With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!

"Hurry along, " She insisted as the time was coming close for her class to begin. It'd been a fairly long year thus far, but the students seemed to be understanding the material fairly well. She was fairly lax on the younger students (save for perhaps her son to avoid favoritism). However, at the rate they'd been picking up on the charms, she found most of them were quite capable of more advanced work with a bit more practice.
"Today we'll be working on the confundus charm, " She began as the chalk wrote on the board behind her, showing the proper wand movement, posture and even a proper pronunciation. "The confundus charm, pronounced: confundo, is a rather tricky confusion spell. It can be used both harmlessly, or if the intent and concentration is near flawless, can cause effects that can lead the target to a dangerous level of confusion-- impairing their judgement in I's ways they could walk off a cliff without batting an eye." It was clear in her tone that this was obviously not a keen use of the charm, but she also didnt want it taken lightly.
"While it can be dangerous, it can also be useful in dangerous situations. Confusing a target to flee, creating a distraction in magical objects. As this is quite a difficult charm, we'll be working with something less dangerous. She handed out some charmed candies, " Soft and unable to destroy my classroom-- it will take a great deal of concentration to pull off the confundus charm. You may work in pairs, " She added, gesturing for the children to get with their partners and give the spell a try.
Zipping into the Charms classroom, Sally shot Professor Malfoy an apologetic grin and a set of finger guns because she'd been part of the group that was told to hurry up. She couldn't help that though, okay, because like... she'd come from Potions which was all the way down in the dungeons and they weren't magicians - well, okay, maybe they were but she couldn't help that it took for-bloody-ever to walk from that classroom when you were dawdling.
Sitting with Kieran and Sam on the one side of her, Sally waited to hear what they were doing today before her eyes light up. Okay, the Confundus Charm was totally cool and one she could use one day - not for the hella evil use of walking someone of a cliff (seriously, she wasn't that twisted) but if, like, someone tried to grab the last slice of pumpkin pie. As the sweets were handed out, Sally blinked before her hand shot up. "Um, miss, are we doing the charm on each other or the sweets?" she asked, just to double check.
But then they were asked to break off in pairs and shit, Kieran and Sam had already joined together which left her out in the dark. Letting out a bunch of long swears beneath her breath, Sally looked up to try and find a partner in... just about anyone. Then she saw her - Eveline. She was cool, someone Sally totally vibed with due to the whole both second year Quidditch players thing. "OI! Linwood! Come be partners with me and we can show these suckers how it's done, yeah?" she called, a great big grin on her face.

A confusion spell. Well, then- sometimes, Evie felt as if she had no need of such a thing; she was quite confused enough by a lot of her lessons, and though things did tend to make more sense towards the end, she was not really enjoying this state of being constantly befuddled. Befuddled- now, that was a fun word; she'd have to use it more often. Or maybe not; she might sound silly. Not that that would be unusual, but she did it quite often enough unintentionally to mean that she'd rather not do it when she could avoid it. Though by no means insecure, Evie considered that it was perfectly reasonable not to want to look like an idiot more than she could help.
Hearing a voice, she glanced around- not that she really needed to because she'd recognise Sally Jordan's dulcet tones anywhere. The Hufflepuff girl definitely didn't lack confidence, which Evie thought was totally cool, and she saw enough of her around the Quidditch pitch to be pretty certain that if any of these sweets went rogue, she could definitely trust Sally to smack them out of the way. Though if Quidditch were to be played using sweets instead of Bludgers then the redhead would probably have spent considerably less time in the hospital wing.
"Sounds great!" she agreed with a grin, gathering together her stuff in a hodgepodge of parchment and quills and hurrying it over to the seat next to Sally before the whole tottering heap could collapse on the floor. "Looking good, Jordan. Not taken too many Bludgers to the face lately?" Evie grinned. Sure, Sally was cool... but could she really pass up on teasing a Hufflepuff player?
