With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
Sometimes being a prefect sucked, sometime Sienna wanted to turn in her badge and tell her professor to give it to someone else that can be trusted. But truth be told, she didn’t trust the bitches she shared a dorm with. A part of her wondered if they were after her and thought they could easily try murdering her in her sleep. Sienna knew she had more enemies than anything else in this school, but that’s what she wanted. Or so she believed. All she wanted was to make people fear her, and she got just that - sometimes. Other’s just talked back to her, which was rude. They should respect her, but they don’t.
Sienna was making her rounds with her partner of the evening, a Ravenclaw and there was silence. Even though she enjoyed silence sometimes, she hated this one. All she can hear is her own footsteps along with this girls.
Skye sometimes wondered how on earth she had ended up with this job. It wasn't that she particularly objected to it; on the contrary, she was always a fan of going for a walk to clear her mind, and to have a justification for wandering the corridors of the castle after curfew was absolutely fine by her. The rhythm of her feet against the stone flags of the floor was soothing, and it helped her to calm down and destress following a long day of nothing but worry about one class or another. Had she done her homework? Had she been revising enough? In the dim light of the evening, walking the corridors with one person or another, all those questions were somehow irrelevant. It was very relaxing.
The redhead was so relaxed, in fact, that she almost jumped when the Slytherin with whom she was patrolling tonight suddenly addressed a question to her. "Ach, so-so. You know. Same old, same old." She paused, then decided it would be polite to return the question "And how about you?"
Sienna didn’t care what or how people were doing with their education, she wasn’t there to make friends. She was there to do her job, to make sure there’s no student breaking any rules. Perhaps she should stop trying to attempt to abuse her prefect badge, knowing damn well she can easily lose it. She should be a model student, do what Professor O’Conner expected her to do. Enforce the rules even if she didn’t care for much of the rules this place had. Last thing she needed was for her parents to get an owl because she was not being responsible.
”Same old, same old.” she said in response, pausing to look at a couple of students nearby, studying them. ”It’s almost curfew, get back to your dorms.” she called toward them and looked at Skye. ”This job can be very boring fast.”
The redhead nodded wearily, not bothering to glance over at the other students that her colleague shouted to. Personally, she might have been inclined to be slightly less brusque, though not by much, but she wasn't bothered enough to do anything about it, and anyway, it would have been rude to start contradicting the other prefect in public. For the moment, her focus was just on getting through things so that she could get back to her dorm and collapse into bed once more. Sometimes she thought that she might do better never to leave.
"Still, not too long to go..." she muttered, somewhat optimistically. As a matter of fact, she didn't want to think about how long there was left to go; whether it was five minutes or five hours, it would seem far too long. Generally, she didn't mind the job, but she just wasn't in the mood.
