With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
Elijah had been hating this school year, more and more. Sure, it was his final year and then he can go off to some job he would either hate or enjoy. Maybe finally settle down with a lady or even a guy. Right now, he had his eyes on a bartender but she wasn't giving the time of day, and now he's just a grumbling little lion, grabbing his charms textbook and opening it to the correct page. Charms wasn't fun. It was his least favorite subject, and sometimes he would make Ryker tutor him cause he didn't try hard enough in class. It was a miracle he passed in the other years but he had to step up and be serious.
If that was even possible. You see, Eli had other things on his mind other than studying. It was trying to get someone to spend some one on one time with. But lately he felt like he had lost his mojo because of this bartender down at The Three Broomsticks. He couldn't get his mind off this woman, and it was bothering him. Perhaps he should have a chat with his sister. She would know what to do. Hopefully. Last time he went for advice, a girl wouldn't leave him alone after their encounter.
Ah well. Maybe he can get lucky on his own. Like the past.
Elijah was about to give up on this attempting to study when he heard books fall nearby, and he looked up to see books have fallen and no one near, or so it seemed. He quickly stood up, making his way down the little aisle and knelt down to pick up the books, he had no idea that someone had dropped these.

Thankfully, Grace had already finished her schoolwork for the day and as she entered the library, she was excited to find some other non-school books to read. Maybe a new romance novel, or an exciting adventure story! It all depended on what she could find and as she skimmed the shelves, she finally found one that piqued her interest... right on the top shelf.
Grabbing her wand, Grace hesistated for a moment. Should she try to do the non-verbal version of leviosa? They were, after all, starting to learn non-verbal magic in class. After a second, Grace decided that yes, yes she should. Flicking her wand and watching the book she was after levitate for a moment, Grace was hopeful it would work... until it all went horribly wrong and suddenly, not one or two or even three books came flying off the shelves but five books, causing Grace to leap back behind a table in fear of her safety with a tiny spooked noise.
She had only just started to catch her breath and was about to step out from behind the table to start cleaning up the pile of books when suddenly, a boy appeared. Elijah. She'd had several classes with him over the years but she hadn't really spoken to him all that much. Him being in an older year intimidated her, as did the fact that he was quite handsome and almost always seemed to have others around. If she could have, Grace would have avoided interacting with him at this moment, but she felt awful... it was her mess, and he was tidying up after her.
Moving forward, Grace knelt down to help gather up the books. "Oh, no. Please - I. That's my fault. I shouldn't have - it scared me a little, so I was... I wasn't hiding, they flew off the shelves so I had to move so I didn't get hit. I'm not lazy, I promise. I wasn't going to just leave them there because that's rather rude and I don't want anyone to think that about me because I always try to remember my manners," she rushed out, somehow managing to get all of the babble out without taking a breath. "I... sorry. Thank you. I'm... you're Elijah, right? Grace. Gracie. We share a few classes."
Elijah wasn't mad at all for the books flying off the shelves. The seventh year had no reason to be angry, and so when he heard Grace just started to ramble, he allowed her too and he just hid the smirk that was breaking. He didn't mind giving her a helping hand, it was the least he can do and he knew some people would just not help at all. Some people were rude around here, and Grace was lucky that it was him that spotted it and not that damn Slytherin student that enjoys making others hurt cause he knew damn well Ozzy Tyrell would make a big deal out of this situation. There was a time he'd love to love punch the damn guy, and remembered that he was friends with his sister. Remind him to give her a talking too.
There was a smirk when he placed the books on the table nearby and had let out a small chuckle. Yep. he knew her from the classes they shared together. He knew how clumsy some of these ladies can be, and he sometimes thought it was him that made them go weak in the knees. Perhaps he was getting a little ahead of himself.
The male raised a hand, waving it off as it was no problem. "That would be me, yes." he said, watching her and nodded a bit. "Don't worry about it. Books tend to have minds of their own sometimes in here." he gave her a small smile.

When Elijah raised his hand and waved, it was as though a spell was cast over Grace because immediately, her mouth zipped close and she stopped talking. She didn't want to be rude and speak over him or interrupt him. At the reassurance of 'don't worry about it," Grace smiled albeit a bit nervously. Unfortunately, she tended to worry about everything. It was just one of those things.
"It's... I... I'm really grateful that it was just you about," she told him sincerely, "and not, um... a... someone else." Who that person was, she didn't know... but in Grace's mind, they were someone who would have likely pointed and laughed at her for being so silly and not being able to cast a simple non-verbal leviosa charm. "What are you doing - I mean, reading. I know you're probably reading because... because that's what you do in the library, but... um... are you reading anything specific? Or studying?"
Elijah stood up after making sure there were no more surprises (books) on the floor. He wasn't one to judge the clumsiness of one person as it reminded him of himself in the past. Yes, Elijah Young was once a clumsy little kid before became who he was, and was probably one of the best beaters his house has seen in a long time. Okay, that's him being cocky cause he knew damn well that he wasn't the best player out there but sometimes the boy was a little ahead of himself. Especially when it came to girls.
There was an amusing smile on his face when it seemed like Grace was having problems talking to him and he wouldn't laugh right now. People can be so rude sometimes. "Well, nope. Just me." he said and looked around, making sure no one else was nearby. Last thing she needed was for a certain Slytherin to come and start laughing and harassing her. Elijah had no idea what his sister had saw in the Tyrell moron, and was thankful she was dating someone more sane.
"Uhh. I was putting my nose in the Charms homework. Trying anyway. I'm not the best at the subject."

