With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
Soon they all had to go back to their normal lives. Elijah would go back to Hogwarts and the four of them would be alone again. The weirdo with the obsession of plants had disappeared, probably because Apollo freaked the fuck out on them and now it was peace and quiet before the end. Mara spun her glass around on the table as she watched TV. It was a lame christmas movie but they had not much else to do. The others were out for something and she was left alone with her brother.
Mara looked over at Elijah and threw some popcorn at him. "What's the matter big brother? Christmas depression setting in?" she teased. Honestly this had been hard on all of them but seeing her brother and sister again felt really good for once. The girl sat back and ate some popcorn from the bowl in her lap as she watched her brother, waiting for him to respond.

The Christmas blues were settling in, and Elijah didn’t feel like heading back to Hogwarts because of the werewolf laws was getting out of hand, and he didn’t get to see his baby sister as much as he wanted too. Being at school wasn’t the same without his baby sister around, and he hated the situation they were all in. The wolves weren’t safe unless they were hidden in the cabin, and he was worried with the next full moon. Last thing he needed was to read that his sister was in danger because she left the safety of the cabin. It made him think twice of returning to the castle, but he knew he must. His mother and father would be angry if he didn’t return to school.
Elijah had let out a sigh when he felt sister throw popcorn at him and he picked up the piece, popping it into his mouth. He had been unusually quiet after the Apollo ordeal. Was he worried to leave his sister alone with the others? Yes. What if Apollo returned with help? What if the next attack will end in the deaths of the four wolves in the cabin? He didn’t want to ask that outloud. Instead, he moved over, and grabbed a handful of popcorn, popping the pieces into his mouth. ”Just worried about leaving you alone here with the others after what had happened with Apollo.” he said and raised an eyebrow. ”And I don’t get to see you as often as I want. I miss hanging out with you.”
Mara knew her brother was not doing okay with the blues setting in. Soon they had to go back and he had to leave her behind. The brunette watched her brother being super quiet and eating the popcorn she threw at him moments ago. The whole Apollo shit really got everyone freaked the fuck out and truth be told she almost wanted to take Peter and run for the goddamn hills again. Being on the run and being alive was suddenly very much back into her system.
She watched him sit down beside her and take some popcorn. "He won't do anything to hurt Artemis, he seemed quite upset for hurting Morgan. Ryker almost killed him so you know... I am sure he won't try anything." she said though was she sure? She wasn't. She was scared he would bring the Russians here.
"We've been safe for a while and I refuse to join those packs they have out there. I am not an activist and I sure as hell won't fight innocent people to make a point." she said and bumped his shoulder. "I miss you too, honestly I want to go home this summer but I'm scared dad won't like it.." she sighed. "or mom.. she is always hard on Ryker.. what if she is mad at me too?"
Elijah had thought about having his family together under one roof again, but knew that was near impossible because of what was happening out in the world. He wanted to make sure things were safe for the others, and make sure no one would mess with them. Sure, he knew Apollo didn’t mean to lash out the way he did, but what if he had done it when Elijah and Ryker weren’t around to make sure everyone was safe? Elijah would never forgive himself if something happened to his sister while he was away. But it seemed that she was perfectly well, and he was proud of her for finding Artemis and Dallas when she did. ”I’m sure Apollo won’t do it again, but I still don’t really trust him. The bruises on Morgan aren’t going to heal in time for us to return to school. Last thing we need is to get into trouble.” he said, popping some popcorn into his mouth.
”Maybe you can? Mom and Dad miss you to bits. Sure, mom tends to be a bitch but ...we can deal with that woman. She’ll listen to me.” he said, peeking over the back of the couch as he heard a noise, and a grumbling tired Morgan came inside, kicking off her boots and headed off to the bedroom her and Ryker were staying in. ”Artemis and Dallas are good people for taking you guys in. I heard it was rough out there on your own before you came here. I’m very glad you did. I don’t think you or Peter would have survived out there in the winter.” he said with a tiny smile.
The male had hummed softly before reaching inside his jacket pocket that was hanging on the couch. It was a bag of coins. ”Here. To cover the food for the next couple of months.” he said, holding it out. ”That’s all I have left after Christmas shopping.”
Mara wasn't much of a dreamer but she admittedly dreamed about living back at home with her siblings but life just didn't give her that chance. The brunette knew there were so many risks people didn't seem to take in account and one day her life would change for the better, when that day comes her family can decide whether or not their daughter is worth their attention once more. Mara couldn't not be skeptical about this all and just act like the world was going to become a better place because it wasn't.
Mara arched her brow slightly and hummed. "Just make up a bad sex excuse, works every time." she teased and frowned. "Though not with these I think.." she added quickly. Ryker was anything but abusive. "I'm sure Morgan can take care of herself." Mara had more important things to worry about. "It's not safe for me to go home big brother. I can wolf out and hurt everyone.." she reminded him and sighed. "They might regret wanting to see me or turn me into the authorities." Mara had gotten more paranoid over time and it showed, a lot.
"Peter and I survived worse than winter, winter is actually easy to deal with." she admitted and sighed. "We'll be fine, Peter won't leave my side and neither will I leave his." she added and smiled weakly. Mara took the bag of coins and opened it curiously. "That's a lot of money big brother.." she told him with a bit of confusion. "Are you sure?" she counted quite some galleons in here. All the shiny gold she hadn't touched in so long. "Won't you need it?"
There were some things both Elijah and his father had in common besides being manwhores and charming as hell. He wanted to provide for his family, and even though he didn’t have children to provide for (thank goodness), he wanted to make sure his sister had enough money for food and other things. He wasn’t one to leave her with nothing. Even though that money might help him in the future, he didn’t want to say a thing because he wanted his sister to have food in her stomach and get herself a little something. Maybe something for Peter, who knew.
Elijah nodded as she asked him if he was sure about the money he had given her. ”I’m sure. I don’t need it. I did my holiday shopping and that’s what I had left over. Besides, you guys need it more than me.” he said with a sweet smile.
Mara appreciated how Elijah always tried to take care of her. She really did love him for it and she missed having him around. Unlike her bond with Ryker which was barely existing, she did like bonding with her brother. It gave her a sense of being wanted by at least one person in her family. The girl looked at the bag of gold, they could buy nice food for it or maybe she could finally buy some warm pajamas rather than the rags she had been wearing because she was trying to provide for Peter.
"Thank you, I really appreciate it." she told her brother and gave him a hug. She wished that she could go back to school, life was so much easier then. "I really want to go back to school. This is not where I belong.." she admitted and though she loved being here she also hated it. "I was going to be a hitwizard.." she mumbled and curled up on the couch beside her brother. Mara had hopes and dreams and they were all crushed because of the ministry and it's bullshit rules and regulations.
