With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
Parker was having an inner struggle with herself, and she hated feeling like this. She hated feeling like her world had ended when her ex-boyfriend ended things, and can't look at her. Parker had no idea what she had done wrong, and it saddened her but she knew that this was because of her dear old brother who attacked him for no reason at all and he had ended things, and refused to say. So yes, she blamed Ozzy for this. For her broken heart. Maybe she had a little blame toward her sister too cause apparently her family was terrifying to deal with and once you've crossed either of them, you made an enemy out of all. Goddamn sometime she hated this family for this reason.
Parker had been staring at the place her ex was once seated while she ate her lunch, and had a made expression on her features. Was he moving on? Did he not care anymore? For some reason she just wanted to ask him these questions but every time she approached him, he'd walk away or ignore her.
Maybe it was time for her to move on herself. But how can she have a boyfriend if her brother keeps scaring them off?
Sometimes she wished she had killed her brother when she had the chance.
Richard was having an opkay day so far. School was going fine, his hobbies were under control, the latest howler was on its way to yet another ex step father and yet he found that he didn’t care about it all that much. Probably because he just wanted his mother to be happy and maybe, just maybe make sure that the muggle avoiding prick would be chloroformed into a muggle vasectomy. Nothing life threatening, just very permanent, if you had no idea what happened at least. Every muggle surgeon could reverse it, but a pureblood wizard visiting a muggle surgeon on his own, doubt it.
Now Richard was just browsing through his bookbag to see if he had all his homework assignments with him for the study assignment after lunch. Satisfied that he had everything he was looking around the Hufflepuff table for a place to sit down and enjoy his lunch.
Seeing the expressionthat was on one of his fellow Hufflepuff’s faces he winced. He knew he made faces at times, but usually that was when something was very wrong. He had no idea if this was the case for the young woman at the table, but decided to take the leap. ’’Excuse me, this seat taken, Parker right?’’ Richard didn’t drop into the seat right away, not fully comfortable asking Parker if everything was okay straight away, or just assume the seat was free. Not that he was a coward, but the upper years weren’t always the most comfortable to be seen with lower years.
Parker's thoughts were interrupted when she heard a fellow Hufflepuff's voice and her eyes flicked up toward him with a small frown. No, she didn't have anything against younger years, she didn't care if she was spotted with them. Besides, her brother had a second year as a little friend so he shouldn't really judge her for having a guy a year under her take a seat. She wasn't one to tell someone to f off. Instead, she just moved over when he asked her if the seat beside her was taken and she gave him a smile. It's the least she can do, right? Maybe make some more friends.
"Go ahead, take a seat." she said, smiling a bit more cause maybe she can use a friend. Maybe she can use the distraction and ignore the fact that her ex was seated far away from her in her damn view. Maybe he'll just get jealous of Parker hanging out with another guy.
Two can play this game buddy boy.
"And yes, it's Parker. And you're..." she squinted a bit as she tried to think of the name. It was at the tip of her tongue.
Richard got the green light to sit next to Parker and startled when she beat him to introducing himself. ’’ Richard, pleasure to meet you.’’ Picking some more of the healthy stuff for his lunch he set to building his sandwich for now. ’’I don’t mean to pry Parker, but I couldn’t help but notice you looked a bit out of place compared to normal...everything okay?’’ Mentally slapping himself a few times for sounding like either a stuck up prick, or a dude of older than at least 55 he went for giving her a half grin.
He just hoped for the life of him that it wouldn’t be anything relating to parents as that was something he had way too much experience in. On the other hand he wasn’t hoping for relationship problems either, having never been in one, or had anyone even slightly interested in him that would make for some very awkward conversation. Shrugging mentall about how beggars can’t be choosers he waited for the response. While his mom complained that Hogwarts still hadn’t caught on to the we should eat more healthy theme he had promised his mom to not only go for the junkfood.
Parker eyed Richard with a sweet smile, watching him closely for a moment before shooting her ex-boyfriend a glance, making a face in the process. Her eyes trained on him for a few more seconds when she heard Richard's question and she looked at her new friend, chuckling a bit as she moved to fix her hair real quick. "Everything's fine. Or well sorta..." she said, looking down at her lunch for a quick moment. Why did he want to know? Was he one of Oscar's friends making sure she wasn't going to cry over her dumb boyfriend?
