With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
It had been a rough patch coming back to the castle as if nothing happened over the holidays. And to make matters worse, she had to make sure her ex-boyfriend didn’t go murdering fellow Slytherin because they’re disrespecting Professor Tyrell, and the family name. Sure, it wasn’t any of her business, but she cared deeply for Ozzy despite him being her ex-boyfriend. Last thing she wanted was for him to get into trouble, and dealing with his father was something no Tyrell would want. She had met the man once, and he scared her but he was polite in his own special way.
Morgan hadn’t been able to address her own little problems after the incident at the cabin, and the moment her nightmares had started up again. They weren’t as bad, but for some reason she was seeing her hands on the knife instead of the strangers she saw the night her parents were killed. The female would wake up in cold sweat, and would sneak off to avoid being caught by her dorm mates. They didn’t need to see the mess she was in. At least she was sleeping instead of fighting it this time around.
Morgan had found herself outside, looking straight ahead at the two idiots jumping on each other’s back. Her sketchbook laid opened in her lap as she had started to draw the two without their knowledge. There was a blank expression on her face when someone had flopped down on the ground beside her, and she looked over at her girlfriend. ”Hey you.” she said, putting down her pencil and kissed her cheek. ”What’s up?”
Truth be told it was quite the ride being back after the holidays. Ryker had been so busy with so many things, graduation coming closer every single minute she wasn't paying attention. It was almost terrifying to find out what her future would hold but honestly Quidditch might not even be it. Ryker loved her life but she was so much more than just an athletic girl, she had the brains of the twin set, she had the passion for fashion. Ryker had thought about starting her own business when she graduated.
Her own fashion line, her own store with only the best fashionistas working there. The brunette headed of the castle needing to work on a paper in peace but she couldn't do that out there, in the noise. Besides she had plans she was supposed to go through with during Christmas but something interrupted her and it kind of annoyed her. She needed to figure out how to do that and maybe outside she had the right ideas coming to her.
Once out on the lawns she saw a familiar redhead and her frown turned into a happy expression as she headed for her girlfriend. Ryker tossed something on the grass to protect her ass from green stains before taking a seat beside Morgan. There was a smile when a kiss was planted on her cheek and Ryker turned to look at her. "Hey." she said with almost a purr in her voice.
"Not much, tried to work on a paper but I couldn't focus inside." she admitted and looked at her work, shoving it in her bag. "How about you? any artistic ideas?" she asked peeking at her sketchbook. Ryker kissed Morgan's cheek and took in her scent before looking away. "The werewolf club was a disaster.." she added with a small sigh. Maybe she wasn't leadership material like she thought she was.
There werewolf meeting was a disaster, but she wasn’t going to give up on the club. Perhaps once Ryker would graduate, she’d take over as a leader, but part of her didn’t. She didn’t want the extra stress, and she just wanted to graduate in peace, not wanting people to stop her from achieving her goals. It was bad enough that Morgan had planned on stopping by the scene of the crime during the summer holidays (where her parents were murdered) and see if she can remember some of the events that had taken place that evening. If she can remember if there were words said so he can identify the killer. Something had to be done. And she didn’t tell anyone about her plans, not wanting them to come along with her. It was something she needed to do alone.
”Ignore them.” she said, looking at the two what she assumed were brothers wrestle nearby, causing her to smile. ”I can’t seem to find my artistic mojo. It’s like I lost it at the cabin.” she said, and turned to the page of her last sketch, it was done during a night at the cabin a couple of months ago.
”My muse is trapped.” she admitted as she eyed her girlfriend with a shrug. ”I don’t know what to do about it.”
Ryker had a hard time not doubting herself right about now. All she did was try to be the best she can be and show others that there is always another way to go about things in life. Still there were always the people who doubted her, who let fear lead them into disaster which was exactly what was happening to this world, fear leading them into disaster.
"I am trying... really. The thing is with the ministry woman being there. They don't feel free to speak their minds, they don't want to even try and get something done." She rolled her shoulders into a shrug and eyed the art work her girlfriend was working on, her brow arched slightly as she didn't understand a single thing about art.
"Maybe you are emotionally blocking yourself." she offered and eyed her girlfriend. "Not to mention focussing to hard on one thing can often be frustrating to the point of blockage. I have it with my fashion designs all the time."