When the boy didn't speak very much straight away, Grace was worried. Had she scared him off, or was he usually this quiet? She wasn't sure but Merlin, she hoped it wasn't the former. "I'm, um... glad. It's just you. It'd be awful if I had more than one person witness this," Grace said, an embarrassed flush spreading across her cheeks.
"Oh! Charms. I... that's not really one of my better subjects either," Grace said, lips tugging into a slight frown as she thought back to the class. She never really excelled... at all. Often times, her spells didn't work or they somehow got messed up. "I... do you have a tutor or something?" she asked before realising how potentially rude that sounded, her eyes widening. "Not... not, that you'd, uh... need. A tutor. I'm sure. Goodness me, I'm sorry."
Elijah wasn't offended by her words at all, knowing damn well that yeah, maybe he should have a tutor in the damn subject. But he had his sister who just happened to be a master at it and if he needed help, he'd ask her for it. Sure, she'd call him a dumb jock but he wasn't all that dumb! He just didn't understand Charms sometimes, and there was nothing wrong with that. So there was no harsh harm in the question Grace has asked him. He was about to open his mouth and a small chuckle came out instead of a reply. This girl, she was adorable.
"Well, no. I don't. My sister is actually really good at it, and so if I need help, she'd know what to do." he said and eyed the blonde for a moment with a sweet smile. "And with that she would just make fun of me and my boy brain. I don't believe she thinks I have what it takes."

When Elijah laughed, at first Grace was taken aback. Was that... had she said something stupid? She always was. But then he actually spoke and Grace relaxed a little, nodding. "Your sister... she's, um... the one with the coin, right?" She shared a few classes with Ryker, and often saw her practicing with a coin outside of class. "That's nice that she could help you though. I wish - well, my brother Arthur - I think he's in your dorm, actually, because he's a seventh year Gryffindor too - helps me with some things, but he's really busy with his friends and I don't really like to bother him even though mum and dad said that I'm a little sister and that's my job."
But then Elijah said something about Ryker making fun of him and his boy brain... and immediately, Grace's lips were pulled into a frown because... "Are boy brains really that different to girl brains? I mean... they're brains. I don't think your gender really makes a different... right?" Did it? Thinking, Grace bit her lip before perhaps a bit daftly telling Elijah, "My dad tells Arthur not to think with his boy brain all the time, and use the one in his head but... that doesn't really make sense, does it? Because where else would his brain be?"
Perhaps Elijah should have explained the brain ordeal better but he didn't think about that did he? No. His stupid boy brain tends to get him into a lot of trouble, and now he was trying to find the right words instead of sounding like a complete moron. He should have seen this coming, but he didn't and now he was staring at Grace as if she had three heads. Way to go Grace, you made the boy speechless for a moment in time, enjoy it. The male had his mouth open, then shut, and repeat for a few more moments before he broke out into a small smile.
"Umm....well..." he started, and looked around hoping someone would come to his rescue to get him out of this mess. This was his own damn fault! "Boys mostly think about....well, you know." he said and gestured a little bit with his hands. What the hell were you doing, Eli?!
He cleared his throat, knowing this is too damn awkward.

When Elijah stared at Grace, his mouth open akin to a fish out of water, Grace shuffled uncomfortably on her feet because had she said something wrong? What had she done? Then at last, he spoke, looking as nervous as she felt.
At Elijah's gesture and explanation that boys 'mostly think about...' Grace was lost for a moment until recognition clicked. "Oh! With their stomachs. Right! My, uh... my parents always say that Arthur eats them out of house and home... and he is always talking about food so that definitely makes sense. Wow, I just didn't know that they called his stomach a brain!"
If somebody stumbled upon this conversation and assumed Grace was putting on an innocent facade, they'd be wrong. She genuinely had no clue when it came to, well... boys. "Oh, no. I'm sure that's not true. Boys... I know some very intelligent boys. Like, um... oh, like Aiden Valentino! He's lovely. Very intelligent too. I suppose that's why he was sorted into Ravenclaw because he's very cluey."
There were a few times in the past several years where he'd face palm at someone's way of thinking and whatnot, and Elijah knew this was one of those moments he would do that. But instead, he stood there, dumbfounded as he listened to Grace talk about boys stomachs. It just then, it occurred to him that Grace Longbottom has never been with a boy. And no, he wasn't going to give her a lesson in all that cause that's her parents job to prepare her for this kind of stuff. How could they not have talked to their daughter about this before she was surrounded by hormonal teenagers?
There was silence for a moment as Elijah had thought about how to respond to this. "Well, yeah." he said slowly and rubbed the back of his head as he thought about this Aiden dude, and he made a face. Okay no. Bad news right there. Nope. "I'm sure he is."

When Elijah was quiet for so long, Grace immediately started stressing. Had she said something wrong? Or something that was really silly? She had no idea, and so she stood there playing with the thread of her jumper until finally he spoke, not saying much when he finally did. "Oh... um... yeah. I... yep, he is," she said, biting her lip. She must have messed up this conversation somehow. She wasn't surprised, that was her thing most of the time. "Well, I've, um... gotta go. Prefect rounds and all," Grace murmured before grabbing her things, her cheeks flushed pink as she hightailed it out of the library and straight towards the common room. No doubts she'd be dwelling over their conversation and wondering where exactly she went wrong for the rest of the night.
