With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
It started out as a normal day, waking up and heading down to the Great Hall for some breakfast. Jokes were said to his twin, before Elijah went on with his day. It didn’t occur to him that this day was going to turn from great to terrible in a matter of hours. All he had been doing was sitting somewhere doing his studies and getting ready for his exams before he’d walk up to the owlery to check and see if he had something from Eva. It didn’t occur to him that she had taken several days to respond to his last owl due to the fact that he was busy studying and he assumed that she didn’t want to distract him with anything. He didn’t think anything of it.
Until he had walked up, spotting the owl holding the parchment and he had taken a treat out for the beautiful owl, giving it to her while he unwrapped his latest owl from his girlfriend. Correction, ex-girlfriend. As soon as he had read the words, noticing the teardrops on it - he knew his heart was crushed. His heart had raced inside his chest as he read the words over and over again, walking down the owlery steps toward the grounds.
Now you’d never expect for an eighteen year old boy to cry over a girl - but this wasn’t just any girl. He loved this girl, and she decided to end things between them via owl. Did he do something wrong? What was wrong with him? The male knew he had a history of not being able to keep a girlfriend, not being able to stay 100% loyal. Maybe he was like his father, a whore and not sticking around with one woman for too long.
When Elijah had made his way down to the lawns, a few tears rolled down his cheeks as he held onto the letter for dear life.
He had found his sister sitting on a bench with a book open and he headed toward her, wiping his eyes. He looked down at her as he put the letter on her book, clearly interrupting her studying session. ”What’s wrong with me?”
A nice day it seemed for Ryker as she was seated outside to study for her finals. She wanted to pass really bad and knew she was going to go through it with flying colors but it never hurt to work some more. Everyone knew Ryker was the smartest of the twinset but never would she let Elijah not pass this. Ryker was writing down everything she needed to note down when she watched a letter drop in her lap. Ryker watched ink splatter all over her lap and she was about to curse up a storm but then Elijah's voice, broken as it was snapped her out of it.
"Big brother.." she said looking up at him. His face was in so much pain that the brunette shot up from where she was seated, the stuff in her lap falling to the grass and pulling her brother in a hug. Ryker let out a sigh and held him close. "Nothing is wrong with you. You are an amazing guy Eli.." she said and broke the hug to take his face in her hands. She stroked his cheeks where the lines of fallen tears were visible. Eva broke his heart, she had to for him to be like this.
"Talk to me.." she said and frowned as she motioned for him to sit down. "What happened?"
Elijah was never one to cry, people knew it was hard to make him upset. But certain things would often make him weak - love one of the many factors. Sure, he never loved anyone as strong as he did Eva because he didn’t want to settle down until he had met her. The older girl had changed him, made him become more of a gentleman and not whore around. But now that it’s all gone, Elijah felt empty and he was sad. Depressed even. What did he do wrong? Why now of all times? Eva knew damn well that the finals were coming up and he had to focus on them, but now, he didn’t even feel like passing these exams. He wanted to go after her, ask her why.
When Ryker stood up, hugging him - he felt like his world crumbled. He didn’t deserve love, did he? Did Eva use him? He didn’t understand, he wanted to go ask her about it but he was too upset. The male had let the tears fall, hugging his sister back tightly and he shook his head.
Was he an amazing guy? If he was an amazing guy, Eva wouldn’t have done this to him. Made him fall utterly hard for her.
When the hug broke, he looked at his sister with sad eyes as tears rolled down his cheeks. Last time he cried like this was because he watched a Disney movie.
He did as he was told, sitting down next to his sister with a frown. ”I don’t know what happened. Every...everything seemed fine. And she sent this…” he nodded at the fallen items on the ground. ”Did I do something?”
Ryker never had a reason to judge Elijah for dating the girl he loved. Eva was in her eyes not a bad person but she could see the damage from a mile away. She was afraid that one day the damage would hurt her brother but she never thought it would really happen. A lot of damaged people heal with the people they loved, Ryker assumed this was going to happen with her brother and Eva as well. Still the moment he stood there, tears rolling down his cheeks even Ryker knew it was bad.
