With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
Ciar Stevens was enjoying his little time off, and had been spending time at bars, or at home alone. The male had been acting a little bit off ever since he had seen his ex-fiancee with a toddler girl. Sure, he said he didn’t want to know that if the child was his because he was so hurt when he discovered that she had been sleeping with another man. He had never told his family about possibly being a father, because he honestly had no idea if he’d make a great dad. There was no telling that if he would find himself with a girl again, someone to love. Maybe he would find himself a boyfriend, and start another war between his parents. He knew his father was a homophobic ass, having heard the remarks he had made toward Casey.
The male had been sitting at home in his crappy apartment as he drank a beer and cleaned his broom, wanting to prepare for the next game. The season was great, and he wanted to make sure he was on top of his game. The place was a mess, and beer bottles were everywhere. Okay, he was thankful that he hadn’t brought a woman home. If they saw how he lived, they’d run the other way.
”I need to get out of the apartment.” he mumbled to himself and stood up to grab himself a fresh shirt when he had heard a knock on his door, causing him to turn around and sighed as he peeked through the hole, cocking his head to the side.
He unlocked the door and opened it.
”Finn…” he said and stepped aside to let his little brother in.
Finn was beyond worried about Ciar. The guy had been shutting himself out and Finn noticed these things way faster than some of his siblings seemed to have. The young man just wanted to check up on Ciar and if a woman opened the door then nothing has been wrong with Ciar to begin with. The man knocked on his brother's apartment door and smiled a bit when Ciar opened the door himself, letting him in. Finn held up a bag from McDonalds and grinned a bit.
"I brought food." he said and though the wizarding world had good meals.. nothing would cheer a person up more than junkfood. With a smile the guy grabbed a burger from the bag and tossed it at Ciar.
"I got worried about you mate, you've been so quiet and haven't even stopped by my work anymore." he said and plopped down on the couch.
Ciar had closed the door once his brother came inside, he locked it and gave his brother a smile when he was tossed a burger. Catching the burger, he unwrapped it and taken a much needed bite. He loved eating muggle food from fast food restaurants. He had let out a happy groan when his brother told him he was worried about him. The thought made him pause, giving him a nod and he sighed as he moved to flop down next to his brother. ”I’ve been dealing with personal things.” he stated as he took another bite of his burger.
”I saw Britney in the alley the other day.” he said, looking at his brother with a tiny smile. ”She didn’t see me, but she had a little girl with her.” he said, admitting that one secret. He never told his family why he and Britney had broken it off in the first place, not wanting his family to go after her.
Finn had to grow up, something he really didn't think he had to until a woman took advantage of him. He didn't think he'd be facing the things he was facing right now if that never happened to him. The young male knew most of his family's pain but he didn't like to linger with it. His father always said he lived in a fantasy land where everything was good and shiny, did he really? Did he really think life would get better just by pretending pain wasn't there? He didn't like to think about it and feel the obvious answer so he pushed it away.
Finn happily took a bite from his own burger and hummed happily. "Oh wow I didn't think she'd still be around mate." he said and took another bite. "What do you mean a little girl? Like a child?" he asked and cocked his head to the side. "You better be fine, I heard you have a big game coming up." he said and ate from his own burger for a moment. "It's just you usually check in on me and you haven't." he added and shrugged. "Want soda? I got soda." he said and held a cup out.
"You know this food is so gross looking but so tasty." he said and ate from the burger before taking a sip of his soda. Finn liked to keep the subject off of himself for now and just looked at his older brother. Ciar was a good guy and Finn wanted him to be happy. "Oh did you know about Casey? Championship game for her this year." he told his brother and smirked a bit. "Betcha that Jonah is going to lose."
”I didn’t expect to see her man…” Ciar admitted as he took a few small bites of his burger. It had been stressful since seeing her and the child with her. He knew there was a chance that the little girl belonged to Ciar, but honestly he didn’t want to know. He had no idea if he was fit to be a father, knowing that it could mess around with his career and Ciar loved his job. ”Yes, a child. I believe that child is ...mine…” he said softly, not really wanting to talk about it but the damage was already done.
