With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!

To be honest, there were very few things she shared with people-- her family history, her heart, her friendship, and any sort of talent she harbored. One particular talent was never one she shared... Hell, she wasnt sure she'd ever even told Greyson about it. Sneakingboff the the Room of requirement, the girl found some sheet music, putting it on the piano as she began to play.
"You're broken down and tired of living life on a merry go round-- and you can't find the fighter, but I see it in you so we gonna walk it out and move mountains... We gonna walk it out and move mountains, " She sang out as she skillfully played the keys. Piano was one of the few things her mother insisted on feeling it was a womanly instrument... As well as the harp and fucking violin. Luckily she was able to get out of too much harp playing.
She was actually attempting to work through things better since her winter break-- She and Felix broke things off (or rather she had purposefully shattered his heart to keep him away from her shit life), She'd seen her father literally kill someone in front of her that she'd always called her uncle... For fuck sakes, was she even actually dealing well? Probably not, but she didn't want to keeping wallowing in pity. She was Rosalia fucking Capone. She would get through whatever the hell she needed to work through. Period.
As she sang, she suddenly heard something drop causing her to hit the wrong keys as she felt like a kid who just got caught snogging by a professor (frankly, she would've handled something like that far more gracefully).

In all honesty, Greyson wasn't sure what he was doing here, dawdling along the corridor and towards the Room of Requirement. He just needed a place to crash for a bit, catch some much needed 'zzzzz's' outside of Evan's cold shouldering and Regi's constant bitching about the 'smoke smell.' It was like he was trapped in a dorm room with the two bitchiest Gryffindors known to man, and he couldn't take it any longer - which was saying a lot, because he'd grown up sharing a house with Gabe who was bitchy enough on his own.
Pushing into the Room of Requirement, Greyson blinked at the sound of a voice singing, accompanied by a piano because what the fuck was this girly arse song? It was some... message about fighting, maybe? But definitely not the cool kind. Walking into the room further, his eyebrows shot up and he obviously didn't give a crap about 'interrupting' because he said, voice loud and blunt, "Since when do you play the piano, Rosa? Talk about hidden talents. Next thing I know, you'll be doing the fucking... tango on your hands or some crap."