Ryker never saw her brother cry unless it was something so emotionally heavy that he couldn't control himself. The pain he was going through was pain Ryker could only imagine. Ryker wrapped an arm around her brother and held his hand with hers. Why would Eva do something like this? Ryker's eyes slid towards the ground, the letter on her work. She could see the marks of Elijah's hand holding it tightly on the parchment and shook her head as she stroked his shoulder with her fingertips. "This is not your fault, big brother." Ryker knew about many things and she knew very well that Elijah didn't do a damn thing wrong.
"This is obviously Eva having commitment isssues." Ryker hated how Eva hurt her brother the way she did. "You don't deserve any of this, she doesn't deserve you either."
Elijah had no idea what he was going to do now that he didn’t have someone to wake up in the morning with. It was depressing at the thought of waking up in an empty bed, knowing the feeling very well because he had done it many times in the past. He had never had a stable relationship long enough to know what love was until now. This made him want to drink himself into the grave, a thing he never expected himself to think. Sure, he had drank and got himself drunk many times before but he wasn’t one to get so wasted that he’d forget the night before.
”Well, that’s easy for you to say. You have someone willing to spend the rest of their life with. I have...no one.” he said with a little anger in his tone. ”Maybe I deserve to be like pops. Never settling my ass down. Maybe I’ll have several children…” he mumbled, hating himself.
There was not much she could do for him and it hurt her heart. She hated seeing her brother in pain and if she was able to go to the town she would punch Eva into the hospital. There was so much she had to say about this and yet Ryker was just sitting here, holding her brother. Heartbreak was a part of life but never Elijah's problem. The brunette just held onto him, not wanting to let Elijah go as she thought of the time where her heart was broken the first time.
All she wanted was to live in the moment and Ozzy wanted.. someone else. "That is not true." Ryker looked at her brother with a pout. "You will find someone who loves you until the world ends. Someone who appreciates everything you do for them." she said and ran a hand through his hair. "You can look forward to traveling the world, playing quidditch with everyone we meet that plays." she told him. Ryker was looking forward to seeing the world, all the fashion trends, all the cultural sites. Who knows he might meet a girl there who will steal his heart.
Elijah’s sister always knew how to cheer him up, even a little bit. Even though he wasn’t expecting to see her on the lawns, he was glad he had run into her instead of another person who could try to put a smile on his face. Ryker was his best friend, unlike the other boys in his dorm room - she knew him more than they knew him. She knew how to make him smile when the world was ending - and right now, the world was ending for him. He had lost someone who he thought loved him, but if she did love him, she wouldn’t have sent the owl.
”I don’t know if I’d be able to play Quidditch. Eva loved the game, wanted my help to get back on the broom. We made plans…” he said, frowning a bit as he thought about the things they wrote to each other.
”I’m not going to let you set me up with someone…” he said, trying to smile.
You could say a lot about Ryker and the twins. Sure there were many things a lot of people had to say about them but the one thing, the one little thing that would never pass was the fact that Ryker LOVED her brother. Her family was the world to her, even though some of them were deserving of a stick up the asshole that fits their personality, she still loved her family. The young woman was soon going to start her own clothing line and have her own fashion brand but her brother, he was meant to play quidditch.
"No big brother you are meant for the field." she told him, not wanting her brother to give up his dreams. "We'll travel and watch the world cup from all kinds of places and you will love it." Ryker was quite certain she was not going to let her brother give up on his dreams, on his desire to become a professional quidditch player. Ryker looked at her brother and sighed. "You now have plans with me and we'll visit Mara too, maybe we can get her back on the broom for a fun family game." she suggested.
Ryker knew her brother was in pain but she would be there every step of the way. "I won't set you up but if you do meet a hot girl overseas, don't do the dirty in our hotel room." Ryker gave her brother a teasing smile.
Elijah knew damn well his sister wouldn’t let him stop living his life because a girl had broken his heart. Even if losing Eva over something stupid, or what he believed was stupid, he knew he shouldn’t give up on the one thing he loved besides taking a woman out on a date. Quidditch meant the world to Elijah, his sister knew that and even his mother supported it. Their mother didn’t want him to spend the rest of his dumb adult life in some muggle garage and drinking beer like their pops. Sure, Elijah would still help his father out but he wasn’t going to give up on his life.
”Do you really think I can make it to the big boy league? Play professionally? I mean if I can you will get a free sit at all the games.” he told his sister with a tiny frown and chuckled a bit as he playfully bumped her shoulder.
”What if I promise it won’t be your bed this time?” he asked, teasing back.
