With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
Sienna had been disappointed in this years Quidditch games and the fact that they’re not going to bring the cup home this year. The female was even more disappointed because her dear cousins were going to be graduating this year and even though she won’t admit it out loud, the house was losing its best players. Yes, Sienna was the cousin of Elijah and Ryker Young - but she’d never broadcast it because she had always looked down on them. Their father was a Muggle and even though Sienna’s parents worked in the Muggle Government, she disliked how the Muggle World worked. Elijah would often talk about a motorcycle or whatever and Sienna would look at the pile of trash when she’d visit because her mother needed something from her aunt.
It was early when Sienna had walked down to the Great Hall, head held high and her bag on her shoulder. The female was hungry and she needed to address some concerns to her cousins because she needed to see what they planned on doing after leaving this school.
There was a smirk on her face when she saw one half of the twin pair and decided to approach her. She had taken a seat, not caring if it was reserved for someone. ”My mother is very disappointed in the results of the Quidditch game. I do believe you and your, twin should find a better career path after graduating. That’s if Elijah graduates.” she said, giving another guy at their table a dirty look.
”How’s Melissa?” she asked, talking about the redhead that Ryker hangs out with often.
At some point there was a moment of peace required in the busy life of Ryker Young. The student with the high grades, best skills and bright future ahead of herself just required a moment of peace. Ever since the loss to the snake pit she wondered what was next for her. She didn't care much about winning the cup anymore as it was simply not something she needed for her own future. Ryker wasn't going to play quidditch and neither did she care for joining the ministry and it's ridiculous laws anytime soon either.
Even when she had auror potential.
Ryker turned her attention to her annoying brat of a cousin who plopped down in Elijah's seat and the brunette arched her brow ever so slightly at it. What did the little minx want this time around? "Good morning to you too." she said and rolled her eyes. For a girl stating she is above humanity and the rest of the world she was lacking manners. Ryker sipped from her juice and turned her head slowly as Sienna spoke to her. "Well I am sure your mother will get over it." she responded calmly. Ryker could care less than two shits about Sienna's mother and Sienna knew that.
"Who said I was ever interested in a future in Quidditch in the first place?" she asked her cousin with a scoff. "Elijah will graduate, the question is more will you pass your owls miss everyone wants to kill me?" Elijah had better grades than people thought and Ryker wasn't going to graduate without her brother. "Melissa? your imaginary friend?" Ryker knew she meant Morgan but it was always fun to tease Sienna, even when it would give her an owl of a whining aunt telling her to be nicer. "Morgan's fine." Ryker took a bite from her food as she set her cup down, her appetite was a bit lost on her though.
"How's your life? I heard you got engaged to what's his name."
There was a smirk on Sienna’s face as she moved a hand to help herself to some juice, not caring that this might be Elijah’s spot. The moron was probably busy measuring his manhood in the boys bathroom or something disgusting. The female had frowned upon the twins, and their lives - the way they lived and how the whole school wished they were them. Honestly, Sienna had no idea what their friends saw in them because there was no way in hell that they’d keep this friends after they graduate. It was a wonder how Elijah was going to graduate when he can’t seem to keep it in his pants, or well, rumor had it that he had a girlfriend. Poor girl.
”Oh, please. You know your brother only thinks with...his lack of brain. Heard his grades were slipping…” she commented. Maybe she heard wrong, but she wanted to confirm stuff. ”My OWL’s aren’t going to be a problem. Mara though, poor girl just had to ruin her own future by going camping with that scum of a boy, huh? Tell me, how is dear old Mara? She ain’t dead yet?”
The girl knew Mara was a touchy subject for the twins, having commented on it before and got a death glare from Elijah himself.
”And I heard you’re engaged with…Morgan. What a shame. Didn’t think you’d sink that low. Probably going to jump right into bed with the first person she sees once you’re out of this hellhole.”
Ryker was quite the temperamental one. Though she was often trying to keep herself calm and make sure she won't get in trouble. This was quite hard when there were certain human beings trying to pull the blood from her fingernails on purpose. Sienna was a girl who her mother said was raised like the spoiled brat she has become. Ryker didn't know if she believed it at first but the attitude she gave everyone around her, even her family, was enough to know her mother was right. Ryker hated to think of how the guy she is engaged with had to put up with this girl.
"His grades are fine." she scoffed. Ryker didn't like where this was going and Sienna knew damn well she'd choke the life out of her. Her eyes were on her food as Sienna kept talking, making Ryker wonder why she would even sit here and listen in the first place. Bullies came in all shapes and sizes and every family had it's family bitch and asshole but Ryker didn't think the one in her family was a fifteen year old brat the size of a muppet doll. The one thing they had in common was that there was definitely something up their asses.
"Mhmm." was the only response. Ryker slowly put down the fork and wiped her mouth gently with a tissue before reaching for the girl's throat. Her well manicured nails digging into her skin. "Now you listen carefully, one screech out of you about my brother or sister like that and the one funeral we are having is yours, you got that?" she hissed at her cousin, squeezing her throat gently to know damn well there were no boundaries any longer between these two. There was no hex worthy of this bitch.
Ryker released her cousin's throat, basically shoving her and turned back to her breakfast. "At least my fiancee knows what love is. Yours will have to wonder for the rest of his life if this choice he made was worth it while his right hand is doing what you're supposed to do. Or is he left handed?"
