With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
Veronica was sitting at her home and was just trying to relax. The young woman just tried to enjoy her free day since yeah she had worked so hard for couple of days. But yeah she had feeling that something bad happens soon and her rest is short filled. She was actually surprised that she didn't her nephew crying or even didn't see Lyra around. This made the waitress to be worried about own sister.
"Lyra?" she asked there and wondered even if the woman was at home or was out again. She lately was always worried about her siblings, well more likely annoyed. She was so sick of their troubles and everything what they did. Some of them acted still as the kids.
She hoped that her sister was at home since she really wished to spend some with her and her son. She missed them both these past few days she was at work. She is actually quite fond of her nephew, more than she let's out.
Lyra had gotten home early from a modeling gig and had the day off from the White Wyvern. And there was no lie that Lyra was trying her best to keep her wits together. Since she received a letter from Cooper talking about how he saw Toby and had went after him. Which pissed Lyra off, because even though Toby deserved it. Cooper still had no right to go after him.
Damn lucky that there parents didn't find out about it, because she knew they would be pissed. She hadn't seen or spoken to Toby in four years. Ever since she found out she was pregnant with Cole. So hearing this meant that he was back or he was probably going to find a way back into her life. And it's not like her life had enough problems with partying and drinking.
The witch didn't touch any alcohol, because she knew she needed to avoid partying. But she was pissed and she needed some distraction. So she hoped spending time with Cole would help with that. So she saw in his room and was playing with him. If she was ever honest Cole was the only good thing she ever did.
She watched as he played with his toys, and then he put up two animals, and he smiled. Lyra loved her son, but soon interrupted by her sister's voice. That caused her to look at Cole and smile. "Looks like Aunt Veronica, needs us? So were going to go hang out with her." she said with a smile. The witch had picked him up even if he was getting too big for her to pick up.
Walking downstairs, she said. "Yes Ronnie? I heard you calling my name." she said with a smile. Hoping that everything is okay, even if she knew that needed to tell her about Cooper and Toby. "Well good thing you did, because I just got an owl." she said with a sigh.
Veronica was sitting a few second in the silence until she heard her sister voice from other room and soon she saw Lyra walking into the living room with Cole. The smiled appeared at the young womans voice. She looked at them but and wondred if she should have kid her own one day too.
"Oh, it's nothing. I was just wondering if your home or out again. It was just so quiet," she said there simply with a smile. She really was glad that they were there and not some where else.
"Owl, about what? Something bad happened right?" she knew just had the feeling it wasn't good news. Never these owls aren't. It's her duty always try to clear the messes up or try help her siblings out of them. Or be sure that parents won't find open. She is just the most responsible on of her siblings.
Lyra had set Cole down and watched him run over to Veronica and she smiled. "I swear he's the best thing I ever did and will do." she said as she crossed her arms. Her son meant the world to her, and she wanted to get better for him, and she was trying. When her sister mentioned that it was nothing and how she was curious where she was. "No I didn't go out. Just got home early from work, and wanted to spend some time in Cole. That boy certainly plays quietly. Then again you can't hear much in this house." she chuckled. She was grateful her sister had let them stay with her. When she didn't have to and she knew that it was a second chance.
Then when her sister asked what about the Owl had been about, and she gave an annoyed sigh, "Our idiot brother ran into Cole's sperm donor. And he punched him in the face, and pushed him right before he left. Toby didn't do anything back, but I wouldn't be shocked if he puts any action against Cooper." she sighed. If she was being honest, she hadn't heard or seen any trace of Toby in three years. The only information she had came from Riley who told her he had been working with the ministry, and she had enjoyed that. But she couldn't have him come in her life.
"I mean we both know the dickhead deserves it. But Cooper is damn lucky, he's not in trouble. The school is really cracking down, ever since those werewolf attacks. I just can't believe it." she said annoyed, the witch didn't know what she'd do with Cooper and Toby. "I really hope Toby doesn't come back into my life. He doesn't need to be in my son's life. And Cooper just needs to stop." she said with an annoyed tone.
Veronica nodded her head there now. All this made sense for sure. "Oh I see. Well it's good thing that you think that way. I hope it stays like that too," she said with a small smile on her face. She really loved that her sister still took care of the child even if she was single mother. She had seen fair share of single mothers in her life who had never cared much. "Oh that's also good that this boy isn't that loud really and be quiet. But yeah this house barely lets any sound out yes I agree," she said with a small smile and looked how Cole played now with some toys what were in the living room.
