With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
It was a long day and honestly Dallas was done with sibling issues for a while. He had been trying to be the same guy but he felt like no one else saw him that way, no one but Morgan and Artemis. Why were people so focused on the monster inside like it was all that mattered? Why did a wolf shape suddenly define him even when it shouldn't? Dallas let out a sigh, his anger shouldn't get the best of him, not again.
He just needed Artemis to help him calm down emotionally. His non pg-13 thoughts would remain untouched as Dallas's writer writes this. Dallas ran a hand through his bright red locks and hated how his life had taken such a dark and twisted turn but not just his... Artemis's as well.
She was in the forest that night, she was there and he wasn't there to protect her. Now they were both the monsters people feared rather than try to understand. Dallas let out a sigh as he walked into the cabin and shook his head.

Artemis had a long day in the den, painting away and staring out in the forest while working on her latest work. Her brother had been MIA for days now but she wasn't entirely worried, she knew he had a life. She wasn't his keeper, but it'd be nice to be able to hear from him sometime so she knows he was still alive. Whatever, she just needed to stop overthinking, and enjoy the evening with her boyfriend. Or, well try to at least. She knew that he had a bad head space, and thinking of his siblings at Hogwarts. She knew he had a hard time being away from them, not being able to protect them especially since their parents were just murdered in August.
A part of her wish she had been there to help them, but she was here at the cabin doing what she did best. Hide. After she was turned, she didn't want to appear in public and her parents already disowned both the twins because they were monsters. They were against werewolves, and she was afraid that if they knew her location, she'd be forced to run.
This was her home.
Artemis had been lying on the couch, listening to the radio and turned it off when she heard Dallas come home.
There was a smile on her face when she sat up a bit. "Heyyyy...."
Dallas needed his home, he needed Artemis and the little cabin that once upon a time belonged to his family. He paid the housekeeper to make sure they had food knowing very well she wouldn't snitch on them, she was family. Dallas smiled as he saw the beauty that was Artemis, really her name did her justice and just crawled on the couch, his head in her lap as he did so.
"How was your day?" he tossed some money on the table that he made from work. He worked for shits and peanuts but it was more than nothing at all. This life wasn't perfect but he felt like he had to contribute to society even when he really didn't want to. The redhead looked at his girl lovingly and smiled a bit, her long blonde locks mesmerizing him.
"I missed you, honestly I don't know if I should even go to Hogsmeade anymore. It just hurts more than anything else." he said softly and moved his head up to steal a kiss before lying it back down in her lap.

Artemis had been working so hard at keeping everyone together, keep them from hulking out and killing each other. She remembered when she had to keep her own brother and Dallas apart from each other cause they were goddamn idiots sometimes. But she loved both, wanted to have them be friendly toward each other but that was never going to happen. They weren't friends before the werewolf attack, and you'd think they would bond over it because all their lives changed. Nope. Sometimes she just wanted to bap them upside the head, make them see that they all needed each other.
A sigh had left her when Dallas laid his head in her lap, and her hand went to stroke his head smiling a bit as she looked him over. She hummed as she listened to him, and kissed him back before she continued to run her hand through his hair. It was something that she enjoyed doing.
"My day was full of paint. And I'm pretty much finished with my latest. It's drying in the den right now." she said and eyed the den not too far off from where they were seated. "How would your siblings feel about that though?" she asked softly, looking at him with concern.
"Your paintings are always magnificent." he said and smiled a bit, leaning into her touch. Honestly she kept him calm, made sure he didn't flip the fuck out on everyone including her moronic brother. Apollo was going to get them killed one day, he just knew it. The redhead wasn't going to fuss over the moron now, he had better things to do like spending time with his favorite girl aside from his twin. He loved Morgan, she was his soulmate and he adored his brother but the fear in Skylar's eyes...
"He's scared of me.. Skylar." he said and frowned. "I can see it in his eyes every single time.." there was pain in his voice. He didn't want his brother to fear him or his sister needing to eventually choose between the two. Dallas was making their lives hell with existing and he needed to give them space, he almost got caught when he was hanging out with Morgan.
"If Morgan writes me she knows I'll try to come see her but.. the fear in Sky's eyes.. it makes me feel like a danger to them both." he admitted and looked at Artemis reaching to stroke her cheek.
"Have you heard from your brother?" he might not like the asshole but he cared about Artemis. That was enough.

