With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
when there's nowhere else to run/is there room for one more son?

Skylar Reid
SPECIES: human (wizard)
BLOOD STATUS: pureblood
JOB: student, 4th year
HOUSE: Hufflepuff
FACE CLAIM: Gytis Gedvilas
BIRTHDAY: 14 July 2004
PERSONALITY
Positive Traits: loyal friend, optimistic by nature (though this is difficult recently), good sense of humor, helpful, playful Negative Traits: often agitated, doesn’t know what a coping skill is, blames himself for things going wrong, very impulsive Quirks and Habits: Skylar’s got a lot on his plate--and isn’t that the understatement of the century? Between the loss of his parents and what very much seems like the loss of his brother, all while trying to make sense of the regular struggles of school and social life that any fourteen-year-old has, he feels like he can’t handle things anymore. And it’s getting him into some trouble: going to parties he has no business being at, getting into fights, being mean to his new foster “siblings” when he never had that attitude toward the Joneses before. It’s because he can’t stand being alone when the questions get too much to handle--could he have prevented all this somehow? Instead, he has to distract himself any way he can. That being said, he is lighthearted by nature, it’s only that recent events have made that difficult. He loves a good prank or adventure, and is always happy to see his friends. Likes: sports, adventures, friends, Morgan, parties, cute boys Dislikes: being alone, seeing his own blood, when the twins are closer to each other than they are to him, sunburns, detention, attempting to sleep (especially on full moon nights), werewolves, the fact that he’s actually sort of afraid of his brother now Boggart: his sister’s dead body Mirror of Erised: his parents alive Patronus: golden retriever
HISTORY
Things were fine, once. They were calm, once. They were even good, once. Skylar had grown up the youngest child of the Reid family, brother to the twins Morgan and Dallas, who he followed around like a little puppy, always admiring his older siblings. There hadn’t been anything to worry about in those days.
Then three things changed everything.
First, being a Hufflepuff. He had come to Hogwarts fully expecting to be a Slytherin as his parents and siblings both were, and when the Sorting Hat had told him that his loyalty and optimism should place him somewhere else, no amount of arguing could change its mind. As if it wasn’t bad enough that Morgan and Dallas were already closer, being twins, now he had to be in an entirely separate House from the rest of the family? He felt like a disappointment, like he did not quite belong in the family anymore. But this was not the worst thing that would happen to him.
Because second was the attack on Dallas. Skylar had been terrified of werewolves ever since the attack on Hogwarts, and the realization that the brother he looked up to had become the kind of monster he feared so much shook the young Skylar to the core. He was never quite able to reconcile his love for his brother with his fear of the dangerous creatures he knew were out there. On one hand he could go back home and everything would feel the same for a while, and then the full moon would come and Skylar would be reminded once more that he had no idea what was happening to his brother out there. Was the same boy with the guitar, the one who was always determined to protect Skylar and Morgan, really still inside the wolf’s mind? But this, again, was not the worst thing that would happen to him.
The third and worst thing that changed his life was the night his parents died. Everything still seems like a blur--the screaming, the crying, how Morgan had shoved him under the bed, keeping him safe but giving him no chance to say goodbye or to have any shot at stopping the violence going on just a short distance away. Not that he could have done anything, still unable to use magic away from school while underage, but still--the thought was the only thing that could let him feel like he still had any control of his life. Returning to Hogwarts so soon felt like more than he could handle, but he had no choice, being shuffled off to the train once more, with his sister, but without his parents. Would he lose her next?

RP Alias: Kasia Pronouns: she/her Hogwarts House: Ravenclaw Other Characters: NADEZHDA KAREVA Roleplay example:
Ah, the Slytherin common room, home of the snakes for a thousand years. Grand decorations, beautiful furniture, cozy fire...
And perhaps Nadya's least favorite place in the castle.
If the sensation of being underwater every time she wanted to sleep wasn't bad enough, her Housemates surely were. It was said that Slytherins tended to form tight bonds of friendship or love, but looking around at most everyone she knew, Nadya was not sure where that reputation had come from. There were a few who clung to each other, but Nadya felt it had to be at least somewhat fake. After all, the sheer amount of obnoxious in the dungeon would drive her out any day, not to mention the talk she heard from some of them about her half-blood father and veela mother. Was it really so difficult to believe that beings were just as intelligent as witches and wizards?
The joke would be on them when she could charm them and break their hearts. Although both her sisters were better at that than Nadya was, and the middle Kareva felt that she would not have quite the charisma for it, were it not for her veela blood. Still, there was a certain satisfaction in flaunting it in front of the purebloods, with no intention of ever touching someone she didn't actually like.
In front of the crackling fire, which lifted the dark mood of the dungeon a bit, Nadya sat on one of the leather sofas with bare feet and her legs tucked under her, blonde hair loose, as she worked on a Transfiguration essay. For now there was nobody to bother her, but she had started to notice more and more people entering the common room for the evening, and she prepared mentally to have to pack up her parchment and find a more isolated place for the night. Gripping her quill tighter, she hoped she could simply finish this awful essay in the awful dungeon in peace.