Sienna expected better out of her dear cousin, knowing the soon to be graduated Gryffindor woman wouldn’t want her reputation pissed on because of her temper. She wasn’t expecting for Ryker to lash out in an open public place, she didn’t think she’d get attacked by her cousin. Her eyes went wide as soon as she felt her cousins hand around her neck, causing her to almost shout out for help but instead she gasped at the pain of her nails digging into her skin when she squeezed. Her hand found Ryker’s as to try to pry her off of her but...the older girl was stronger. God, Ryker was going to regret this. Sienna was going to make sure her cousin would get screwed.
Where was Elijah when Sienna needed him to make sure his twin sister didn’t commit murder in the Great Hall? Ooh, she was going to make sure Morgan’s life would be a living hell come next year and Ryker wasn’t going to be able to protect her girlfriend.
Once she was released, she coughed and stumbled back off her seat when Ryker shoved her back. After a few minutes of coughing, she stood up and straightened out her robes, her hand going to her neck and felt some wetness. Oh, she made her bleed.
”If you lay your hand on me one more time, I will make sure Morgan’s life will be hell come next year.” she said and glared at her cousin for a second, and then at a cup of juice.
There was a tiny smirk on her face when she took a seat and went to grab the juice cup, accidentally tilting it too far to the side, enough for some of the juice to spill on her cousins robes. ”Opps. Sorry… and went to take a sip of the orange juice.
With his brow furrowed, lines on his forehead deepening in the process, Jack made his way into the Great Hall to try and find something to fill his belly. It was only early, but Jack had been up marking assignments since the crack of dawn, and he had yet to have a single bite of anything to eat since dinner the night before. He was starving, and the loud grumble that sounded from stomach as he stepped towards the staff table proved that.
Whilst Jack's eyes were set on the great bowl of porridge that sat in the middle of the table, the sound of students bickering had his eyes flickering in that direction instead. What on... Merlin's beard. "RYKER YOUNG, you let go of her this instant," he said, voice loud and commanding as he strode straight towards where Ryker and Sienna were situated. Fortunately, Ryker's grip around Sienna's neck had dropped before he reached his destination, but their fighting hadn't ceased. Quite the opposite, if Sienna's inflammatory words of 'if you lay your hand on me one more time, I will make sure Morgan’s life will be hell come next year' had anything to say about it, quickly followed by her actions of pouring juice onto Ryker.
As Jack reached the two, he looked at them both sharply. "That will be 30 points from Gryffindor from both of you, and detention for two weeks, Ryker," he said, his head shaking. Addressing Ryker, Jack's voice was stern as he spoke, "Ryker, you are technically an adult. You cannot resort to violence, no matter whether you're being provoked or not. That's assault. You do that outside of this castle, and I guarantee you that you will get charges pressed against you." Then turning to Sienna, he pinned her with an expression that was thoroughly unimpressed, the same expression he had awarded Ryker with moments beforehand. "You are a prefect, Sienna, and do not think for one moment that I won't hesitate in stripping you of that title if I hear you going around, threatening people and provoking them by 'accidentally' spilling liquids on them." Taking a step backwards, this time looking at the both of them, Jack said, "Now, I suggest the two of you go your separate ways and quickly before I change my mind and deduct further points. I don't want to see this type of behaviour from either of you again."
6'0". IRISH. BIG HEART. LOYAL. BRAVE. WORKAHOLIC. BISEXUAL. SINGLE. distinguishing features: a big scar runs across jack's left cheek credit for award goes to ollie! <3
Ryker knew she shouldn't have let her anger get the best of her, her temper betraying her once more. She was just so sick, so done with this girl and her belittling personality towards the few people that would actually have her back in life. Soon no one would be at Sienna's side anymore and that's when she would regret everything she went through, she would regret every single decision she's made because how could you enjoy your life when no one was there to love you beside your own mommy?
Soon enough professor O'Connor interfered and Ryker didn't blame him. She was not going to fight his judgment and knew exactly what kind of mistake she had made. "My apologies professor. I will report for detention after classes." she told him as she got up, her clothes gross from the juice her cousin spilled on her. Ryker though, weirdly calm took all the words the professor had to say until he told her she could go. "Excuse me." she said as she tried to pass him on her way to the Gryffindor tower. She needed to cool the fuck off, hit something that wasn't a person and get herself clean clothes.
The moment they were approached by Professor O’Connor, she knew she was in major shit for the stuff she had pulled moments before. The female looked like a deer in the headlights, not wanting to lose her prefect badge over a little argument and spilling her orange juice on the girl beside her. It wasn’t just a girl, it was her perfect cousin whom she was secretly jealous of. But was Sienna going to argue that? No. She was not going to fight with the professor on anything because honestly, it wasn’t worth it and if her parents heard about this mishap and abuse of power, she would get in trouble with them. That’s the last thing she needed.
So, the moment she heard the professor, she had placed the cup down on the table and grabbed a napkin to wipe her hand clean. Great, maybe that was a mistake to spilling it because orange juice was sticky. When Ryker excused herself after the lecture, Sienna stood up and adjusted her robes for a moment as she looked at the professor.
”I apologize, Professor. I shouldn’t have threatened another student. It won’t happen again, I promise.” she said and grabbed a slice of toast off her plate, along with the napkin. ”I’ll go take care of my neck.” she said and moved passed him.