Morgan looked at her girlfriend with a slight frown, and looked at her art work. Sometimes she just wanted to toss the sketchbook into a fire, and let it all burn. But she had been told not to give up on the one thing she loved because she couldn’t move forward, and to find something that would help her get it back. Perhaps forcing it wasn’t the best idea, and so she had closed the book, putting it aside. ”I know something that could help.” she said and grinned as she moved a bit to straddle her girlfriend’s lap.
”Maybe kissing you is all I need.” she said and kissed her softly. She didn’t care if they gave a show to the other students. She just wanted to forget about what had happened to her at the cabin. To forget the nightmares that had started coming back.
Ryker knew that Morgan was in a jam as much as she was. What happened at the cabin wasn't something that should be taken lightly. Even when that was truly something bad, Ryker didn't want to see Morgan give up on the one thing she loved so much. The art she loved so much. With a small nod of her head the brunette watched her girlfriend straddle her lap. "Oh really?" she asked and cocked her head to the side before returning the kiss.
Well Ryker didn't know if the kiss helped Morgan one bit but she surely felt a lot better. Ryker wasn't one to shy away from public displays of affection, honestly she had little shame when it came to anything she did so Ryker happily got lost in the kiss. Her mind was all over the place, she thought about wanting to ask Morgan's hand back at the cabin.
Thought about their fight and how much Morgan would go through just to get her point made. Ryker often didn't care about her jealousy but maybe Morgan just needed to be reminded more often that Ryker wasn't going anywhere. After a while Ryker broke the kiss because she truly needed air and took a breathe to fill up her lungs with air. "That surely made me feel lots better.." She said with a grin and reached to tuck a lock of hair away from Morgan's face. "Do you feel any better or do you need more of me?"
There were times when Morgan had doubted their relationship would last because of everyone throwing themselves at Ryker. There were times when she wanted to murder every single boy or girl who dare to try to get between her and her girlfriend, sometimes it went as far to wanting to murder her own girlfriend. But if anyone knew Morgan, she had a temper but would never act out on her death threats because she wasn’t one for prison. The redhead would never risk her freedom, not when her brothers were relying on her. They needed her as much as she needed them and she wasn’t going to let anything get in the way of it at all.
When Ryker broke the kiss, Morgan groaned but understood that they both needed the air and she had rested her hands on her girlfriends shoulders as she kept her eyes closed. There was a smirk on her face as Ryker mentioned that it made her feel better and she chuckled softly as she opened her eyes to look at her. ”Mmm. Made me feel a little better.” she whispered softly and looked behind her for a moment to make sure no one was watching them.
”Oh, you know I’m in need of more Ryker Young. Just not in a public place…” she smirked, giving her a quick kiss on the lips.
Ryker had a smile on her lips because the thought of being alone with Morgan was just the best thing she could think off right now. She hated to accept the fact that they blew their quidditch year and she had to graduate knowing she could have taken the cup home if only her team didn't suck. Though the last thing she wanted was to pursue professional quidditch. Ryker enjoyed the sports and she was good but she loved fashion more and would much rather have her own fashion business.
The young woman looked at her girlfriend and kissed her jawline. "Mmm I am glad I could do that." she said and wrapped her arms around her girlfriend. "Yes, beside I don't like grass in places grass shouldn't be.." she chuckled and returned the kiss on the lips. "Let's get out of here then?" she suggested and looked at her girlfriend with hopeful eyes. Truth be told, girlfriend time was exactly what Ryker needed, some time where she didn't have to stress or think about things that would concern others. Something selfish because it meant all she had was her girlfriend right where she wanted her to be.
Morgan had wanted some private time with her girlfriend for a while now, something that was robbed from her because of the incident back at the cabin. And the fact that Morgan was stressing at trying to manage the Reid funds - trying to study for the exams because in a years time she would be in her final year at Hogwarts and needed to line herself up with a good job to support her brothers. Sure, they were well off but she worried about them more than anything else in the world. She wanted to take care of them and to make sure Skylar didn’t grow up too fast.
Being alone with her girlfriend was the best thing that can happen to her right now, make her forget what is going on in the world around them. Get lost in the passion, the love. The smile stayed on Morgan’s lips when she offered to go somewhere else and Morgan nodded as she kissed her nose. ”Mmm. Yes. Let’s go somewhere…” she whispered softly as she moved to get off her girlfriends lap. Once she was on her feet, she offered both her hands to help her girlfriend off the ground, looking around with a smirk. ”Our usual spot?”
