With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
Finn had this thing of working at an animal shelter whenever he didn't have to work at the bar. It was a suggestion from his brother Ciar after he found him working at the bar and not with animals which was expected of Finn knowing his love for animals was bigger than anything else in his life. Connecting with animals was something Finn really needed, he loved animals and he loved how animals made him feel. He really hoped that he could make other people happy with these animals as well.
It was around lunch time and Finn was feeding milk to a nest of kittens. "One at a time, oh god Polly you are making a mess of the milk!" he said with a laughing tone in his voice as he took the now soaked in milk kitten out of the bowl. "Now easy you.. you are not supposed to have this much milk." he said and poked her nose before grabbing the tea spoon and feeding the kittens milk again.
There was the ring of the little bell and Finn took the bowl and one of the kittens with him to greet the guest. "Hello! Welcome to the shelter. I'm Finn." he said and gave the girl a smile. "How can I help a lovely lady today?"
Darcy had lost her best friend back at the end of August just before the school year started. She had had her big fluffy ginger tomboy Ale since she was 3 and had picked him out at an animal shelter Uncle Gwaine had taken her to. Living to the older age of 13 years old had made his death a bit easier, as had his on/off health issues for the last year of his life - they had helped her start mentally preparing for his passing. They had gone to sleep one night as per usual, she in her bed and Ale on the window sill so the sun would always warm him when it rose, but come the morning he had peacefully passed in his sleep.
She hadn’t been ready to get a new companion at the time, not to mention school was due to start 4 days later, but now she was. School just didn’t feel right without a furry friend following her around, meeting her outside of her classrooms or sitting on the sidelines watching her Quidditch practices. One of her brothers, Theo, had given her his Christmas present a few days early - £150 to help with adoption fees for a new cat - and dropped her off at a local shelter.
The bell above the door rang as she wandered inside though the sound was quickly lost in the meows, barks and tweeting of the various animals waiting for someone to take them home. A male voice came up behind her and she spun to look at him, her blue braid almost whipping her in the face as she did.
“Oh my god, you are just adorable!” She squealed at the sight of the little kitten in the boy’s hand and reached out to scratch it between the ears, completing forgetting she had been asked a question.
This girl had very funny looking hair in a good way as she walked into the shelter. Her hair color was very much adorably blue and Finn caught himself staring at it for a little while. Not because he didn't see it often because he did but it was not like the blue he saw, it was like a cuter and lighter blue than most people with blue hair.
The kitten in his arms was purring loudly when the girl started to call him cute, ignoring basically everything Finn said. Then again he was never called straight up cute by any girl before so the boy felt his cheeks flush slightly and just held onto the kitten. "Eh thank you. I mean very straight forward but thank you." He then followed her gaze to the kitten and let out an "oh." before feeling like a fool.
"Oh right, meet Polly. She took a tumble into the kitten milk." he said and smiled a bit. "Are you looking for a cat? Or a dog? We have birds too but no rodents." he said and hoped she ignored him about the cute reply as much as she did with the rest. May the power of the kitten save his dorky ass.
