With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
He likes wearing lipstick, but he doesn’t get to do it often on account of the generally conservative air of Durmstrang and his parents, who don’t agree with his open-mindedness. It’s fine while he plays dress-up with his little sister, but they wouldn’t be very happy to see him doing it on his own terms. P.S. Dark pink is his favorite.
Augusts really hates when people try to shorten his name to any version of Gus in any language. He thinks it makes him sound like a grandfather. He’ll get very annoyed with the culprit.
Since he can never decide what kind of path or even hobby to pursue, he has a lot of started projects of all kinds laying about, and he can not be bothered to get rid of them. What if he decides to pick that specific one up again? (It ain’t happening, pal.)
He smokes like a chimney. Where does he get his hands on cigs as a minor? Don’t ask me. Don’t ask him, either.
Since smoking makes one’s mouth taste foul, he’s also always got some chewing gum in his pockets.
Likes: watermelon bubblegum, annoying stuffy teachers, knitted socks & mittens, curdsnacks and other Latvian treats, chamomile tea, coffee with way too much sugar.
Dislikes:being told what to do, hot weather, thinking about his future, lightning storms.
Boggart: A lightning storm
Mirror of Erised: Himself, smiling and relaxed.
Patronus: Mink
history
The wind was howling in the old chimney, like the wolves in the forest, just much, much closer. Little Augusts squeezed his plush husky closer to his chest, head hidden under blanket, listening to the branches of the birch hit against the outer wall. Then there was a flash -- the little boy squeezed his eyes shut -- and a thunderclap. After a few more minutes he started hearing a fuss in the rooms next to him. Peeking out from under the blanket he could see a yellow light coming from the window. It was far too early for the sun to rise, right?
The house was on fire.

“Lelde! Čau!” the 12-year old exclaimed, dropping his bag on the wooden floor of the apartment, opening his arms wide open for a hug as his 4 year old sister ran over to him. The two siblings started chattering away, Lelde dragging her brother into her room when he hadn’t even managed to take his shoes off, ready to show him another drawing that she’d made while waiting for her brother to come home. This time it was a big, pink dragon with a toothy smile. Augusts promised to take it back with him next year and tape it to his table so that he’d never ever ever forget the best sister in the world.

“Do you expect us to feed you forever while you lounge around on the couch?” his mother rattled on while he washed the dishes, trying his best to keep his mouth shut. “Your exam grades are barely acceptable, I don’t know how they haven’t kicked you out! When father sees this, you’ll get an earful! When will you start growing up?”
He didn’t answer, clutching the drenched dish towel and wiping off the plate. It was useless, really, it only made it more wet, if anything. And so was his mother’s long tirades about how lazy he was and how he never did anything useful besides take out the garbage.
Hogwarts. The school his mother had wanted Ludwig to go to, and the school his father forbade him to set his foot in. Hogwarts. The stage where so many 'what if?' scenarios of Ludwig's life played out in his head until he knew them by heart.
Hogwarts. The guardian of so many answers that he needed to find. But to do that, he needed to find his brother. Wolfgang Albert Kallenbach.
How hard could it be to find one student in a school with less than a thousand pupils, when you know the age of your target, which already eliminates most of the candidates? And when you vaguely know how they look?
Ludwig had thought that by today he'd already have spoken to him and cleared things up, but he had severely underestimated how much Hogwarts didn't want to let go of its secrets. There were places he wasn't allowed to go, and the amount of places he was allowed was simply overwhelming.
