With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
It was a beautiful day outside, and Shay had decided enough was enough and get some fresh air. It was much needed and Shay was expecting an owl later that day from the bartender she was chatting with lately. To her, Eva was the only friend that would let her get away with the drinking because both of them were alcoholic. Lately she wanted to sneak off campus but knew the chances of getting caught was rather high. So high in fact that she could get expelled if she wasn’t careful and her grandparents would lecture her for not behaving herself - something that she was used too.
After the holidays though, they would let her get away with murder because she lost someone else close to her. They seen her reaction to the death of her girlfriend, and wondered if they ever replaced the broken glasses she broke in a fit of rage.
With her hands deep inside her jeans pockets, Shay walked toward the great lake and moved a hand to take off the shades she was wearing to look out at the beautiful water. This would have been a beautiful art piece if she thought about bringing her sketchbook.
The female looked around for a moment as she stepped back a few inches to take a seat on the grass, her hands finding her knees.

This school was getting to her hard, her nerves, her mental health, just everything. Kaylie was so close to snapping so hard at everyone around her, wanting to just kill them all with a fist to the face if she could. It wasn't so much anger that she had more than frustration. She really just need people to back the fuck off, leave her alone as she was being held prisoner in this school. Sure loads of people like to be here and don't think that the borders that keep them there with the wardens is a prison feeling but she didn't think like them.
Kaylie felt that many people thought the same thing, but no one lashes out. With a scoff she had left the dorm, her roommates making her want to commit homicide. There was only so much snide and bullshit she could take before she'd explode and really no one seemed to care what would happen if she did. Her hands were balled into fists, her nails digging into the palms of her hands. How hard did she have to squeeze to draw blood? How much bullshit was she going to have to take before shit went down?
As she walked to the lake her eyes found the older Slytherin. Well great, just what she needed. Kaylie went to the tree near this girl, taking in the sight. Not in a way of checking her out but more as to what the older snake was up to. Kaylie tried to be a friend to Shay but ever since shit went down with Shay's girlfriend, their friendship got cracked. Still, Kaylie was quite loyal to her friends but her own frustrations were making her mind feel limited on the amount of bullshit she was able to take.
Kaylie dug into her pocket for her flask and just plopped down in the grass, taking a gulp of the liquid. "What's gotten you down now Faulkner? Been hanging with my roommates too?"
It had been a rough couple of months for Shay, and many others but all she could think about is Lizzie. Her mind on the letter that was sent by Lizzie’s parents, letting her know that her girlfriend was gone. All the blonde wanted was to forget about it, to forget her pain for five minutes and feel alive again. Be that Shay everyone loved, the one that would be rowdy and loud and getting into all kinds of trouble because she thought she could get away with it. Though for the first time in months, she was starting to enjoy her life a little more. Maybe something was changing, or maybe she still planned on getting rid of herself when school was over. DId she want to die? One day. Shay thought about it, but she never found the strength to do it. Maybe it was the thoughts of her brothers and her grandparents that were stopping her.
Shay shut her eyes for a moment as she thought about the good times in her life moments before she felt someone plop themselves down beside her and she turned her head, about to curse this person out. When she realized it was Kaylie, her anger faded a little bit and instead she gave Kaylie a tiny smile.
”Nothing, Rousseau. For once, nothing.” she said and looked at her with a small chuckle. ”Guess your roommates are driving you to drink? Do you mind?” she asked, holding her hand out for the flask.