it was, admittedly, more embarrassing given the fact it had to be him that walked in on her. She always played the role of the hard ass with a rebellious streak despite the official prefect title and elegant front. She was one to get in a tussle, punch a bit, and perform some very sensual act in very risky places... But she wasn't a true powder puff that sat on the pedestal her parents preferred her on.
But she liked this one thing. She just didn't like admitting it. She couldn't give her parents the satisfaction of introducing her to a "womanly" or "feminine" hobby as they would so eloquently put it. And after years, she just became use to it being some sort of dirty little secret that she liked to do anything that wasn't self-destructive.
She could've freaked out more but instead she just closed over the damn keys, " Yeah, " She remarked, almost a hint... Even if just a grain of salt that was shame was hidden in her naturally defensive tone, " Since I was little, I guess. My mother and father insisted on it among... Other humiliating instruments" None of which she obviously was going to repeat so promptly after already having been caught up. Despite not enjoying the timing of it, Rosa still promptly smirked a bit as she beckoned him over with her index finger in the usual assumption she'd sit on his lap while they talked.
The way Rosa said the simple word 'yeah' felt off to him. It wasn't like her, it was almost as though she was embarrassed about playing the piano which made no sense because it was an instrument. There were way worse things out there to be embarrassed about like the way some of these kids around Hogwarts so shamelessly cried when things didn't go their way, like crying would help the situation. "Humiliating instruments, hey? Like what? Most embarrassing one I can think of is that damn triangle 'cause all you do is hit a damn piece of metal against a triangle-shaped piece of metal. Not much talent in doing that, is there?"
From where he stood in the door frame, Greyson watched with arched brows as Rosa gestured at him to come and join her. If anyone else would have done that, they would have received a tirade about how he wasn't a dog so don't beckon him but... Rosa was special. She always had been, and if he was to give his life up for anybody in the damn school (after Gabe, of course), then it would be for her. Sauntering over, Greyson took a seat next to her on the bench before circling his arms around her waist, drawing her onto his lap. It was a position they'd grown pretty accustomed to over the years. "So, you gonna finally let the bloody cat out of the bag and tell me what happened over Christmas?"
"Please tell me this is your way of admitting you play the triangle, " She smirked, a small laugh escaping as he pulled her over onto his lap. She admittedly adored him above all else. To be honest, he mother was a purist bitch and her father was a cold mob leader, so while there wasn't much competition it didn't belittle that he was everything to her. While she had managed to fall for a guy and drive him away, Grey was too smart and too stubborn to accept the same clean cut from her.
She knew that... so what was the point in trying to run him off to keep him safe?
"Harp, " She said bluntly, " The violin isn't what I would call embarrassing, but a harp? That's just... Painfully pretentious, " She rolled her eyes, it was no surprise her mother initiated such lessons. She moved to straddle his lap, hoping to just skip to fun part that got her out of much talking when he brought up... Winter break. Her eyes went distant a moment as her smile went... Blank. She knew she would have to stop avoiding, but it didn't necessarily mean she wanted to. She sat silent a few moments before reaching over to her bag, pulling out a flask. Suddenly, sleeping with him was the last thing on her mind as she downed some whiskey.
"Gray. If I tell you this... You have to swear this will never be repeated..." She knew he wouldn't pull some shit like that. Frankly, she never told him not to repeat shit, because why would he? But the fact of the matter was, she literally witnessed a murder... By her father... A fucking Mob boss. It wasn't just a matter of the reprocussions for her but him as well and... Honestly, she needed someone to talk to. "My father. I always knew he... Did things, but I actually.. saw him doing something."
"Is that your way of telling me I'm untalented? Thanks," Greyson said, voice drenched is sarcasm although he chuckled a moment later. He'd been called a lot worse in the past. "I'll do you one better. I'm so untalented at playing instruments that I can't play a single one. Little Greyson spent too much time -" Greyson cut himself off abruptly because that was going down the sob story lane. Rosa didn't want to hear about how he'd spent time on the run with his murderer of a father, and didn't have time to sit and learn the piano... let alone live as a normal bloody child. Sometimes he wondered where he'd be if that had never happened - if things were different. Would he be trying to drink himself to death?
"The harp? Fuck, man. They really were trying to mold you into the perfect, pretty pureblood princess as a kid, weren't they? Next thing I know, you'll be telling me that made you learn how to read when you were two," Greyson said with a derisive snort. In his humble opinion, parents forcing their kids to do pretentious shit like that wasn't setting them up for success or anything - it was setting them up to crash and burn later in life when they learned they weren't always going to be the best at everything.
"You're going to pull out booze and not share? Selfish Rosa," he teased, before reaching over to take the flask anyway. He didn't care that she didn't offer, she wouldn't mind anyway. But as he went to take it from her hands, he noticed that something was off. She didn't look like herself, but like... an empty shell. What the hell had happened over winter break to make her like this? It turned out he was about to find out, and he shut his mouth as Rosa made her confession - that her father did things. "Shit, man. Like what? Did he shank someone, or...?" Maybe that wasn't a tactful way of asking but he wasn't about to beat around the bush - he wanted her to cough up what happened so he could help her deal with it, just like she'd tried to help him deal with his own shit these last few years.

"Oh please, " She smirked as she leaned in close, " Your talents lay in making music in a very different way, " She teased, cradling his chin as she gave him a shot kiss, " The last thing I would call you is untalented, " Though, admittedly she would've probably lost her shit and died a little if she heard he played the triangle. That was... Much worse than playing absolutely nothing at all.
"Right?" She replied back with a small laugh, her arms around his neck as she sat stradled over him, momentarily putting her forehead to his. It felt... So good to actually laugh.
She gladly allowed him to take the drink, giving him a chance at a swig or two (or five) before they actually dove into all the details of winter break.she had considered talking to Felix at one point, but she knew it would likely undo what she had tried to do in the first place-- trying everything she could to drive him away. He had a chance to get out still whereas she knew she likely wouldn't have the same luck as the boss' only kid. Her mother couldn't have any more children after all.
"Essentially, " She kept it brief as she motioned a finger across her her throat to give him the picture, " My father just... Lost it in a way I've never seen before. Right at the dinner table with one of my many 'uncles', " She'd called all the men that were close to her father her uncles. While the man her father killed in front of her wasn't blood, he was closer to her than most of the true blood relatives she had. "I mean, fuck... I've lost my shit and just swung a punch without a second thought-- am I going to be that?"

