed it and poured the fourth. So maybe he was going a bit fast, maybe he’d make dumb decisions, but that was for later.
’’What drove me to drink was being squeezed in the ass and the onset panic attack afterwards. It was either go for a run or drink. Today I chose the latter..probably also because I don’t know what you mean with a quick one either.’’ Only now a slightly growing buzz was making itself known in the back of Jonathan’s head, finding that he didn’t really mind he took another sip this time. Just not an entire shot this time. ’’What drove you to drink, aside from my invitation? I can’t recall if I told you what happened that causes the attacks though..’’ Not that he cared at that moment either, but he would let it slide for that very moment. Instead he finished his drink.
Eva knew this job had its perks and it's downsides. A lot of people often saw being touched by drunks as a downside but Eva was so used to it she didn't see it as anything anymore. Eva watched her co worker and smiled a bit as the boy seemed quite upset about whatever seemed to have happened to him. Truth be told she wished she could do something to help but lately she had been as much help as a dead woman.
"A quick one.. you know.." She tried to get the thought through to him but it felt hopeless. "A woman giving you five minutes of pleasure? Come on? Does that never happen to you?" was she the only one who got lucky with this job. Well.. until Elijah.. now she felt like the only sex she'd get was from her own hands until he graduated. "I don't need a reason to drink.. I had one, it got overrated and now I don't want to stop." she shrugged and drank from her glass.
Was he red in the face, probably, did Jonathan care? Yes, yes he did and he didn’t like it one bit. Of course he knew how Eva could be, he also knew that usually he didn’t mind one bit. However after 4, or was it 5 shots of Firewhiskey now? The young man found that he care, or at least enough to blush from it. ’’No I didn’t know that it was getting lucky in the back and I thank my lucky stars it doesn’t happen. Or at least that they don’t try often.’’
As she said she didn’t need a reason to drink, but had one before and just liked alcohol now he shrugged. He couldn’t fault her reasoning in any way. Not that he was really trying. After all he could say it was bad for her health, but repressing memories with overdoses over physical exertion or alcohol weren’t exactly the best examples he could give himself. ’’I guess I can only say fair enough to that. After all I am not exactly the guy that’d say it’s unhealthy. If she was hot, well she definitely looked good, but no I didn’t have a quick one.
The reason for that was very simple as I hightailed it out of here the moment she squeezed my bum. I don’t think I have ever told you about the one summer in Hogwarts I hate more than any other, having been….uhm darn how do I put this….getting lucky against my will by a muggle of the gender I do not prefer in a divebar.’’ With that he took two more shots of the same whiskey they had been drinking so far. God knew he needed it.