Kaylie truly didn't care about the shit Shay was going through because soon enough she was going to be dead and nothing could bother her anymore. Sure she didn't want to die but her mother always had the upperhand in the fights they had and she was done fighting. Kaylie had become tired of this endless fight she had with her mother, the endless struggles that seemed to go nowhere. Her eyes were on the lake, she wondered how she was going to die now. Was she going to drown in the sink as her mother beat her senseless?
Would she get hit in the head and pass out? Comatose? The thoughts were dark and quite sick and twisted but that had been her life. Kaylie never had a light life or anything like that. She had told her girlfriend that she wasn't someone Alana deserved to be with but it seemed the darkness inside Kaylie is what was attractive. Sure she was a romantic, in her own special way but mainly she was as broken as they would come and Alana, she was the one thing to keep her from falling apart.
Now she was going to lose her too. "Nothing? Wow call the prophet, something strange has happened." Kaylie said and shook her head, her eyebrow arched when Shay reached out for her drink. God why did everyone want her alcohol? "I do but you'll take it anyway and I for once don't want to beat you up." she scoffed and handed her the alcohol. Kaylie looked away again, cocking her head. "They always drive me nuts. Bunch of nutcases really. Can't even stand the lot of them but eh." she shrugged. "One bitches about my drinking, the other is the definition of soulless ginger and though the other ginger is my friend, i also sometimes feel like tossing her into the lake." she sighed.
Shay knew she wasn’t good friend to those around her in recent months but she knew she needed to move on and get on with her life. She was eighteen, about graduate and see the world. Even though she was stuck on what she wanted to do, something told her to go visit that bartender and see what she was like in real life rather than writing to her every other day. Shay can barely remember the girl when she was at school, but does remember she played a dirty game of Quidditch sometime that it caught her attention. Besides that, they barely spoken a word at one another. It bothered Shay as to why she didn’t reach out when she had a chance.
There was a tiny grin on Shay’s face when Kaylie handed her the flask and she sniffed it to see what it was before taking a tiny gulp before handing it back to her. ”Like you can beat my ass, honey.” she teased and looked out at the lake for a moment when Kaylie rambled about the roommates, causing her to snicker. ”You’re surrounded by gingers. Sounds like a problem. Wanna murder them?” she asked, teasing of course.

Every day she was out there by herself was another day where she just wanted to quit this place when she could. Run off and live her life rather than face the impending doom that is her mother. Alana keeps saying how important school is but Kaylie wondered if she ever thought about quitting school. Her girlfriend was a lot but she was also stubborn and though she was in pain, she wouldn't show it much. Alana was so much stronger than Kaylie was and she admired it but she wasn't that strong and she wasn't getting stronger either.
Not mentally anyway.
"Don't test me, you'll bleed." she assured Shay knowing very well she could kick her ass into next sunday if she wanted to. Kaylie was often underestimated but she knew the weak spots, she knew the places to hit first before the full on beatdown. Hell knows she has been into enough fights as it is. "I am surrounded by bitches and Vinda isn't a ginger but god she can behave like a soulless woman either way. I mean I get that she thinks she is better than everyone because that seems to be the Slytherin standard these days but god." she gagged.
"I've been thinking of dropping out though murder sounds just as good come to think of it." she said not actually joking and reached for her flask. "Well you haven't talked to me in months so you could have been mistaken for a wall. But in my defense I didn't say I don't have friends, just that I shouldn't have friends." she corrected her and gulped from her flask.
”Maybe I do need to get my ass beaten by you.” Shay responded as she looked out at the lake, her hand resting on her own knee and gripping onto the pants. There was a lot of anger Shay was carrying inside her, making her want to punch anyone that would speak ill of the deceased. There were times where a couple of her friends had to hold her down from going into angry beast mode when someone brought up her deceased girlfriend, saying negative things. The words were still in her head, and she wanted to go find them - beat them senseless.
But was it worth going to prison for? The female knew that since she was eighteen, she can risk people pressing charges against her. Maybe that would be her life after she’s done with this hellhole. Jailed for killing someone. Like her uncle was. ”My grandparents wanted me to take the rest of the year off you know. But I told them I wanted to graduate.” she said, reaching beside her for a rock and she looked at it before tossing it into the water.

It was not unlike Kaylie to brag about how she could kick someone's ass, mostly because she was often drunk and unpredictable. The blonde knew she was probably going to get killed one day because of this but why should she care? It was fun this way. Kaylie arched her brow though when Shay mentioned she should get her ass kicked by Kaylie one day and though that should often be alarming, Kaylie was actually quite confused about it all. "Yes because jail would be something you really want to vacation at." she returned, not being stupid for once.
"Dude I know you're suffering but hurting yourself and torturing yourself is not the way to deal with that shit." she told her. Kaylie was one who loved torturing herself, hence the drinking but she would never tell a younger person to kick her ass. "Besides, you gotta learn to fight people your own age. Look at me sounding like a parent." she scoffed with a small laugh. The hilarity. Kaylie took a sip from her flask and let out a groan, the liquid burning her throat.
"They want to protect you. I praise you for wanting to graduate though. I don't know if I would be able to." she admitted and eyed her hands, the flask dangling in them. If Alana had died, she wouldn't be able to live with herself. Sure her girlfriend is technically already dead but Kaylie loved her more than she could even think she could love anyone. "Do you have anything to look forward to afterwards?" she asked softly.