"Just have a lot on my mind I guess. You know, homework and drama." she lied, not even glancing at Oscar again. She had no idea what his problem was, but she was going to play this game too. If he wanted to hang with other girls, she can hang with other boys. Whatever.
Richard definitely wasn’t used to hanging around girls, noticing that they had a lot more little ticks than guys. They seemed to fix their hair more often or glance at others that weren’t part of the conversation. More on a whim than anything else he took a look at where she directed the glance, only to see a guy who he thought was her boyfriend. Apparently not everything was okay as it was only sorta fine, but Richards wasn’t one to pry too much. He was ready to shoot down the unasked question if he was sent over by her boyfriend, or he thought that that was the unasked question.
Richard found himself nodding along until she got to the point of drama, that was where he blinked a few more times and tried to figure out what she meant. Not exactly one to read between the lines. His subtlety was more the castle stone through the window type. That was Richard he was way more the in your face, say what you mean because he was rather terrible at it most of the time. ’’If you think your boyfriend...or from the comment of drama I assume ex? Sent me over...well forget that. For that sort of thing he would ask a friend. I don’t have many friends to begin with if I’m honest with you.’’
That what he said right there was sadly the truth. The thing with him being so direct often caused Richard to be without friends, or close friends at the least who would be just as frank with him, it just didn’t seem to happen anymore. In some houses more than others, which is why he was glad that he was placed in Hufflepuff they valued hard work, honestly and loyalty. Which were things Richard strove to be or rather try to keep from destroying himself with. The loyalty that was shown to his mom was also an issue for him, which was what ticked Richard off so badly. ’’Sorry for being blunt, but if he ended the relationship, you deserve a lot better. The house of honesty, hard work and loyalty and what do they do...I just don’t get it. Why promise someone to be there for them forever and then just...leave...’’ Subconsciously thinking about his mom as he told her up right and straight away what he thought about things like that.

Okay, so he wasn't sent over by Oscar, and she was a little thankful with that, and on the other hand, was worried that her ex-boyfriend would do something stupid if he saw Parker hanging out with another guy. Parker knew damn well how her ex-boyfriend ticked, and that he was a jealous type. There was always a wonder why Parker didn't have much guy friends, it was because of the Slytherin boy. The boy that she loved, or rather love. Not that she would mention to her newfound friend that she was still feeling something for the boy. Oh, how she wanted to slap that bimbo sitting next to him across the face. Oscar was her man.
Her head turned as she looked toward Richard with a raised eyebrow, and she nodded a bit. "Well, you can call me a friend if you'd like." she offered, frowning a bit. Friends were rather needed in this place. To keep you calm if you're stressing about exams, and such stuff.
"Yeah, he ended it. And people tell me that I deserve a lot better. Everyone does. But I'm just...still hung up on him."
Richard gave Parker an honest and open smile when she said that he could call her a friend and was about to respond in kind. However that was the moment that she admitted that he had been the one to end things with her and that people said she deserved better, but that she was still rather hung up on him. That did make Richard’s smile falter a little bit. Not the fact that she was still hung up on him. Just too many people assuming that with those words everything was okay and done. That she should just move on, or something along those lines.
’’First of all I am glad you’ll allow me to call you my friend, I would like to respond in kind if you’ll have me that is. Friends are important to have, at least it seems that way. Now the second point I want to bring up, even though it might be a bit of a pain..’’ Richard heaved a sigh and closed his eyes for a second before leveling them at hers. It’s okay to be still hung up on him Parker. I know I would be if a girl just broke up with me. I can’t say I know how long it is ago, but I do know what can happen. I’ve seen it with my mum and my father. That and maybe one stepdad. It’s the thought of having been whole, of having been complete and knowing exactly what caused it, or rather who… what I am trying to say is, maybe you do deserve someone better, but that is not all you need to hear. You need to feel it if you think so, you have every right to want to gauge that…what’s the word… skank? Yeah I think skank’s eyes out. Just don’t do it, the hospital wing would make a fuss. Man I’ve been speaking too much, I’m sorry’’
Richard really was sorry about it, just when he started to get going about things he felt deeply about he just couldn’t seem to shut his face. What he really thought he needed was a pet to talk to or whatever to distract himself a little bit when he got going like that.