Sometimes Artemis wished she hadn't been camping the summer they all got attacked, she wished she stayed at home and behaved. The female had plans on sneaking off to see Dallas that night but plans had changed, the attack had happened and it destroyed many lives. She was told by her parents to never come home again, along with her brother which pissed him off to a point of wanting to rip their heads off. It took a lot for Artemis to calm her own brother down, and the Reid's were nice enough to let them stay at the cabin. This had been her home ever since, and even though her brother had a room, he was rarely ever there.
The female looked toward the den for a moment, smiling a bit and nodded as she listened to him. The fear, she understood it. Hell, even though she was also a freak of nature, she was scared that one day Dallas wouldn't be able to calm down when she'd try. It had yet to happen but she had nightmares about it. "If you think it's a good idea of keeping your distance, I'll support you." she said softly as she looked at him.
Then the brother topic came up. "Nope. I'm not worried. He'll show up whenever."
Dallas tried to be a good man to Artemis, he was only sixteen but god he never stopped trying. Every single day he would wake up wanting to be better than he is and he wondered if one day he would be the guy she deserved because he surely didn't feel like he deserved someone like her. She was the sea to his storm, the ice to his fire. He never would be able to hurt her because even her face was enough to calm him down.
He stroked a lock of hair out of her face with a smile. He wouldn't be here if it wasn't for her. But the UK werewolves got a whiff of him, they knew he was one and he was sure the recruitment wasn't a silly question, they meant it. "There was this boy at work today, he offered for me to join his pack. At first it seemed like a nice idea but then he spoke of this being a gift and if Morgan and Sky were worthy.. they'd be given it too." he shook his head with a frown.
"There are real freaks out there Artie, literal freaks." he shivered a bit and refused to even consider turning his sister and brother into the monster he is. "I asked for time off from work.. we got enough money.. I just think laying low is the best idea.." he said and eyed her with a small smile.
"What do you think?" Artemis was his rock, his queen and his love. He would never do anything to harm her or get her into trouble.

You see, some twins got along and were each other's best friend's but Artemis and Apollo weren't that. Even if they were best friends before shit had gone down, they drifted apart and they would often bicker if the subject they talk about is her love life. Apollo never really approved of Dallas, and would sometimes make crude remarks at the redhead, and Artie would have to step in between the both of them before there was a bloodbath. Last thing she needed was to lose a brother, or her boyfriend to their stupid boy fights. If their father was around, he'd say boys will be boys but the bastard wasn't there. Hadn't been there for the past couple of years. Ever since she was attacked, she hadn't been able to go home and be a family. Both she and Apollo were disowned, and were told to never come home again. It destroyed her but she respected them.
Artemis frowned at the thought of someone trying to turn both Morgan and Skylar, and she knew damn well Dallas wasn't going to let that happen. She knew of the younger Reid's fear, and had seen the look in his eyes at a distance when she visited the village with her boyfriend. There were times when she just wanted to hug the boy, and would often think about writing him a letter to tell him that everything was okay.
Artemis snapped out of her thoughts, and her eyebrows raised as she tried to process what Dallas had said and she nodded. "Time off? Sounds good enough for me, Reid. Now you can bake those brownies you promised me the other day." she said and smirked as she poked his forehead with her finger.
He tried so hard to be a good boyfriend to Artemis. Even when he seriously hated her brother for being such a dick to her, Dallas was there. He was there when she had her first turn, he was there when she needed someone to lean on and he would be there for as long as she'd have him. Sure he often thought he would lose her over the fights with Apollo but the guy just never left him be.
He just wouldn't leave Dallas be. Always attacking him, blaming him like he was the reason this all happened. He had his own twin to worry about, his own siblings to protect and they needed him as much as he needed them. Of course it weighed a lot on Dallas but it weighed more on Artemis and the others.
"I will, I will make the brownies, I will give you all the kisses and before you know it you will beg me to go back." he teased and kissed her finger.

