With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
The highest tower of Hogwarts was not the Gryffindor tower, or the Ravenclaw one, rather it was the Astronomy tower, which was one of the places Lucy did like to come outside of class, usually when she was down. Today was one of those days where she longed for home, specifically the warm embrace of her mother. The very same mother who was currently sick and she was trying to keep the feelings in check by doing some of the things she liked. One of those was watching the moon and the stars, knowing that somewhere else on the edge of Scotland her mom would see the same ones, making her feel somewhat connected.
One of the other things was that she did like dancing, just that she wasn’t great at it, yet. Now she had music running from The Netherlands with a smile on her face as she danced on her bare feet at the top of Hogwarts, singing along under the stars that she loved. The song was quite odd as it was Dutch, by two blokes called Nick and Simon. The title was ‘’the soldier’’ Roughly translated it was about a soldier who went off to war and wrote home to his love, Only to remind her that they were both watching the same moon, but he got killed and wouldn’t go home to her again. Rather sad too, but the melody was rather upbeat and that reminded Lucy of herself. When feeling down, always be even more happy and everything, just don’t show it.
It was that when she was thinking about this that she bumped into something soft and squishy. ’’Whoops, Sorry for being clumsy and waltzing right into you miss soft and squishy, names Lucy and yours, was Squishy or was it soft? Or am I totally wrong and is it something like beautiful or flowery?’’. Okay she was a bit of a dork and she knew it.

It wasn't curfew yet, she still had a good hour or two, and so naturally Viola wanted to use the time to her advantage. Prancing up to the Astronomy Tower with her guitar in hand and her book and muggle pen shoved in her pocket, Vi was excited the view up in the Astronomy Tower topped the view out of her dorm window and this time of night was absolutely inspirational.
As she climbed the steps, nearing the door into the room, Vi was surprised because music? Oh la la. Definitely not being played by a person by the sounds of it and as she took a step into the room finally, she was delighted to see that it was coming over a radio instead. Why? Because it meant the cutie patootie redheaded girl could dance instead, and beautifully at that!
Vi didn't quite realise that she was nearing closer and closer towards her until finally, she found herself being knocked into. "Oh, oopsie daisies!" Vi said, reaching out to grab the girl's hands to steady her, just in case she lost her balance. Then the girl started talking and immediately, Vi broke out into a big smile. "No, don't be a silly billy! I was being a bit of a jeepers creepers, and should have introduced myself, Lucy! Lucy. I like that name. Rhymes with goosey... I'm Viola! Kinda like a violet, but Viola's from those funky dunky Shakespeare books my mums are obsessed with."
Lucy apparently wasn’t the only dork or oddball on the astronomy tower that evening and for that she was glad. She needed someone to either be at least as weird as she was at that moment to keep on hiding the pain that was burning in the back of her mind at that moment. ’’I can’t be a silly billy, for I’m not a boy, unless you mean billen like the Dutch word for buttcheeks?’’ Now done steadying herself by the arms of the girl who introduced herself as the jeepers creepers Viola, which apparently came from the hard to plough through Shakespearian books she smiled at her.
Righting herself a bit more she couldn’t help but notice the word mums and mentally shrug about it. It seemed that the wizarding world was at times much more open about this than the muggle one, not that she minded. In all honesty Lucy hadn’t even started thinking about her own sexuality, or even smooching for that matter. Her dorm mates on the other hand seemed to gobble that stuff up so easily and were basically hanging on each other’s lips when something like it was discussed or someone had found a new read in some gossip magazine.
’’Well if you wouldn’t mind, this goosey could use a dance partner?’’ Holding out her arms for Viola to step into and join in on her dance, maybe talk a bit more or just joke around. Lucy didn’t know, but having Viola around was weird, but a familiar weird, like she could be at times, too much energy and cuteness in an odd package.

"Sure you can. You can be whatever you want. Calling someone a silly billy doesn't mean I'm calling you a boy - not that there's anything wrong with that anyway. But in Australia, a 'billy' is a some funky dunky pot they cook with when they camp... I think. So it doesn't mean that I'm calling you a boy," Vi said lightly, though she started giggling as Lucy mentioned that 'billen' meant 'buttcheeks in Dutch. "Are you Dutch? How d'you know that? I only know the Australian thing because, well, that new Professor is from Australia - Aussieland, as they call it -" Not that anyone called it that. "- and I was doing some research! Or... I guess... I just asked my housemates but that's totally counts, right?"
The next words from Lucy's mouth were ones inviting her to dance and with a great big grin, Vi stepped forward into Lucy's space, grabbing the girl's hands and wiggling her body about to the song that was playing. Speaking of which... "What song's this? I haven't heard this one! Do you play any music? Do you sing or play any instruments?" Her questions were quick and rapidfire, much like Vi herself. She wasn't afraid to be 'too much' to some people.
No she was compared to a cooking pot, which wasn’t that much better in Lucy’s opinion, but at least she was more okay with it because of her baking obsession. When asked if she was Dutch she started to giggle a little bit shaking her head. Personally she wasn’t Dutch but she did have family there that she visited whenever she was allowed to. ’’Sure it counts Vi and no I’m not Dutch I just have family in The Netherlands. ‘’ Leading the other girl in the dance which was nothing too special if she said so herself.
’’I don’t think much of it myself but I do pluck at the guitar strings every now and again, I do try to sing with it, but I don’t think I sound very well. What about you, do you play? Where do you come from? What is Ravenclaw like? Do you have many friends? Where do you like to go for holidays and the likes?’’ Trying to keep being upbeat about it all she fired her questions as fast as she could, closely mimicking Viola in her way of asking. Twirling them around she led the two of them to a parapet on the tower. Kind of wanting to sit down and just gaze at the stars while music was playing.
