With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
As Ollie held him into a hug, she could feel how tense he was, how upset he was. He seemed so hopeless, like nothing could make his life better and Ollie hated seeing him in this state. The blonde girl just sighed and when he asked what he was supposed to do she was sure there were many answers that were possible. She could tell him to just talk to Parker but she did it before and he refused.
"I don't know.. maybe try to talk to her in private?" she offered and rubbed his back. He was hurt and it seemed like he really needed her to be his friend too, not just Parker's. Ollie wasn't one to pick sides and though he sounded like a jerk at first, he was really just a hurt boy.
"I wish I could help you.. do you want to get a bite to eat?"
Oscar opened and closed his fists in helpless despair at the suggestion to just speak to Parker. "It's not like she wants to talk," he reminded Ollie. "And even if she did, it'll just be exactly like before. I mean, nothing has changed since I broke up with her. It's just... not meant to be," he concluded sadly and it stung so badly now that he had said it out loud. Maybe he just had to deal with it, be a man, move on. They were still young. He would find another girl. Maybe.
Rubbing his face he looked up. "Sure, let's get something to eat," he agreed. It would not help anyone to keep sitting in the library and moping about a lost love. Ollie really was a great friend.
Ollie just wanted to help her friends and this fight between Oscar and Parker had to end at some point. There was no point in fighting, not to Ollie at least. The girl ran a hand through her hair as she packed up her bag and swung it over her shoulder. Something to eat could cheer him up and she was sure he could use that.
"are you sure she doesn't want to talk? She seems like she really misses you." she said and shrugged a bit. Ollie thought about food, not having Parker as a subject might help him too. She handed him a tissue for his eyes.
Oscar shrugged. "She's pretty mad at me. So I think she'd rather duel me than talk," he explained. And honestly, it didn't take long for her to provoke him either. She only had to throw one of those nasty looks he'd been getting recently and his blood would be set to boil. As much as he'd just wanted to believe what Ollie said, he now very much doubted they would ever get back together. It just made him even more sad.
"Sure, let's get cookies," he agreed and got up, shaking his head to get rid of these depressing thoughts.