Even if Artemis hated the fact that her brother and boyfriend didn't get along, she was always the voice of reason between the two when they're rolling around in the dirt being boys and would often put them in their places. Some would say boys will be boys, but sometimes she wanted to bap them both upside the head and she often did. He wasn't a woman to mess around with, and they knew if they stepped on one of the egg shells she walked on, they'd be dead or worse. She had a temper but it rarely ever showed because last thing she needed was for her inner beast to come out. It scared her.
The blonde giggled and watched him with a smile. "You are such a dork. I will enjoy this time off of yours." she said and eyed him as she played with his hair. "The only time I beg is when we are...." she didn't finish and smirked a bit as she thought it over. They were free to be themselves.
I will tiptoe down that line but I will feel unstable
Dallas loved cuddling with his girlfriend knowing his anger wasn't going to be an issue anytime soon. There was no reason for him to get mad, he just loved her warmth and kindness. She accepted him and he accepted her. He felt secure with his head in her lap and just kissed her belly. He needed Apollo to stop picking a fight with him, stop making Artemis miserable with his behavior.
The redhead looked at her and grinned from ear to ear. "I am your dork." he said and took a box out of his pocket, holding it up. The box contained a ring that used to belong to his mother. Dallas loved his girlfriend and he wanted to spend more time with her. God knows how long they would have, every single day counted more than ever.

Some girls had fairy tale wishes, meeting her prince who would later become king, and have have his queen by his side during his reign. Other girls didn't believe in fairy tales, and Artie was one of them but there are moments when she felt like she was dating her prince because of the way Dallas treated her, and worshiped the ground she walked on. The female felt lucky to have him in her life, to hold her whenever she's scared and to be by her side no matter what. She knew damn well Apollo hated the fact that he couldn't get rid of the redhead she fell so in love with and will continue to do so until the day she dies.
The moment Dallas pulled a box out, and opened it, her eyes had widened as she noticed the ring inside. This wasn't what Artemis expected to have their night go, and she can feel her heart in her chest going faster than it should. "Dallas...." she said and smiled as she stared at the ring. "It's....beautiful..."
I will tiptoe down that line but I will feel unstable
Dallas never thought he would find anyone else he cared about as much as he cared about Artemis. There were times where he knew he screwed up for the worst but yet she stood by him. Yes her brother hates his guts but he wasn't going to give up on Artemis because of that asshole. Sometimes people just had to deal and Dallas was going to show them how much they had to deal with.
He held the box out, a lump stuck in his throat as he looked at his girlfriend. He looked at her expression, her features. When she finally said something he just smiled like the idiot he is. He knew it was sudden but every single second counted and he needed it to count.
"Not as beautiful as you are." he said and smiled a bit more. "Marry me?" he asked with his puppy dog eyes. "I know we're young but with the life we have, every second counts."

Artemis wasn't expecting him to pop the question so soon, and she was speechless when she looked at the ring then at him, then back at the ring. They were both sixteen years old, hiding from people and enjoying their little freedom. Sure, there was stress with the werewolf laws, but she wasn't going to let that get in the way of their happiness. Being in this cabin was something she enjoyed, and the peace it brought always brought a smile to her face. Another thing that made her smile, was the dork with his head in her lap at that very moment. He made things peaceful for her.
When he asked the question, Artie's eyes had filled up with tears as she looked at him and then to the ring. "I--..." she paused as she couldn't find her voice for a moment. "Yes..." she said and nodded with tears rolling down her cheeks. "We only live once, Reid."
I will tiptoe down that line but I will feel unstable
They were young but they were far from kids. Dallas had to grow up fast to survive and they were living in a cabin, hiding from the ministry and everyone's radar because right now they were labeled enemy number one even when they had nothing to do with what happened. The redheaded boy just felt like a boy again because the nerves to propose to his woman got to him.
He looked at her face and smiled brightly when she said yes and he spotted the happy tears. He sat up a bit and leaned in to kiss her. Yes they lived only once and he would fight for her until his heart stopped beating. "Yes we do.. future mrs. Reid." he said with a grin and stroked her tears away with his thumb.
"I love you." he said kissing her again. Artemis was his life, his rock and without her, he had nothing.