Rosa's words of making music in a very different way immediately had Greyson letting out a very loud, very abrasive snort because yeah, right. "Salazar, Capone, when did you get so smooth? Been picking up bad lines from Bianchi to try and get in my frilly little knickers?" he teased, winding back strands of hair behind her ears before leaning in to return her short kiss. Then he leaned back, shrugging at her assessment of whether or not he was talented. "Ask Graham -" His uncle, "- he'll tell you my talents include skivving off class and pissing people off. He's such a dick, Rosa, I swear to Merlin. He's cut me off, did I tell you? Because he thinks I'm blowing all my galleons on booze and cigarettes. I mean, yeah, I am but shit, if he thinks I'm not smart enough to get them some other way... then he's as thick as one of his beloved History of Magic textbooks."
Essentially. That one word, combined with the 'slitting throat' motion Rosa's delicate little finger made, had Greyson's stomach sinking. He may have made light of the situation before, but Rosa didn't deserve watching a murder play out in front of her. "That shit messes you up hardcore," he muttered bitterly, shaking his head. He would know - it was so many years later, and yet he still saw what his dad had done to Cassidy's when he closed his eyes some nights. Sometimes the memory was so vivid that it sent Greyson retching out of the dorm window, unable to keep the contents of his stomach down.
Letting out a hiss of breath as Rosa confessed her worries, Greyson knew immediately that he had to alleviate them. Hands flying up to cup either side of Rosa's face, he steered her to look at him, his eyes narrowing at her intensely because he needed her to believe what he was about to say. "You're not going to become that. Don't be stupid, Rosa. You're not - that's not you. You're not some psychopath who kills people in the middle of a family bloody dinner."

She ignored the mention of Felix blatantly as she ran her fingers through her soft hair. She still didn't like talking about her ex, instead choosing to redirect the conversation anytime he was brought up. It was bad enough she still had a weakness for Felix she was trying to smother, she didn't need people knowing about it too, " If I want in your frilly knickers, I don't think I would need to use lines to do it, " She gave a half smirk. She had been with him so many times, she lost count after all. "Well, you know if you need them I've got you. At least until my parents inevitably cut me off. I mean, my father is still trying to buy me off, so I'm certain the well won't run dry any time soon, " She rolled her eyes a bit."Honestly, at this point i'd trade you, " She remarked, "Or we could just pawn them off all together."
"Yeah, " She replied back simply, unsure of what else she could've even said. What else was there to say? She could've broken something or even screamed, but what the hell would that have even done? She wouldn't have saw herself as any less broken losing her shit. She didn't know what she was going to do, honestly. She just wanted to erase it, but even if she wiped the memories or ran away, she knew her family. They wouldn't disappear. If anything, they'd use it to their advantage. She needed to remember, and she needed to feel that stomach turning disgust that made her literally ill.
She felt his hands cup at either side of her face, catching her attention in a frozen moment as he insisted against her fears. How the fuck did he know? He couldn't gauge what was in her head. What if she was? There were so many what if's
"No, you could just shove your hand right down and I'd be happy to go. No lines needed," Greyson agreed amicably, before he ducked his head, nosing at her neck before planting several open-mouthed kisses alongside it. There were several people in Hogwarts (cough: Flora Selwyn) who believed that Greyson would sleep with anyone who was willing, but that simply wasn't true. He did have standards - mostly that the person wasn't a squealy little runt of a thing who lacked backbone a.k.a... most Hufflepuffs - and Rosa met his set of standards, in fact, she went above and beyond. "Pawning them off together sounds like a great idea. Maybe we can lure them into the Forest sometime so the bastards can meet an acromantula face to face." It was twisted and he didn't actually want his uncle to die but it would be a hell of a sight to see.
The fear that played out on Rosa's face, as plain as day, made Greyson's stomach lurch because he didn't want her to feel like that. Not ever, and if there was some way to take them from her... to transfer her fears into him instead, then he'd do it in a bloody heartbeat because she meant the world to him. She was his best friend, somebody who had stuck by him through all the rough patches across the years - and there were a lot of them - and never once kicked him to the curb. "You're making me feel like a dumb arse 'puff here, Capone. Bloody say something, don't just leave me hanging."

