With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
Ozzy had found himself lying back on the grass after he was dealing with other people that day and he was taking a break from his daily tormenting a fifth year Ravenclaw. He had a headache, and he needed the fresh air instead of being stuck up in the castle. He had his arms tucked under his head, sunglasses on and a toothpick in his mouth as he thought over this past weeks plans. Things were hitting a door, and he wasn't expecting Mavican to strike him in the face because he was messing with the midget. But he would come up with more schemes if needed.
His eyes were closed when he suddenly felt someone standing over him and he grumbled as he shifted a bit. "You mind? You're in my sun. Move your bloody ass or I'll move it for you." he growled. He opened his eyes, and lifted his sunglasses to look at the intruder.
[break]Melinda had gone outside to enjoy the Fresh air. Because of her condition she couldn't stay in the sun for long periods of time. She was still a new vampire, having turned over the summer when she was unexpectedly attacked. She missed being human a lot so Melinda still tried to get whatever sun that she could before having to go back into the castle.[break]
[break]She wasn't expecting her seventh year to go like this, with having to deal with being a vampire and all that it entailed. She hadn't told anybody because of all the anti werewolf stuff that's been going on lately. Even though vampires and werewolfs were completely different creatures, Melinda was still a creature.[break]
[break]She glanced up at the sky to admire it for awhile when she heard a famiilar voice speaking. The vampire groaned to herself as she recognized who was speaking. It was a Slytherin from her year and he was a complete jerk, as she recalled. "What is your problem? The sun doesn't belong to just you. Everyone should get a chance to use it if they want." [break]
The male had sat up to get a better look at the shadow before him, and he grumbled a bit more when he realized it was a fellow seventh year. Fantastic. Another damn Gryffindor. Don't get him wrong, he liked some from that house but some he just wanted to get rid of. Truth be told, he didn't have much conversation with this Melinda person in the past seven years but he knew the name, knew her house and knew her voice because of classes. Ozzy had a good memory, and people sometimes thought he didn't give a crap about his surroundings (which is mostly true, he didn't).
When she snapped back, the male couldn't help but laugh at her and he raised his hands. "Okay then. The lady is right of course." he said and took the toothpick from his mouth, tossing it aside and glanced up at the sun after he set his shades back over his eyes.