”Chances are she’s not. I’ve never told anyone why we broke it off. But I caught her having an affair with someone and well, I ended things.” he told his brother as he took the soda from his brother, taking a large gulp of it. He needed it more than the beer he had been drinking.
There was a smirk on his face when he heard that Casey was playing in the championship game at Hogwarts that year. ”Oh yes. She will kick his ass into next week. Especially with that beater on her team. The one I heard she’s dating…”
Finn didn't know much about the suffering Ciar put himself through because Ciar didn't really talked about his feelings. Maybe it was a guy thing to not talk about how you feel but Finn believed it was a silly thing because if he didn't let people know how he felt, how would they know to help? There was little logic but Finn always had been different compared to his brothers. The young man ate from his burger as his brother spoke about the situation and truth be told he felt bad for Ciar at that moment in time.
"If she was yours though, she might have told you about it. If she isn't, then she isn't." Ciar didn't know whether the child was his as where Finn actually did know he was a father to a child who didn't know he was the father to begin with. What if one day the child would come to him? When he was building up his own life? Finn didn't want to think about that either and coughed as he almost choked on his burger right there. "Guess we both have bad luck with the ladies." he teased a bit.
"Yes the beater girl, she is very fond of her isn't she?" Finn asked and sipped from his own soda.
The truth was out, and Finn can do what he wanted to with it. Ciar trusted his brother not to tell anyone in his family because the last thing he needed was for his mother to get involved. The male had seen his mother try to put her nose in all of her children’s dating lives and even embarrassed them whenever they had brought a girl home. Ciar had been there when she had met Britney, and with the whole breakup a few years prior his mother wanted to go talk to the girl and Ciar had to stop her. He didn’t want the truth to come out because even though he loved his ex, he didn’t want her to go into the line of fire. Mama Stevens had a temper and if one of her babies were hurt, well you’d know damn well where you might end up.
”When she told me, I told her I didn’t want to know because her cheating had sent me over the edge. I honestly can’t see myself as a father. I fear I’ll end up like our old man and we don’t need that.” he said and grabbed his drink taking a sip of it. He eyed his brother for a moment, raising an eyebrow.
”I do hope our dear sister isn’t getting too distracted by this girl. She needs to win Ravenclaw that cup.”
Girls were tricky people weren't they? Finn didn't even know how he felt about Darcy who he hasn't heard from since she went back to school. Maybe they were just meant to be friends? He really had no idea but he wanted to be there for his brother so he shouldn't be thinking about a girl he met should he? Even when the subject did make him think about Darcy, his ex, the girls who flirted with him and his brother pointing it out because Finn barely noticed.
The young male let out a small sigh and nodded at his brother's words. "You'd be a great father but you should be the father of a child with a mother you love deeply right? A mother you'd do anything for.." he said with a small smile. "One day you will be." he added, patting his shoulder. "Oh she will win the cup! The girl is a beater, the last thing on their mind will be romance... right?" Finn asked a bit confused. Quidditch was about.. well... Quidditch.
Ciar would be disappointed if his sister didn’t put 100% of her head into the game because romance can get you into all kinds of trouble when you’re at work. He hadn’t been able to settle down with someone because he was too focused on his career and he was enjoying whoring about. Though if one of his one night stands came to his doorstep, knocked up - would he turn her away? Or would he support the woman through it and maybe ask her to move in so he can help with the child. He had no idea what he would do if he was in that type of situation.
”I hope so.” he said and grabbed his soda to sip it as he thought about Mavican and Casey. ”They better focus on the game. But you never know with hormonal teenagers, huh?”
Quidditch wasn't easy but he knew his sister loved the sport so much it made no sense for her not to focus on it. The young male let out a small sigh and ran a hand through his hair before sipping from his soda again. Finn thought about the things he could do, the quidditch games he played in school. He was good but he didn't want to make it his career like his brothers did, they wanted it all. Finn just wanted to work with animals and became a bartender because his old job mistreated him.
"I like working at the shelter whenever I dont work at the bar.." he said and ate from his burger. "Casey wants to be a pro and she said her friend does as well.. why would they waste their chance if they can have this?" he asked and looked at his brother in confusion. What was Ciar thinking? The young male looked at the food, letting his brother's words sink in.
