With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!

feathers in my hair
While the weather was still nice this far north, Danica was taking the opportunity to spend time outside while she still could. Not that she was about to dance on the grounds with everyone in the whole school able to watch, including all the Durmstrang students--but she could at least stretch out in the grass. She closed her eyes as she sank into a split, leaning forward to let her elbows rest on the ground while she did. There was a book on the ground in front of her, a Muggle graphic novel to read while she laid in the sun.
Who said you couldn't get a tan in Scotland?
Flipping open the book to where she'd left off before she'd boarded the train to Hogwarts, she began to read, listening to the soft splashes of the lake nearby. Right now, it almost seemed as if there were no terrifying creatures lurking beneath the depths at all. Dani could never understand why Lydia liked Care of Magical Creatures so much--mooncalves were enough for her any day. In the distance, some of the younger students could be heard laughing as they played some sort of game on the lawns. Dani smiled softly, hoping that they were all happy and free of things like bullies and crushes that plagued her.
Over the course of the past few days, Izzy had found herself with new roommates, people she never even had seen before in her life now shared a room with her where she slept and to break it down, she didn't know what to think of them. There was this girl, sweet as could be but god her teeth just started to hurt by the thought of spending more than five minutes with that girl. How could people even stand it? She sure couldn't and yet she was greeted by her with hugs and brownies.
Then there were two girls who seemed to be sisters and quite troubled at that. She didn't know them well enough to assume anything but god if there was drama involved at least give her some food before she could listen to their problems. Then there was some rich looking girl who was close to the other one, all in all they were not Izzy's type of people but yet here she was, their roommate. The redhead sighed needing the fresh air more than anyone, walking out of the castle with her cat by her side.
"No, you had enough food as it is." she told the cat in her own language and almost tumbled over... a leg? "Are you... comfortable that way or just stuck?" Izzy said and though she could've just said hello, her curiosity got to her first. "I mean good morning.. afternoon.. what time is it again?" she looked around as if there was even a clock nearby.

feathers in my hair
Dani loved her roommates. No matter if she disapproved of Ollie's romantic choices lately--the group of Hufflepuff girls had been fast friends since the very beginning. She had heard the stories from other people about nightmare roommates, even from her own brother--it was way better to have the crew they did, she thought.
Which was why it was a little bit weird to have someone else living with them. Dani wanted to chat with her, always had the urge to say something, but she didn't know what. Even hearing the name Durmstrang always made her think of really awful purists, like the Averys back when their family had been involved with the Death Eaters (something that didn't surprise her at all, even if she knew Lydia would give her a Look when she mentioned it).
But with the Durmstrang students all around, it clearly wasn't going to take long, as the redheaded girl tripped over Dani's leg, making her wince for a moment. "No, not stuck," she said, blushing. She pulled her legs back underneath her, settling into a criss-cross position. "It's afternoon. I think." It was definitely afternoon--this was too awkward. "Trying to get some sun."
