With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!

Kaylie didn't really feel like going to classes today. She just didn't care and was seated on the couch, finishing her smoke. She didn't smoke much but this moment felt as good as any to smoke a cigarette before publishing herself to the public after she had gotten into a fight with another snake.
The bastard made comments about her girlfriend and well, Kaylie didn't do well with that. The blonde let out a sigh and looked into the fire before hearing footsteps coming near like she wasn't showing the mere fact that the couch was occupied.
Nonetheless she said nothing, she just waited for the person to do something before she went off on them.
Sam was very glad that he had some free periods in the week. He had been studying more than he thought he would and was actually enjoying it for once. Maybe because he wasn't as pressed for time as last year. He'd had an enjoyable breakfast, taking his time before rushing a very stressed Raouf off to class.
He had stolen a loaded plate of food from the Great Hall, and walked with a pep in his step. His plan for the rest of the morning was to sit back and maybe do some Transfiguration homework. Maybe. He was munching on a piece of toast as he entered the common room. He immediately laid eyes on KAYLIE ROUSSEAU, and wandered over to her. "Kayyylie! Whatcha doingg?" He offered her the plate, "Want some breakfast?"

"Samwise." she responded making a very funny joke in her mind about that name. He did look like a hobbit in a way. One of the many disappointments of not being real were hobbits to Kaylie but she wasn't going to complain. She would've dropped out long ago if she could. The blonde eyed the plate and rose her eyebrow ever so slightly.
"No thank you, I rather not eat the amount of carbs I have to run off later." she said and cocked her head to the side a bit. Why did he look so happy? Was he on drugs? He had to be on drugs with that attitude.
"So what drug did you take to raise your spirits hmm? Oh did you get laid Samwise?" she joked and gave him a grin.
Sam furrowed his brow at Kaylie getting his name wrong, still smiling. A joke, no doubt, but what? The name rang a bell... Something about his father but... he let it go. What was the point in standing there drawing a blank and he knew Kaylie wouldn't explain it, even if he asked. It was a shame that so many of the Slytherins in his year seemed to like being petty and broody. Still, talking to someone broody was better than talking to no one. He could stand being alone, but he didn't like it.
Kaylie declined his offer of food, "Suit yourself." he shrugged, dropping onto the couch next to her and chowing down on a sausage and bacon. He choked when she asked if he were on drugs, laughing. He swallowed his food and turned to her, glad to see a grin on her face. "Just breakfast, quality stuff." He set the empty plate down on a table, and turned back to Kaylie, sitting cross legged. "I heard about that fight this morning. What the hell was that about?"

Kaylie tossed the cigarette in the fire so Sam didn't have to deal with the smoke while eating. She could sort of be polite if she wanted to be, her eyes were on the boy on the couch, her legs tucked in before he could take a seat.
Everyone who knew Kaylie knows she is always someone who gets into trouble. She gets into fights on a daily basis because she hated being insulted and especially when they went after her girlfriend to her.
"When do I not get into trouble?" she said and still had a smirk on her lips.
"Mmm this jerk insulted my girlfriend in front of me, made some homophobic jokes and I punched him in the face." she said with a small shrug.
Sam didn't get Kaylie. He didn't get her at all. But then again, he didn't get most of the Slytherins in his year. Just the other day, he was literally caught by surprise with a jinx from one of his fellow Snakes! He wished he had more friends to hang out with in the common room instead of meeting his Gryffindor, Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw friends outside or in an empty classroom. He was so glad for Raouf.
Maybe it was because he had some sense of self preservation, but either way, he couldn't be bothered fighting people to get what he wanted. He leaned closer to Kaylie, inspecting her jaw. She looked perfectly fine, and Sam wondered for a second whether she was just saying it just to sound 'cooler' but immediately backtracked. He needed to stop being so mean about his housemates. Maybe they weren't as bad as he was making them out to be. Sam leaned back on the arm of the chair, "Nope, nothing."

No one would ever understand or know why Kaylie is the way she is. Why she is so unlike most Slytherins and yet fits the uniform all too well because she is too damn proud to not fight against whatever is holding her back. The boy across from her, he didn't understand what she did or why she would even get into trouble as often as she does.
Truth be told she wouldn't be in this situation if it weren't for the mother at home who's fists always found a way to Kaylie's face or whichever part of her deserved it. Over time the woman was getting rougher and it meant that Kaylie did not expect to come back to school after Christmas, not alive.
The blonde observed his expression, did she spot judgment?
"Oh good, I hate to explain another bruise to my girlfriend." she sighed and poked him with her foot. "What happened to the big smile friend? How was your day?" she needed the subject away from her.