While Richard spoke, Parker’s eyes went straight for her ex-boyfriend across the Great Hall and she wondered if she can move on easily. Maybe find someone to fill that empty void. It was hard to be in love with someone who doesn’t feel the same, and she can feel her own heartbreak all over again at the thought of the break up. For some reason she wished she was just like Ariella, not wanting to feel human feelings. To do what her sister did best, keeping people at arms length. She had no idea what to do now. She was at a loss, and she hated it.
”I want to do more to that samn skank hanging around him. Trust me, I’m just…” she stopped herself as she eyed the boy sitting next to her. ”I sounded like a homicidal maniac there, I’m sorry.” she said, giving him a weak smile. She knew Richard was trying to help her, and she appreciated it.
He knew he had been talking too much, he just knew it, or maybe not, but he just didn’t get it. No what Richard was thinking at that very moment was not very flattering of himself at all. Then again he did not have any great ideas on how to deal with emotions, he was more logic driven and what his mind could comprehend he would act on. Which is why the loyalty thing he had was such a big thing for the guy, not he was talking to someone who had a broken heart from a relationship and he honestly had no clue what to say or do anymore. As his indicator for physical contact was about as broken as can be, as the one he interacted most with on that level was his own mom.
The next words that came from her made him chuckle a bit though, now there was something he could very well understand, anger and revenge, maybe a tad veiled, but understandable for him. ’’No problem there Parker, I’ve dealt with worse. People vowing that they’d burn the skanks and their entire families in their houses, or chop ‘em up and use them for owl fodder.’’ Giving her a small smile in return he started to think on what he had read about such things, which admittedly wasn’t all that much. It turned out that most people didn’t exactly miss the person they had been in a relationship with, but the feeling of belonging or being whole, but one could hardly say that to someone else.
’’I know I can’t do much right now maybe, or at all Parker, but if I can do something to actually help, please say so, or feel free to hang around for whatever reason. Whether that be needing a calm place for homework, or just complaining to someone, feel free.’’ With that he stuck an apple in his gob, trying to think of something to do or say that was not depressing, too logical, cliché or whatever.
Parker was at a loss when it came to Oscar, and a part of her just wanted to empty the plate full of eggs over his head as he spoke to the skank, and called him all kinds of names. But Parker decided that she would be the bigger person, walk away from it and ignore him even if it killed her. Maybe she'd ask her sister for advice even though she knew damn well Ari could careless about Parker's boy problems. Maybe she should worry more about her brother than her ex-boyfriend snogging some other girl that is not her. Yep, that's what she should focus on. Maybe write her father and ask for Peter updates.
"Thank you, Richard. For the help. If I need anything, I'll let you know." she said as she finally took her eyes off Oscar, making a face as she tried to keep her own anger from boiling over.
Richard had gone back to eating what was left of his breakfast by the time that he had finished speaking and was looking at a sausage like it had done him great personal harm, not unlike he would look at a step father for that matter. In which case the personal harm was more psychological than physical, but he supposed that was normal to some degree. Hearing the words from Parker gave him a little smile back on his lips, but his thoughts weren’t very kid friendly at the moment, or friendly at all towards people who would stab others in the proverbial back. Heaving a final sigh he looked at Parker again the same smile gracing his lips.
’’No problem Parker, that’s what friends are for and I’ll keep my ears out for the words.’’ Looking at his watch he found that the time for class was approaching and he started shoving books back into his bag. Nicking an apple for a after class snack he checked over where he had been. ’’Well Parker, though I’d like to stay and chat I would probably get detention if I missed the first bit of transfiguration. I hope you have a better day than breakfast. See you in the common room.’’ Giving her a wave he headed to the doors of the great hall. Hoping that both their days would be fine.
People had told her to get over Oscar, and it was hard when he was shoving girls in her face. Was it jealousy? Maybe. If someone were to tell her that it was jealous, she would try and deny it. She needed to find some closure, and knew that if she let him get to her from afar, she was screwed. Perhaps she needed the help. Perhaps she needed to find a replacement. A rebound. Even though she wasn’t the type to do such a thing, she would do it to make sure she didn’t try to murder her ex-boyfriend.
Parker snapped out of it when Richard spoke up about being late for class, and she had given him a nod. ”Oh yeah. I’ll be seeing you.” she said as she moved a bit in her seat before hurrying to finish eating her breakfast.
She would have to plan her ex-boyfriend’s death later.