When she heard about news about Cooper then that made even Veronica sigh. She didn't know what to say at first about it. She just didn't think Cooper would do something like that but then again he has always had temper kind of way. "Oh god. Well this isn't good but what is done is done. We can't change it now," Ronnie said with a sigh. She was pissed that Toby was back here too but she wouldn't go hurt him. She just plans to ignore him.
"Well we don't need him yes. Even if this guy one day might need father when he is older," she said with another sigh. She knew the boy will have some questions where his father is one day and there will be some questions what Ronnie will be sure awkward to answer. Anyways she didn't want to think that much ahead but her mind at times went that way. "Never say never. You don't know what future will bring," she added. Something told her bad things will happen even more now. Some weird instinct she had about her siblings. "And yes he should stop but You know he won't no matter what we do."
Lyra took a seat on the couch and looked at her Veronica, "I hope so too, but when it comes to alcohol, I can't promise anything. But I'm not going to lie being sober outside of working is not easy."she said with a sigh, because she knew it was irresponsible. But she needed to get on the right track and not let it run her life. She loved that Cole didn't make much noise and it was rare that she had to discipline him. "I know and it makes my job real easy. I don't got to deal with an rambunctious kid. And I hope that he stays that way." she said as she ruffled his hair. "You going to stay mummy's little angel, forever?" Lyra asked. Cole turned and he said with a chuckle. "That sounds girly."he said. Lyra gave her son a look because it meant that he was good. "There are such thing as little boy angels, and it means that you listen to mummy."she said but was ignored as the little boy grabbed something and played with it.
"It's not good, and I know it's done. But Toby is the type who'd go to the school and report him." she said with a sigh. It was frustrating for her that she had to worry about her brother losing his badge. "Our brother is a prefect, and this could make him lose his badge. And I don't want to see that, because our parents will kill him."the witch sighed. There was no lie that Toby brought problems to their family. Which ended up affecting them in the long run, and she just closed her eyes. "The part that sucks, is the fact that I actually loved Toby. And got involved with him." she sighed, despite the fact that she didn't know at the time. That he was capable of being a certain way, and she was blinded by him. Even if she still loved him despite all that happened.
She knew Veronica was right, but in all reality Cole had a father figure that was his uncle, and that's all needed. "As true as that may be, Cole has Riley who is more a father to him, than Toby will ever be." she said and she was thankful for Riley. Even if she felt no romantic feelings for him and she promised to explain to Cole that she would never date him, and the idea of Toby in his life scared her. Rolling her eyes before she turning to her sister, "I know the future will not involve Toby, in my son's life. Because my son doesn't need the heartbreak. Plus could he really handle the fact that I work my ass off?"she asked Ronnie. She knew that Ronnie was trying to help, "I did a damn good job with Cole, on my own and I don't think he should deal with the pain that Toby brings." he said even if right now Riley would be disagreeing on this. But she didn't want him in her life, no matter how much she loved him.
Veronica wasn't really surprised about what her sister said there now. She knew how hard it was for Lyra to stay sober. She just knew her little sister too well by now. "I'm glad that you are at least trying to be better and more sober nowadays. I really hope you won't go back to your old habits," Ronnie said with a small smile. She knew she herself has never had the problem with drinking. The young woman had to laugh when her nephew said that being mother little angel was very girly. This boy was so funny at times. "I totally get what you mean. I guess boys doesn't like to be called angels. At least Cole. But yeah it's good that he isn't very loud kid. But yeah I'd even say he is angel," she said back with a small smile and looked at her nephew playing. She really wished that she had kid her own at these times.
Veronica nodded her head there now. This was never good hitting someone but she can't changes what was done. "Well let's hope nothing bad happens really. We never know what could happen. I can't keep getting you all out of the trouble and this time it's Cooper needs to get out of this mess his own. I don't wanna be involved with your ex," she said there now with a sigh. She might have been most responsible one and but didn't mean she always wanted to be involved in her siblings and cousin troubles. They needed to learn how to get out the trouble their own. It was time. "I can't choose who you love. It just happens. I hope you find someone better for you," she said with a sigh there now. Something told to the woman that something more bad is about to happen. This was start of the troubles a head.
Veronica knew about Riley and knew he was the father figure in the Cole's life but she knew that boy needed the real father. "Well yeah I get you but one day the boy still might want to see his real father. I'm sure of it. Even if you keep the apart they could still meet. You never know what is going on his little head. I know he sees currently Riley as father but he knows he isn't his real father and he might get yeah that you and Riley might never been together. You can't stop him seeing his father. You know that more you stop people doing something more they wanna do it?" Veronica knows what she said was so true. She even could tell that her sister still loved Toby but didn't say anything about it. She just knew even if she seemed to hate him right now.
