With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
Damien needed to get a bite of eat before he ascended back to his common room for the night. Thankful that the kitchen had only been right by the Hufflepuff common room. Which meant he was able to be out right before curfew and not get caught. Even if he had to beat the Hufflepuff prefects just before went out for their rounds. But the Hufflepuff needed to get some food in him, and help the house elves clean before he even had considered to eat. Since it wasn't right to do that, they deserved so much more even if the Hogwarts one were treated better than most. The Hufflepuff was thankful his parents didn't have house elves. Because his parents refused to have other people be willing to do their work for them when they were fully capable of doing work themselves.
Then again that was the big problems of the Narros, they were the type of rich wizards who were progressive. Which is probably why people were not a fan of them. But Damien was raised right like his siblings, and he had been helping the house elves for years. He entered the kitchen in his pajamas and ready to go when the call was. And go right to sleep when he had to and he walked over to the house elves. And begun helping them clean and they gave him treats just for helping them. But Damien didn't feel he needed them, but he didn't say no either.
Once everything was clean up, the Hufflepuff had gotten leftovers from dinner out and heated them up. Taking it out once they were done and he took a few bites of his meal. But was soon interrupted by someone and he shouted. "I was just leaving,"he said hoping it wasn't a prefect. As he got his food and was ready to leave.
David had always told himself to get something to nibble on before he settled into the Ravenclaw tower for the evening, but this night; he had forgotten. Even though he was risking on getting caught, cutting it short to the curfew time, he needed a snack to deal with his idiot housemates that evening. All he wanted was peace and quiet, and he didn’t get it that much these days. He had been wanting to work on his novel but didn’t trust anyone around him to not peek or even attempt to steal it so they can say they wrote it themselves. Yes, David had trust issues. Especially when it came to his dorm mates. There was something about them that threw him off, but then again a lot of students were a bit pff.
Once he was close to the kitchen, he had heard a noise and the shout that someone was just leaving. Was someone else thinking what he was thinking? It was possible. A lot of students had found themselves in the kitchen shortly before curfew to get something to nibble on in the evening. David wasn’t going to judge whoever it was.
When he came into full view of the other student, he let out a sigh. ”Don’t worry. I’m not a prefect.” he had said, his eyes on the Hufflepuff. People always got nervous when it came to those power hungry idiots. He didn’t blame them.
Damien was just about to go towards the entrance, but was soon met with a sigh of relief when another male came in saying he wasn't a prefect. "That was reassuring, because I did not want to leave." he said with a chuckle even if it didn't make much sense. The Hufflepuff didn't like the idea of trying to getting in trouble. "I'm Damien." he said with a wave, before going back to where he was setting his food down.
The Hufflepuff took his place behind the counter, and he asked. "Are you trying to sneak to get in some last minute food?" he asked with an eyebrow raised hoping to not come on too strong. "If so I'd definitely be willing to help, I like to come here at night. Plus it helps that it's right by common room. But you almost gave me a scare." he chuckled.
But he soon stopped himself but his eyes closed, "I'm too much aren't I?" he asked realizing that he was probably being too talkative.
Being around food brought the best out of David because it helped his muse fuel every time it was low. Yes, even though he’s buried in his novel, most of the time he would be suffering from writer's block, and would scrap the latest he would write. Maybe he should have gone home for the holidays, but it was too late now and he was stuck there. Maybe once the lot of students had gone home, he’d be able to pick up his novel and hide in his dorm room without any disturbances. Good plan, David Jones.
David had paused when Damien had introduced himself, and he gave the male a smile. ”Name’s David.” he had said as he started to collect some things to nibble on for the night. ”Yep. Figured that I come here and grab some of the good stuff before some hungry food hogs comes in here and take it all.” he said and shoved a few items in his pockets.
Damien didn't want to come on too strong to this random stranger, because people already thought he was weird. And he looked at the guy and when he introduced himself, Damien nodded. "Nice to meet you, David." he said with a small smile. He didn't want to appear as being weird or something to this guy. Because he knew that wouldn't look good on his part, but he let out a chuckle at his next word. "Yeah that was smart because people come in her as if the apocalypse is coming." he said giving him a simple chuckle.
But Damien couldn't blame them, because it was very convenient for them to go and get free food. Plus he enjoyed helping everyone that had come into the restaurant, because it made him feel good. Since he knew the house elves work their asses off. He felt a sigh of relief when he told him that he wasn't too much. "Thank god, most people get annoyed by the way I act. So it feels good to know someone isn't annoyed by my presence anytime soon." he said giving him a small. And he also soon decided to ask with a smile. "So what house are you in, David?" he asked hoping to make some conversation.
David had been beyond stressed about the holidays, and the upcoming events in the future. He had no idea how he survived this long at this school with the dangers, but whatever. He was alive, and he was hungry. And he didn’t mind if his newfound friend talked his ear off because honestly, he could use the company before he would have to walk up all those stairs to the Ravenclaw common room to avoid being caught by prefects. Last thing he wanted was to end up losing points for his house, and it had happened once or twice over the years. He had to be quick like a ninja.
”People usually don’t talk to me because some say I’m not approachable. Or known as a loner.” he said and looked at him with a smile. ”I’m in Ravenclaw. And I hate how far away I’m from the kitchens to be honest.” he said with a grin. ”I might ask my family for a care package of snacks. Healthy and unhealthy because we all deserve a cheat day.”
