With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
Negative Traits: impulsive, rash, childish, wild, overbearing, vain
Quirks and Habits:
Gabriel is unable to multitask while he speaks, often completely abandoning what he is doing to chat with someone
He has a scar from the full moon that he was infected, it runs from his shoulder, across his collarbones and down to his sternum. He often taps or scratches at it unconsciously, it's become a nervous habit.
He doesn't sit down on things, he sprawls on them, taking up more space than is necessary.
He has quite a habit of just 'finding' himself in trouble, but really it's just his lack of foresight and benign attitude.
Dislikes: the minister for magic, his grandparents, pigeons, muggle sitcoms
Boggart: Himself as a werewolf tearing into the body of his younger brother.
Mirror of Erised: He'd see himself dressed as a hitwizard. He has no werewolf scars and both his parents stand beside him.
Patronus: beagle
history
2006: Gabriel's grandmother teaches him Welsh on the porch. This is the closest thing to bonding they've ever done, as she is frequently nasty to both him and his mother. She can't help but be snide the entire time, but his mother is pleased.
2010: Gabriel receives his invitation to Hogwarts, and is sorted into Gryffindor. He sends an enthused letter home which is replied to a week later, his mother claiming that his grandparents kicked them out of the house, with no mention about his house sorting. Gabriel receives his first personal letter from his father that year too, enclosed with some money that Gabriel forwards to his mother. He meets his father for the first time in muggle London that year too, a weird and uncomfortable experience.
2012: Gabriel meets the 'other' family, the one that his father chose over supporting Jennifer. He is wary and distrustful at first, but connects with his half-brother and is touched by his step-mother's kindness. He is surprised how well he gets along with them compared to his father, who he just feels awkward around.
2016: He finally graduates school, an arduous task. He's quickly accepted into the auror program, where he requests to become a hitwizard trainee. He is told to complete a year of auror schooling before he'll be considered for the position. Gabriel is ecstatic.
2017: Gabriel is accepted as a hitwizard trainee and he absolutely loves it. He and his mentor are called in to help the werewolf capture unit...things go badly and he is almost fatally wounded. What results afterwards is enough to wish that the werewolf had finished the job before dying its own gory death to the hands of Gabriel's mentor.
Adrian ran his hand along the keys of the piano, pressing down on them softly as he refreshed himself with the weight that he’d need to play a piece. His tutor’s voice was ringing in his head as he played a simple E Major scale, and he sat up accordingly. It was a public piano, therefore it needed a little tuning and some love and care, but otherwise was quite fine. He could see the passengers racing from place to place and had found himself overwhelmed with all the rushing. So there he was, with all the time in the world, sitting down to play the piano. He was on the other side of the river from Diagon Alley but he wouldn’t be meeting his cousins for lunch until later that day.
He moved on from major scales to arpeggios, his fingers moving quickly from key to key as he did so. He ignored the curious looks, knowing that they were to be expected. He fiddled around a little longer, before finally deciding on a song, Chopin’s Minute Waltz. He launched into it, and although there was no smile on his face, there was a brightness to his eyes that betrayed how much he enjoyed playing the little piece. Playing Chopin was never an easy venture but he enjoyed how his fingers played across the piano keys.
