With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!

Artemis had been pacing around the cabin, looking for something to nibble on and was in a foul mood because it seemed like the others had hid the junk food she was craving. Okay, it couldn’t be entirely healthy, but she wanted something to snack on and she couldn’t find what she wanted. The boys had gone out to do some shopping, and she wishes she had gone with them because she needed to get out of the cabin for some fresh air. It had worried her that she let the two boys go alone knowing full well that they both had a temper and would get into trouble if someone dared to say something to them. At least they were shopping in a muggle store, and not being out in the open in the wizarding world.
There was a low grumble from the female as she climbed up onto the step stool, looking through the cabinets and let out a happy cackle when she found what she had been looking for. A box of crackers, salty crackers and she had opened the box to smell them better. Yep, they were still good. Awesome. The female had stepped off the stool, smirking as she started to eat the crackers.
Artemis had seated herself on the couch, her legs reaching the table and her hands finding the old remote for the television. She didn’t know who owned these crackers, but they were hers now.
The female was watching an old cartoon when she heard the door open, and she hugged onto the box, letting out a growl. ”If you even think about taking these away from me, you’ll be dead in a heartbeat.” she said and ate another cracker without looking at the person standing there. ”Mine!”

Do you know that feeling when you just have massive cravings? Mara had those feelings right now and she craved orange soda. The girl had to deal with her boyfriend getting groceries with Dallas. It was hard to let him go without her but the thing was that he needed to be able to go out with Dallas and feel safe. The supermarket wasn't that far away and he promised to bring back chocolate so Mara was fine waiting till he returned.
The girl made her way to the fridge from her bedroom where she had been watching some weird tv show on netflix and cocked her head when she heard a voice coming from the couch. "Oh no I was just getting soda, no need for death threats." she assured her friend and smiled as she grabbed a can. Artemis seemed to cling on that box with her life and as Mara opened the can she sat down beside her friend figuring she could use the company.
"What are those anyway?" She asked curiously. "The boys should be back soon with food." she added and eyed the cartoon.

Artemis had taken another cracker out of its box before nibbling on it, not looking up at Mara and let out a low whine. Okay, maybe she shouldn’t be entirely rude but she couldn’t help it. She couldn’t do anything for herself because the boys thought she’d break. There were times when she had to glare to get her point across and have them let her do her own thing, even if it’s lifting up some logs. She wasn’t weak, she was strong like the rest of them. Sure, they just wanted to make sure nothing happened to baby Reid. ”Sorry, I’m just craving salty things and this was the only thing I can find.” she said, holding up the box. ”Someone tried to hide crackers but they failed.” she said as she leaned her head back as she watched the cartoon.
”I’m glad. I’m glad they both got to escape the cabin for a bit. Both needed the fresh air and not be murdered by a pregnant wolf.” she said, holding the box out to offer her some. Sharing is caring, right?
”You worried about Peter being out there?”

Of course she was worried about Peter, the guy shouldn't be out there without her. She was supposed to be by his side but instead she wasn't, she was alone and scared. The brunette let out a small sigh and just looked at Artie who was eating those crackers like her life depended on it. "I think they're in the bottom cabinet actually." she said softly and curled up a bit. She just wanted her boyfriend to be okay and right now she didn't even know if he was okay. What if something went totally wrong on him?
Mara took some crackers and nodded a bit. "Yes. I mean it's not like I don't want them to be outside but it's Peter.. he doesn't usually go out without me and I'm worried. Ever since his nightmares came back.." she sighed and looked at Artemis who seemed quite relaxed really. "How do you stay so relaxed and calm?" she asked her friend not knowing how she did this. Peter and Mara have been on the run for so long, relaxing was really hard to do for her.
"I know it's stupid to worry but we barely spend time apart.."

Artemis understood as to why Mara would be worried about her boyfriend being away from her, and the safety of the cabin. The couple were protective of each other, Artie had noted long before Peter’s nightmares started coming back. Post Traumatic Stress was a serious thing, and it can’t be cured overnight. It was an illness that could follow someone into their grave, many years after the traumatic event. When Mara admitted that she was afraid for Peter, and worried; Artie shifted in her seat and eyed the girl beside her.
”He’s safe with Dallas, you know that right? If Peter has an episode, Dallas knows how to calm him down.” she said and took another cracker out of the box with a sigh. ”I’ve learned to relax and not stress about things unless I have too. It takes a lot to make me angry or stress.” she said with a tiny smile. ”And I don’t usually try to bite peoples heads off but I think it’s the pregnancy that’s making me ...mean.”

Mara envied the skill Artemis had. The patience that Mara lacked, the lack of paranoia because there was nothing for Artemis to be paranoid about. Mara wished she was that strong, that carefree because she loved being here with her friends. Mara loved Peter, Mara loved the adventures but she was afraid that one day it was going to end badly for them all and she wasn't going to be able to fix it. Mara might be overreacting at times but the cautious seemed to live the most blinded lives when all she wanted was to feel safe.
With Peter she did, without him she was scared.
"I know.. I just.." she let out a small sigh and ate a cracker. "I don't like being away from him and I know I should let him do his thing but we've been together for so long.." she admitted biting her bottom lip in shame. Mara chewed on her lip and just shook her head slowly, she felt stupid even talking about this but Artemis seemed to understand. "I wish I could be like you.. you know.. less temperamental.." she said softly. "I mean I can be nice but I have quite the temper too.."

Artemis looked at Mara as she reached into the box for another cracker, putting it in her mouth as she listened to Mara’s concerns. The blonde knew how she felt, but she wasn’t going to worry unless it was needed. For the first few months of being on her own with just Dallas and Apollo, she was a nervous being and paranoid about all the things. They couldn’t go home because as soon as the Fitzgerald’s found out about her and her twin being turned, they turned their backs on the twins. They told them to leave and never return. It hurt her but she never brought up the pain because she was worried that she might get caught.
Thankfully, the Reid’s offered their cabin to Dallas and Artemis, something she was forever thankful for. They provided the food and a roof over their heads, sometimes even visited it before they were murdered in the summer of 2018.
”I do have a temper, it’s just hidden. Somewhere deep down, Mara,” Artemis told her friend as she looked at the girl. ”Want to play a game of chess or something to keep your mind off Peter?”

Playing games, keep your mind off of it. These things they kept doing every day because there was nothing else she could do. She couldn't even fight for herself because what was there to fight for? What was the use of endangering herself just to let the world know she is not the monster they thought she was. Lashing out was what monsters do, she saw the newspapers. She saw what the other packs were doing, packs she considered joining before finding Peter. Mara let out a small sigh and just ran a hand through her hair, not sure what else to do.
"Really? You hide it well then. Maybe you're a Jedi." she teased, thanks to Peter making her watch all the star wars movies. Mara got up and grabbed the chess board and pieces. "Alright but I will beat you at this, again." she said and put the board down, sitting on the opposite side of Artemis. Mara smiled a bit as she set up the pieces and though she hated the way she lived, she was also thankful that the way she lived was out of harms way.
"Peter always gets upset when he loses, I let him win for months now." she told her with a smile.