She smirked a bit, a bit of smuggness seeping through. She did love having someone that was always attracted to her-- even when she was a total bitch. She sighed, a small hum escaped feeling the affectionate kiss. She laughed a bit as he joked with her. She wished life was as simple as all that-- just send away all the bullshit that makes your life a fucking headache. She would've had their entire empire in the palm of her hand, spending her days in the sun enjoying him or whoever else she damn well chose. She loved very few people, but she loved him. She would've loved to just say fuck their lives and live in a blissful freedom...
But that wasn't how life we're, was it?
She laughed at the idea, " Could you imagine my mother in that situation?" She rolled her eyes practically to the back of her head, " That poor spider. He'd probably off himself just to get out of all of that nagging." She snickered a bit before a frown hit, " Dont ever call yourself a puff, " She retorted, her breath hitching as he grasped both sides of her cheeks. Her heart raced as she sat in silence a moment. She could see it pained him seeing her in pain-- the same damn feelings that always fucking hit her when she saw him dealing with his own pain. Her chest rose and fell as she looked in his eyes, " You mean everything to me. You know that, right?" She murmured.
Rosa's description of what her parents would do if they ever had to encounter acromantula was enough to have Greyson shaking his head. "That's bloody tragic," he said, but he huffed out a laugh all the same. That, that right there, was the reason he never planned on marrying anyone - he couldn't deal with the nagging shit, or being tied to one person for the rest of his life. "How long do you think he'd last before he pulled out the good ol' avada kedavra?"
Rosa's gaze, as it met his own, was just as intense and unwavering. If she was anybody else, he would have dropped his hands and looked away by now but she wasn't anybody else. She was Rosa. His Rosa. One of the only pure fucking people he had in this world, one that would never stab him in the back or abandon him. "You mean everything to me too," he muttered, eyes falling closed as he rested his forehead against hers and just let him be in the moment.
The moment lasted for a decent moment until he drew back, a slight smile on his lips. "I think we need to stop insulting 'puffs though before we insult Jun and his delicate feelings. I don't know 'bout you, but I have like... barely any friends and the dude's decent."
Post by ROSALIA CAPONE on Jan 1, 2020 18:05:19 GMT
She chuckled at the thought of it,it I'd give that spider maybe two minutes, " She retorted with a laughed, " If he has an iron will, " She smirked. She never knew what she wanted. She imagined a family at times, but then there were times that she looked at her own parents and her family and wondered-- was it even worth it to want something like that? She would've been just as happy without it-- maybe following those rumors that were spreading about her, Junaid, and Grey. Wouldn't that make her parents mad.. Haha. The thought of her mother's face seeing her running off in some polyamorous relationship was... Kind of hilarious.
It sent a shiver down her spine hearing those words. She loved him to death-- it wasn't like either of them hid it. But neither of them ever talked about the things they loved. The two of them were generally too focused on getting angry about all the things they hated. She smiled, moving in as her lips crashed to his with his shirt twisted in her fingers.
"He's not a 'puff either. He's more like... A cinnamon roll. Soft and sweet. A taste I wont get a chance to enjoy, but you'll have to tell me how that goes, " She quirked her brow. She was many things-- stupid wasn't one of them. He probably cared about Grey just as much as she did. And for once she didn't scoff at the idea of it. Honestly, it didn't even irritate her that he hung around. "You heard the rumor yet?" She asked, rolling her eyes.
"A... cinnamon roll," Greyson repeated incredulously because where did she come up with these things and who described someone like that? Merlin. "I won't get to taste him either which is fine by me." He didn't share what he knew about Jun's past with Rosa - it wasn't his to share - and he wasn't about to out the guy. It would ruin Jun, destroy him, and he didn't want to betray his trust even if he knew that Rosa would never blab or tell Jun something Greyson had told her in confidence. "He went to the dance with that... Weasley chick, so he's probably into her anyway."
Had he heard... what rumour? "The one about Rosaline being a great old slag?" That was one that had gone around after that party the girl had hosted, but really... with the way she draped herself over everyone, that rumour had only been a matter of time. "You wanna tell me on the way to the great hall, man? I'm starving."
Post by ROSALIA CAPONE on Jan 6, 2020 19:58:17 GMT
She gave him a deadpan look at first, but let it. She'd had a discussion with Jun, but it seemed the both of them were remaining right lipped. She knew if Jun told her, there was no way in hell he hadn't talked to Grey, " Yes. Im sure Weasley was his first year choice, " She quirky a brow. She could've seen him brushing off the subject, but trying to convince her against what she already knew? She didn't push the subject, because ehh, if he hooked up with him it was what it was.
"Hardly, " She honestly could've cared less about gossiping about her. The girl did her thing-- including kissing the guy she'd been seeing. But why should Viola have cared anyways? Felix had been her problem that night. A problem that was honestly no longer a problem anymore. "You, Jun, and I are in a love triangle, " She laughed a bit. Maybe there was some truth to whatever was hiding under the surface, but as a rumor she found it amusing. Two rumors involving her and Grey together in one year? People were dreadfully bored, " My only worry is... Jun, honestly." Fuck, was she getting soft, or what? "I've considered finding who said it and doing... Anything about it, but it's best to let their bottom fizzle out and die rather than throwing fuel on a fire."
She walked along side her best friend to the Grand Hall, hooking her arm around his, "I'd maybe let him know before he gets bombarded with it, " She remarked.
