With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
Casey had been always been prepared for upcoming games within months of actually playing, and she had a daily schedule of working out around the Quidditch pitch. Sometime both Stevens’ siblings would be out on the pitch, challenging each other but today she was alone. Jonah had something else better to do, or so he says. It was probably some other girl to study with, and of course she wasn’t going to question her brothers motives. If he wanted to become Ciar, so be it - just don’t let Casey see it. Every time she would see her brother with some girl, she would make a disgusted face and move on with her day. As long as he doesn’t get a girl pregnant - or better yet, try to flirt with her girlfriend.
The Ravenclaw seeker had been jogging up and down the stands, trying to keep her breathing steady. She had to spend at least fifteen minutes of going up and down the stands without tripping. After a few years of doing this, she had mastered not wiping out on these stands. There were times where she’d bruise herself up, and not being able to move. But lately, she’s been avoiding it, and she felt lucky.
After the fifteen minutes were up, she slowed her pace down and had started to make her way back down to the actual field before she heard footsteps nearby, and her head turned to look at a fellow teammate, causing her to smile a bit. ”Hey…” she said, sounding like she was going to die. The cold air was not helping her lungs at all after her workout.

"Hey, Casey. Been working out for the game?" Emil called out toward the stands where he heard footsteps and saw a familiar head of brown hair. He was pretty sure Ravenclaw had a good chance at the Quidditch Cup this year, and the dedication of the team proved it. He'd seen them all heading out to the pitch at various times of day, and even he did the same when he had time--like he was doing right now. His broom was in his hand as he walked out to the center of the pitch, hoping to practice the takeoff so he'd be able to catch the Quaffle first when it was tossed. Getting ahead from the start would protect them even if anything happened to Casey...
...which it shouldn't, considering the fifth-year was working perhaps harder than any of them, but her heavy breathing sounded a little off. Emil was no stranger to overworking yourself, having fallen asleep in the library or in front of the common room fire on more than one occasion. But this time, he had to make sure his teammate actually wasn't going to fall ill from running in this weather. He had to say that he might be a little bit worried about her, with the way her voice sounded. "Wait, do you need a healer?" he said, jogging over closer to where she was standing. "Your breathing doesn't sound so good. We don't need you sick!"
Perhaps working out in this weather wasn’t the smartest idea, but Casey was tougher than she looked. The female might be tiny, but she can fight any illness heading her way without much of a problem. Sure, she had gotten herself sick for doing the very thing she had just done, but she wasn’t going to let that defeat her to a point of being stuck in bed. If she got sick from it, so be it. Maybe she should have used protective gear, something she would wear during the games in winter to avoid the cold hurt her face but she was just working out and didn’t see the problem until Emil came closer to her. ”I’ll be fine…” she said, trying to calm her own breathing down and back to normal.
The female gestured around her, letting out a small cough and sniffled a bit. ”The cold weather doesn’t help me at all but I’m sure I’ll still be alive by our game.” she said, putting her hands on her face. God, she was cold. This was probably a terrible idea. ”I had worse.”

Even though Casey insisted that she was fine, Emil could hear how she tried to hide a small cough. He wasn't going to tell her not to run in the cold--that wasn't his place, really, and she needed to train somewhere--but he was going to be worried about his teammate's health. Not just because they would lose the Cup if Casey was sick, although that was a concern, but also because he cared about his teammates. They'd been playing together for a while, spending so much time together--he didn't want to see them be miserable.
"You better be alive by the game," Emil said with a small smile. "But I have no doubt you will. I just want to make sure you don't end up in the hospital wing." True, the matron could fix plenty of ailments very quickly. His own broken leg from the Winter Ball had been mended in the space of a few days, leaving him with only a bit of strange pain in his knee every so often. It was, he thought, a good thing he needed to fly instead of run to play Quidditch. "Would a Hot-Air Charm help you out? I'll do some training with you, if you'd like, but not while you're coughing like this."
It wasn’t Casey intentions to make someone worry about her, but when she listened to Emil, she knew he was beyond worried. It caused her to smile a tiny bit through her little pain she was in and nodded. ”I promise I won’t die.” she had stated as she moved a bit and stretched a bit. There were times when she’d arrive at the pitch before the meet up in the locker room because she needed to unwind a bit before listening to any gameplay they can use for their advantage during a game. Has she ever let her team down intentionally? No. She played her hardest.
When he mentioned the hot-air charm, Casey wanted to face palm because of all these years she had spent training in the dead cold, she never thought about it until he mentioned it. ”That might actually help. I don’t know why I never thought about that now. Maybe because I’m so deep inside my own head…” she said with a small chuckle.
