With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
It was another day at Hogwarts, and Ezra had made his way down to the Great Hall for some breakfast meals. He had passed by the other students, looking at their expressions and he knew they didn’t want to be up for another day of boring classes. Ezra on the other hand, barely slept the night before and yet he was wide awake, eager to get his day going. He had greeted a couple of people who looked like they could murder him, but that didn’t stop him from smiling and being himself. He wanted to get some food in him before he had to go to classes and face the adults who can’t take a joke these days.
The boy skipped into the Great Hall, his robes a mess along with his hair before he flopped down next to one of his classmates, and he stole a slice of toast off her plate. ”Good morning beautiful.” he greeted, taking a bite of the toast and grinned. ”How are you feeling this fine morning?”

Being a morning person was almost given to Rose by her mother's genetics. Every single morning Rose woke up at least an hour before breakfast, washed up and made sure she was ready and fabulous for her day ahead. She wasn't like most slobs who ran late and seemed to lack interest in the studies they followed here. Did anyone seem to forget how lucky they are? Being here was a privelage some people seemed to forget they had.
The redhead was seated at the breakfast table, reading as she ate when someone sat down beside her and stole her food. Her perfectly arranged plate suddenly ruined and her eyes sent a glare as a greeting. "Ezra." she added with a grumble and grabbed new toast for herself from one of the plates filled with food. "I'm alright thank you." she answered and put some cinnamon and sugar on her toast.
"You seem happy." she remarked, stating the obvious as she took a bite from her toast, as if it was a way of saying hands off my food. "Did you sleep at all? You have bags under your eyes." she poked his cheek.
Ezra had grinned when he finished off the slice of toast he had stolen a few moments before, groaning happily at the taste. People really shouldn’t leave their food unattended because he would steal anything from their plates. He was a growing boy after all. There was no telling what he would do next, and even though she had grabbed herself a new slice of toast, he couldn’t help but eye it with a grin. Well, that was before she took a bite. Like that would stop him from stealing that very slice, but whatever. Instead, he had reached for an empty plate, and started to pile food onto it.
The male had made a face when she had stated that he looked happy, and noticed the bags under his eyes. It caused him to give her a look of disbelief for a split second before he had taken a bite of a new slice of toast from his plate.
”Might’ve gotten two or three hours last night. Don’t worry, I feel great.” he told her as he reached for a coffee cup, looking at one of the students across from him who gave him a look of are you kidding me?.
He had started to put his coffee together, the way he liked it. ”What were you reading?”

Rose wasn't used to people stealing her food because she usually knew she'd set them on fire but whether he was a doofus or not, she liked Ezra so his hands are spared. The redhead had gotten into trouble for setting people on fire for stealing what is hers, she was quite protective over her own things like that. Maybe it was something she got from her father, he was a pig but he was protective over the food he ate.
"Only a few hours? How do you even function?" she asked him with a frown and just ate from her breakfast, turning back to her reading material. "It's about dark creatures, the defense against the dark arts class inspired me to read about it." she said with a small shrug and cocked her head to the side as she watched him drink coffee.

Ezra hadn’t been sleeping much because he was a night owl and loved the darkness. Sure, it would probably make his roommates uncomfortable but he was always keeping to himself when he couldn’t sleep. He wasn’t one to keep someone awake, he wasn’t that rude. Instead he would find himself reading some dumb book or even sitting in front of the fireplace in the common room so he wouldn’t bother with the others. Last night he was eating some snacks in front of the fireplace while the others slept. So the coffee was needed for him to function.
When Rose had asked him how does he function, he held up the cup of coffee as he sipped it. There was a smile on his face as he placed the cup down and started to eat his breakfast. ”Creatures? Sounds interesting.” he said and looked at her with a grin as he grabbed his coffee again. ”It’s tasty.”

Dark creatures were beyond interesting, they were magical in a way not many people seemed to understand. Rose thought of them as beautiful even when their mere existence is darkness and destruction. Why would they even be here if there wasn't a way to redeem them? Sure her mother had some stupid campaign about house elves and though Rose respected the little munchkins she didn't think they were interesting enough to read upon and spend time on.
The redhead had her brow arched at her classmate who was so much enjoying the disgusting bitter drink that was coffee. She still made a face at it and nodded. "Interesting indeed, unlike your taste in drinks. Honestly how can you even digest that? It can't be that tasty." she said with a disapproving tone to her voice before turning back to her book. "What do you know about harpies?" she asked him curiously and showed him a picture from her book. "Don't they look badass?"
There was a tiny smirk on Ezra’s face as he sipped the coffee, humming a bit as Rose dissed his choice in drinks. Ezra couldn’t help but chuckle, knowing that this drink wasn’t for kids like them but back home, he’d steal sips from his mother’s mug whenever they weren’t looking. Has he been caught? Once or twice. Was he asked not to drink this stuff while at Hogwarts? Sure, but what his mom’s don’t know won’t kill them. Unless his siblings decided to tattle on him which was doubtful. Or so he hoped.
The male tilted his head to the side. ”It helps make sure I don’t fall asleep during the day, Rosie.” he winked as he placed the cup down to look at harpies. ”A hybrid type creature. Half-bird, half-human. They do look badass. I’ve always wanted to see one.”

Did she think that Ezra's choice in drink was bad? yes but she wasn't going to point it out anymore. The boy told her that the coffee helped him stay awake and she was quite surprised about that because she honestly didn't understand why he couldn't be awake during the day. The redhead sipped from her juice and hummed a bit as she did so. This was quite the unusual conversation and him calling her Rosie was not even bothering her because everyone did. "If you say so Ezra though how on earth do you need means to stay awake? Have you not slept at all?" she asked him.
With the subject on the harpies, Rose eyed her book with a smile. "Theyre quite majestic aren't they? One day I will meet one." she said with a nod. "I think they would eat you though."

There was a grin on Ezra’s face as he started to put a plate of food together for himself, and he hummed when Rose asked him if he got any sleep. There was a tiny laugh from the boy and he shook his head as he put some jelly on his slices of toast. ”Probably one or two hours at the latest.” he said with a shrug and figured he’d go to sleep early that night to catch up with his lack of sleep. It was concerning, but he didn’t mind it.
”Well I highly doubt I’m tasty, Rose.” he grinned.
