With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
Mia had found herself in the library studying in her favorite spot as usual, books were open and spread around the table she was seated at, and she was taking notes for her potions class. Potions was one of her favorite subjects, and the professor seemed to have a no nonsense attitude she respected. Even though Mia manages to get herself into trouble, she always behaved while she was in that class. Despite the professor being the sister of the boy Mia disliked, she respected her, and she wanted to be the best of the best. Maybe better than the rest of the Tyrell clan.
Mia’s thoughts were interrupted when she noticed a shadow standing over her, and she had peeked up to see a boy around her age. ”Can I help you, Slytherin?” she asked politely, blinking a few times. He was in her light.
Edmund's mind was always at ease in the library. There was the one thing he needed the most when he was there, silence. The blonde male slytherin had entered the library like the king entered his throne room. Even when the silence was supposed to rule the place, the clicking sound of his shoes made a huge impact or well.. at least it did to Edmund. He felt superior over anyone else in this place which included the next best person talking to him.
Unfortunately for him the next best person speaking to him was a Ravenclaw girl. He spotted her in his classes but never bothered to speak to her because he simply didn't care. He was in the same house as Vivi and she should display intelligence like himself but instead she looked like she was just another girl, just another silly girl like most of the girls in that house. Edmund loved Vivi but she didn't really display the wisdom and intelligence that the Ravenclaw house advertised.
Edmund rose an eyebrow when she spoke to him like he was actually there for her. No he was there because Edmund found the right book case where he would spot his favorite science books because science was what interested him in his spare time. The way she spoke, talking to him like he was the definition of his house. "Unless you have a book on dark matter, Ravenclaw, I doubt it." he said and felt slightly annoyed just because she called him Slytherin.
"You are not, unless you crawl into a book case like many of these apes, you won't be in the way." he stated and reached for the book he needed before looking at her work. Ah, the potions paper. "You haven't finished the paper yet?"
The Ravenclaw girl stared up at her classmate, her lips in a line when he had responded to her. Not that she minded, she had done it first. What did this boy want with dark matter? The female had wanted to ask but she had decided against it, instead she looked back at her notes and then at the books in front of her. She had written a few more things down before she heard him ask her a question on the paper, and she shook her head. ”I haven’t yet. No.” she said as she looked at the textbook in front of her.
”I’m trying to get it done before tomorrow’s class.” she said as she looked back up at him, her eyes on the book in his hand. ”What did you want with dark matter?” she asked, leaning back in her seat.
Edmund spun the book in both his hands and smiled a bit as this was the perfect book for his research. Edmund let out a small sigh as he sat down at the table with the Ravenclaw girl. She was a bit snarky but they both had to deal with the fact that this was a public area and they had to deal with that. Edmund grabbed his research papers and opened the book as he listened to the girl. "Well that's a shame. From what I heard the professor hates it when you're late with handing in the papers."
Edmund started penning down some formulas and read from his book. "I study it." he said and rose an eyebrow. "I like science, I study dark matter because I think it has a big promise in the future of science unlike string theory which is basically a dead end." he said with a shrug. "Can you believe people think that the universe exists out of strings? Then again loophole quantem gravity is even more ridiculous." he said and realized he rambled a bit.
"Please don't tell me you're into loophole quantem gravity." he said because he wasn't going to have a sane conversation with someone that thinks the universe exists out of loopholes.
Mia had looked back down at her paper, and then back at Edmund when he commented on the fact the professor didn’t like when people turned papers in late. Well, she didn’t plan on being late with it to begin with, but she wasn’t going to say it. She wasn’t one to turn in homework late, and she didn’t want to get on the bad side of her professors. All she wanted was to have perfect grades, and to be a model student. It was her dream to be a prefect in the future like her sister, but then - she did stir up trouble whenever she can.
”What I can’t believe is people thinking the Earth is flat.” she stated, leaning back in her seat as she eyed the boy as he started to nerd out. ”No, I’m not into it.” she said as she eyed him for a moment before looking down at the paper she had been working on before this distraction.
