With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
One might ask why Ezra, a Gryfinndor was down near the Slytherin basement, and he wouldn’t give a straight answer because he was wearing Slytherin robes. They did this often, trading places and acting like each other. But lately it was hard because they were two entirely different people who had different interests. Edmund liked science, Ezra liked girls and hanging around them. Ezra hated his brother’s nerdiness at times, and would judge him for it entirely. He would never forgive his brother for destroying his stuffed animal all those years ago. The asshole. Maybe he should get his revenge.
Just maybe he’ll get a girl to fall in love with Edmund and tell his brother that he had a date with some random girl. It wasn’t a bad idea, right? There were plenty of girls around the school that would love Edmund for his brains.
Ezra had peeked around the corner as a few students had excited from the Slytherin common room area, and he had moved straight toward like a man on a mission.
But that was until he had bumped into some girl, and it almost knocked him off his feet. ”Sorry!” he had called as he grabbed onto her to make sure she didn’t fall down.

It was very important that Katrin go to the owlery, or at least that's what anyone would assume by the way she strode through the Slytherin common room with poise and purpose. In reality, she was only sending off a letter to her father, but she wouldn't be caught dead ever slouching as she walked to any place. The small high heels she wore helped, plus making her an inch or so taller and making satisfying clicking noises on the stone floor.
She left the common room right behind a group of older students, giving a disdainful look to the back of their heads as they walked slower than she would have liked. With a small huff, she slid next to the wall to get around them, walking even faster to leave them behind.
What she hadn't expected--or hadn't seen, too focused on her own route--was the boy coming down the hallway in the other direction, and she collided with him shoulder-to-shoulder, making her stumble, her ankle twisting, and she was sure she was going to tumble to the floor unceremoniously until she felt a pair of warm arms grabbing onto her.
"Edmund?" she squeaked, far higher than she had intended her voice to come out, but she was feeling a little bit lightheaded all of a sudden. She got her feet back under herself, putting her hand on his shoulder to steady herself. "I didn't mean--I was just walking fast."

The moment he boy had made sure the girl was steady on her feet, his hands hadn’t moved from her arms because this was when the plan came in. If she told him to let her go, he would because he wasn’t one of those douchebags that didn’t respect what women wanted. He respected every living female in this school and he was sure he would get a girlfriend eventually. I mean, he was a catch, right? Ezra would like to think so. He was a guy who would treat the girl right, making sure she was happy and warm. Give her his hoodies.
Though he didn’t plan on bumping into Katrin Tyrell for this mission, he was glad he did because he had seen her and his brother from a distance. Maybe he can try to set them up, let them give in on their feelings. Maybe it’ll help make his brother become more human. Yes, good plan.
”Miss Tyrell. Don’t apologize. I wasn’t paying attention to where I was going. This is my fault, I’m sorry. Are you okay?” he asked softly, his hands still not leaving her arms.

Normally, Katrin wasn't really a fan of being touched much. She liked everything in its proper place, including all of herself: her clothes, her hair, her backpack. It felt weird when people put their hands on her, like they were too close for comfort. Like they were disturbing everything she put very careful effort into. But something about being touched by Edmund felt extra weird, and she didn't know if it was good or bad. All she could tell was that it wasn't really what she had expected, and it was making her heart beat far too fast.
"Yes, I'm fine, I just didn't see you coming either," she said, adjusting her feet back under her. Her ankle was hurting a little bit, but she wasn't going to admit that she could be so clumsy as to trip over her own shoe. She practiced walking in heels, she couldn't trip over them! She reached up to pat down her hair, even though it hadn't been disturbed much--she felt like she needed to do something with her hands. Edmund's hands were still warm on her arms, reminding her of how warm his sweater had been when he had let her borrow it in the library, and she didn't tell him to remove them.
Ezra hadn’t noticed that he still had his hands on Katrin Tyrell, and if he did, he wouldn’t back off right away. He decided to let this play out, be the boy Katrin thought he was and get his brother a date. Edmund had done so much for him and this was going to be his payment. Besides, Ezra believed that Katrin was a catch and he knew this was going to go well. Unless his idiot brother decides to ruin it by appearing from behind Katrin. Thankfully it seemed like he was in the clear because no one had passed them.
”You didn’t get hurt, did you?’ he asked with slight concern, looking behind her at the Slytherin Dungeon. ”I can take you to the hospital wing if you’d like?”

If she didn't try to walk anywhere, Katrin thought, then she wouldn't run the risk of limping and letting Edmund know that she had hurt herself on her own shoe. It wasn't that bad anyway, she told herself; she was still standing, wasn't she, without even wincing? It could be far worse. "No, I don't think that's necessary. It was a small stumble. I'm not really hurt. The hospital wing should focus on people who actually need it." On idiots who fell off their brooms in flying class, or something. Not that Katrin would ever know about that sort of thing.
Gingerly, she shifted her weight back and forth between her feet, testing out her ankle. It seemed like it would probably be okay, but she wouldn't really know until she tried to walk. But she didn't want to be hurt in front of Edmund. So she remained rooted to the spot, trying to figure out if the reason she felt so dizzy was because of the slight pain in her ankle--or for other reasons that she did not want to consider. "I was just going to go to the owlery. I have a letter to send," she said, trying to gather her wits and go back to what she had intended to be doing.
Ezra feared that he had injured the girl in front of him, causing to feel a little guilty about this whole ordeal. All he wanted was to go into the Dungeon and do something but now he was concerned that he had hurt Edmund’s bae. Usually he’d feel the guilt if a prank had caused major injury that caused a student to go to the hospital wing. He feared he had blown this plan he had, but it didn’t matter. All that mattered to him was Katrin Tyrell. Ezra had let her go to watch her shift her weight, a frown appearing on his face.
”I won’t be a problem.” he said softly, then looked down at her shoes and at her. ”Would you like some company? It’s the least I can do for almost knocking you over.” he offered.

It was very nice, Katrin thought, to have at least one person in her year who knew how to act civilized. There were so many ridiculous kids in the bunch. One day they were sobbing about flowers, another day they were flirting with the N.E.W.T. students--it was humiliating to be associated with them. But Edmund wasn't like that. That was, she thought, the real reason why she liked spending time with him. He could speak in real, intelligent sentences without any sort of yelling. That couldn't be said for everyone, either. She hoped they would all grow up at some point--but knowing some of the older students, she wasn't sure that would happen.
"I would take company, sure," she said, cracking the smallest of smiles as she adjusted her hair one more time--even if she had just been patting at it not even a minute before. "I just need to go send the letter, then I'll be right back down to the common room." She wasn't going to drag Edmund around after her all day--that would certainly be annoying of her, and Katrin only wanted to annoy people who deserved it. Finally letting go of the blond's arms, she stood up straight, pulling herself up to his height. "Shall we walk?"
Ezra would love to believe that he was a gentleman, a gentleman who would open doors for a lady or pull out a chair for her. He always wondered why girls didn’t take him seriously - it hurt him a bit but he always managed to put a smile on and ignore the broken heart he was suffering. If only this sixth year Slytherin knew how to not be a bitch to people, to see that he was just trying to be a gentleman with manners. But what is this poor dumb boy thinking? No one would fall for him because of what he did in his spare time. Pulling pranks on people. Not many saw the humor in it, and it disappointed him in a way.
Ezra smiled a bit more when she released his arms and he quickly spun around, backing up next to her to offer her his arm. A gentleman move, right? He’d thought so. ”Yes we shall, Miss Tyrell…” Okay, maybe he was trying a little too hard. Would Edmund do this? God, he hoped so. Katrin Tyrell was a damn catch.
