With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
Classes had been tough and Scorpius wasn't one for dramatic sceneries so he fled class as soon as it ended. Sometimes he wished he was in classes with quiet people who could leave him the hell alone. He didn't like getting into trouble, even when his name states the opposite. Scorpius was seated at the Slytherin table, his eyes on his food as he thought about how to deal with classmates.
Scorpius looked up when he noticed movement and spotted the girl with the colorful candy. She was nice to him and maybe Scorpius just needed to make more friends. Sure he was still terrified of girls but she wasn't like the type of girls that feared him. She was smart and sweet. At least she didn't want to kiss him or try to either which was progress in his book.
"Hey Mia!" he waved and smiled a bit as he did so. The boy ate from his sandwich real quick before talking to her more. "How are you?"
Mia had been bored, and had been searching for someone to harass but her siblings weren’t around to deal with her pain in the ass remarks. So she had found herself alone, looking for her group of best friends but they’re nowhere to be found which made her walk into the Great Hall with a slight pout and an annoyed attitude because one glance at the Slytherin table, she spotted Declan Tyrell and she wanted to slap that smug look off his face. Instead, she heard Scorpius Malfoy call for her and she had turned her attention to her new friend. As long as he wasn’t sitting near the Tyrell she hated so much.
The female headed toward him with a sweet smile, her hand moving up the strap of the bag that was hanging off her shoulder so she can adjust it and she had taken a seat next to her blonde friend. She’d find the other’s later but right now she wanted the company. ”I’m good. Just tired of the professors hounding us about homework. How are you?” she asked as she peeked toward Declan with a glare.
Sometimes a shoulder to cry on is exactly what some people needed to move on with themselves. Scorpius let out a small sigh as the girl sat down, he was glad she joined him because his own best friend seemed to have bailed on him and he really didn't feel like he could talk to anyone else about his problems these days. Then again he wasn't going to bother Mia with them because he surely didn't like to complain.
Scorpius motioned for her to take food from the large plates across the table as he took another bite of his sandwich. "I feel the same way. Trust me, Professor Tyrell is beyond terrifying these days don't you think?" he asked and scratched the back of his neck before eating more. "I don't understand why she is so mean, Ozzy is actually very nice." he didn't have any siblings but Ozzy was like the big brother he never had.
"These sandwiches are good." he followed her gaze for a moment. "You don't like Declan?" he asked and turned to look at her again.
Mia had been new when she arrived at Hogwarts back in September, and didn’t really know the names of some of the older students. But after months of being there, she heard a lot about the Tyrell family and the professor that doesn’t know how to smile. She wondered if she always had that attitude, or did something terrible happened to her? Mia didn’t want to question it, instead she learned to mind her own business when it came to the Tyrell’s despite one of them being one of her best friends who seemed to be MIA these days. Did he find himself a girlfriend?
”I don’t know what Professor Tyrell’s story is, but I think she should smile more. She seems to have no sense of humor at all.” she said as she helped herself with some food. There were looks from Slytherin’s nearby but they didn’t say anything.
She looked at Scorpius for a moment when he mentioned Declan Tyrell. ”Is he always that smug?” she asked.
Some professors were quite scary to be around. Sure his own mother was a professor but she wasn't a scary person. The young Slytherin boy often just went to classes in silence and though he liked Mia he didn't think she saw him as a close friend. They didn't really sit together in classes either being in different years and probably because they weren't so close. Scorpius though hoped at some point they would become friends because he could use a real friend but he wasn't going to keeps his hopes up.
He was still a Malfoy.
"I don't think she likes us.. any of us.." he admitted and looked at his food for a moment. He didn't think the professor hated the kids but he did think she didn't enjoy her job like his mom did. "She is kind of mean but maybe it's because she is so young?" he asked not sure if that was even a thing. "I believe he is, I don't talk to him much but he is very sure of himself." he didn't know how else to put it but Mia surely didn't seem to like the guy.
"Maybe its because of his family too? Do you think family influences who you are?"
