With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.

Elliot was seated with his friends near the black lake that evening after classes and the group were talking about what was happening in the wizarding world in general. The topic was soo interesting and debatable that they had failed to notice that it was almost dinner time until a passing prefect pointed it out to them. Cursing out loud that they might've missed dinner, the boys hurried back to the castle Elliot being the last one to get up. He checked around if they might've left something behind. [break][break]
As he ran his way back into the castle, what Elliot had not been expecting was to run into someone. When he says run into, he literally meant that. Elliot had bumped straight into someone causing both of them to loose their footing and get knocked down like bowling pins. While he tried to gain his senses back, he quickly apologized to the other person, "sorry". Muttering to himself about being left behind by his friends, he quickly stood up and saw that it was not a student he ran into, but a professor from the looks of it. Cursing mentally at his bad luck he quickly offered them a hand and with a sheepish smile he said "I'm sorry professor, didn't see you coming. Are you okay?" [break][break]
Gwyenth had a long day - from teaching classes and dealing with her students who were having troubles with her lessons. She wasn’t one to have them go on and do their own work, if they needed help, she was there to do so. This was her job, to teach her kids and if they had a hard time understanding something, she’d help get them on the correct road. Perhaps it was the mother in her, she wanted to guide them all on the right path before they mess up their lives over wizarding matters that shouldn’t be a major ordeal. She didn’t want them to worry about the laws even though she was worrying about the issues herself.
It was around dinner time when the professor walked down the many staircases, smiling at the oncoming students. They must be starving like the woman herself and she wanted to have a quick talk with her teenage daughter before the child got to talking to her friends. Though when she rounded the corner to head for the Great Hall, knocked down at force of another body colliding right into her. The woman had lost her footing, falling to the hard stone floor and she let out a small yell as she tried to catch herself with her wrist. Welp, might need the hospital wing instead of dinner.
When she heard the voice apologize, she looked up at her student and she gritted her teeth. No, she wasn't angry. He apologized. She used his outstretched hand to get herself off the floor and let out a huff. ”Where’s the fire Mr. Barbary?” she asked, trying not to sound angry. ”I’ll be okay. Probably bruised a wrist.”
Out of all the professor's it had to be professor Mason, curse his luck. The witch was a bit strict and he was in her classes which would make their encounters at class a bit more tricky. As the professor took his hand and was back on her feet, Elliot found himself feeling a bit relieved. At least the fall did not impact her in a bad way or may be it did. He felt sorry for her that she had to bump into him, wonder what she would think of him from now on. And Godric he hoped that she was not going to give him a detention. When she asked him where the fire was, with a sheepish smile he said "ummm.....in my tummy professor Mason". He knew he was dead meat when he bumped into a professor, but better turn on his cute charms and escape from the detention or whatever punishment he was going to get.[break][break]
When Professor Mason mentioned that she might've bruised her wrist, Elliot's face instantly fell. In his haste to reach the dining hall fast, he had caused pain to the older witch, which made him feel a bit more bad. "I am really sorry professor, can I accompany you to the matron? And get it looked at?" [break][break]GWYNETH MASON
Gwyneth had sensed that the boy was terrified, but who wouldn’t? They just ran down a professor and injured them unintentionally. When he had told her that the fire was indeed in his stomach, she couldn’t help but smile at the answer. Of course there’s those students with their quick wit, she was somewhat disappointed that this boy wasn’t a Ravenclaw. Sometimes she questioned if some of the students she has taught over the years were in the correct houses, but she wasn’t going to bring that up to her students that that very moment.
When Gwyneth brought her wrist up to look at it and flexed it a bit, biting down on her lip as it gave her some pain but she believed some ice would do the trick. She didn’t want to go up to the matron after all, they were all hungry. ”It’s quite alright…” she said politely and gave him a nod. ”I’ll just ice it in the Great Hall. I think we both earned some dinner.” she said with a smile. ”Be careful next time.”
Professor Mason smiled, Elliot releases his breath he didn't even know he was holding. He was tensed that she would give him a punishment. But luckily for him, she did not and seemed ok with what he said. Well she was the head of house of wits, and he just unknowingly channeled his inner raven and spoke to her. Whatever the reason may be, he was just glad to not get on the angry side of his professor. [break][break]
While Elliot knew that it was his fault his professor got hurt, his professor's understanding words made him more guilty than he already felt. When she brushed off his offer of accompanying her to matron, he looked down wondering how to help his professor. When the latter mentioned that they deserve a dinner, his stomach rumbled out loud causing him to give a sheepish smile. Rubbing the back of his head, Elliot looked at the professor and mumbled a sorry. As Elliot decided to start walking, he looked at the professor and asked "say professor, do you think you will be able to have food with your bruised wrist? "He could not help but be worried about the professor who got hurt because him. A few moments ago all he cared about was not getting a detention, but once that cleared off, Elliot began to think about the professor. [break][break]GWYNETH MASON
Professor Mason had heard the boys stomach rumble, causing her to smile because it reminded her of the time she had heard her daughter’s stomach do the same thing whenever she’s visiting her mother in her office. There were some evenings where she’d host dinner for just her and her daughter, sometimes a friend or two. Lately she hadn’t been able to host because of what happened to Casey Stevens’ father and she had told her daughter to be there for her friend instead of worrying about spending time with her dear old ma.
The Professor had started walking toward the Great Hall, hearing the faint chatter of the students inside before she heard Elliot ask about her wrist. The woman stopped, looking at him with a tiny smile. ”Well, I’m right handed. The one injured is my left, it won’t be a big problem.” she said as she moved to rub her sore wrist for a moment. ”I promise I’ll get it checked out after dinner.”
