With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
Rebekah watched as a Hufflepuff gave a somewhat answer but it was someone from her house that had gotten it right. Rebekah was kind of glad that her house had gained ten points but who knows if they would win the house cup that year. One could only hope. Rebekah sighed and watched as the Professor got someone for taking a nap in his class and she knew that he was going to be a hard Professor but at least he was down to business. Rebekah grabbed her wand when he said that he wanted a mouse transfiguration and she knew that she needed to get this right before the end of class today. She was good at Transfiguration but there definitely were people better then her and she knew that. Rebekah pointed her wand at the object and began to try and perform the mouse transfiguration.
As Grace said she wasn't wearing any pants, Aiden's brows raised and his ocean eyes looked the girl up and down for a moment. He was.... lost for words as the girl scrambled to backtrack what she had said. Luckily Sam had snatched the boy's attention in the meantime, so Aiden didn't make Grace squirm any more. "I have no interest in your business Caverly," he snapped and turned his attention back to Mr Samuels. The idea of summoning a severed head to put in Sam's bed was certainly tempting, and the Ravenclaw student made a note at the top of his notebook to look into the possibilities.
"Promise you won't scream about the spiders?" Aiden said to Grace, rubbing his temple at the idea that she would. She looked like the spider-screaming type, really. He didn't give her very long to reply though, before he cast the spell in question and a big, hairy tarantula looking spider slid out from his wand and onto the desk, a silvery thread of web lingering between it and the wood. "One spider, as ordered," Aiden watched it crawl about his desk with little regard. He couldn't wait to disappear it out of existence.

Thank Merlin for small blessings as Aiden didn't comment about the whole.. knickers situation, instead sweeping his eyes over her which made her feel mildly uncomfortable because goodness, she was quite certain that the view wasn't as nice as looking at... at one of the other, prettier girls in their year. But then Sam was speaking, saying something about Aiden and his business and... and putting something near it, and Grace was lost about what they were talking aboutbut thankful that Aiden's gaze was pulled away from her temporarily.
"I... I don't mind spiders, actually, we always find them when we're gardening or... or out in the yard. I just don't want to hurt them," Grace said, murmuring the last part more so to herself because she didn't want to injure any living creature unless she had to. But she was fairly certain that the conjuring spell wouldn't hurt them anyway, not that... she could actually do it as she soon found out, moving her wand over and over whilst reciting the incantation, only to have no spider come out from the end of her wand. It was enough to have Grace's cheeks tinged red and avoiding eye contact with everyone because Merlin, she was so... so awful at magic. Why wasn't this working? What was wrong with her?
